I bought this to use with my Audio Technica AT2020 XLR version. It works very well and does what it's supposed to do. For people saying it doesn't fit that mic, don't believe them. You might have to squeeze the thing to be able to push it in more snugly, but it will definitely fit. I have it attached to a boom mic arm and it just works. I mainly stream and I do a small podcast and this keeps my mic at a good level for me to speak into and when I type on the computer and use my mouse I don't get the movement sound from the desk moving a bit. I give this device 5 stars and definitely recommend you pick it up if you have an AT2020 or that size mic.

Unless you want to spend the extra money on a higher priced shock mount just because it comes from a particular company, I suggest using this one. There isn't anything special about it, but it works just fine and seems to do a good job for what it was made to do. The AT2020 is a very sensitive microphone. Using this made quite a big difference in my setup. The mic fits snug inside and does not feel like it is going to fall out.

I have the Rode PSA1 and the Audio Technica AT2020 USB microphone - I hated the way those two interacted until I finally broke down and added this shock mount. Now everything is peaceful in my home studio because adjusting the microphone is no longer a huge PITA, and things stay where I move them, which was not the case prior to the shock mount. Easy to install, and very happy I spent the money.

PROS: * Fits larger MICs like AT2500 (48-54mm rating) * Standard shockmount spring-clamp design * Includes a 3/8"to 5/8" adapter * Comes in silver or black * Low price CONS: * Fairly cheap in price and build As long as you are not rough with your mic, this should be just fine. It's a standard bungee style shock mount. We got this because the Neweer version was too small for an Audio Technica microphone. This one is perfect, and the included adapter put this onto the Neweer arm.

+ It holds my condenser microphone steadily enough to alleviate fears that it’ll fall + It serves the purpose of absorbing floor reverberations if you tap your foot while recording + When you install it correctly, it looks beautiful holding the condenser mic - The materials aren’t the best quality, but for the low price, this is completely understandable There’s a psychological component that comes from using a shock mount that tells you that you’re taking things one smaller step forward. It’s hard to explain, but once you put it in place, it all makes sense. It looks professional and a a decent sized condenser mic fits into it perfectly without any concern that the mic will fall. Lightly tapping on your feet to time your recordings typically won’t be recorded my a condenser mic if you’re standing, due to the typical pick up partern of an XLR based condenser mic, but the light reverberations may affect the sound. This shock mount theoretically helps reduce, or outright remove that effect due to how the mic is suspended by the rubber bands. There really isn’t much else to state, other then the obvious, it’s asteticslly pleasing and it serves it’s basic purpose. It’s also inexpensive, so there’s that. For anyone who’s home recording vocals and doesn’t have a shock mount, it may not seem like a necessity, but at this price it is a small upgrade.

Yes for anyone asking, this will work for the Audio Technica AT2020 microphone, it's about the only one here on Amazon that does besides the horrendously expensive official model. I have mine sat in there right now. It's not hard to get in either so don't worry about pinching or anything like that.

Works perfectly, and is a perfect fit for an AT2020

Super. Finally found a reasonably priced shock mount that WORKS, and fits the AT2020 perfectly. Here is a tip for those who think that this mount doesn't work: If you look at it, the holder squeezes open on a spring, like a clothespin, to hold the mic body. Well, the metal opening where it separates may be a little stuck, because of black paint from the factory sticking together. Just push on it harder, or pry just a little with a screwdriver to release that paint, and you're good to go.

Fits my Audio Technica AT2050 mic perfectly. The AT2050 is the same size as many of the other Audio Techinca miss such as the AT2020 etc. You simply press the levers in and insert the mic. The fit is very snug but not hard to get the mic in - it feels like it will not fall out or scratch the exterior of the mic at all. As will all hardware that is a low price I would be weary of over-tightening anything that moves - threads etc might be of lower quality and get loose over time or get threaded. So treat with care. When I attached this to my mic stand I used a little silicon lube on the threads just to be sage.

We purchased the Koolertron Universal Shock Mount for my husband. He is the music afficiandio in the family. Me, I can't tell one instrument from another. Seriously. Okay so it's not quite that bad but no one will ever mistake me for a music afficiandio that's for sure. Not even on a good day. So the Koolertron Universal Shock Mount is for my husband. And he says that it is basically made for larger mics, those from 48MM-54MM. He says that it works great with his PreSonus M7 Mic that he also just bought. The Mount has a snug fit for the mic so he says that there's no worries that it will move or fall out. He says that he's seen that happen with other mounts and that's just frustrating. He says that the Mount is made of metal and so that's a plus. He says that the mount seems to be well made and that it does what it's supposed to do. He would recommend it to any one starting out in Broadcasting or studio recording. He says that it is a great shock mount for the price.
