- ✔ INDUCE BREEDING - SunGrow Betta Leaves are a must-have for taking care of Betta fish. They act as a shelter to betta, release minerals for their healing, and assist Betta in spawning. They also help Betta's skin and scales stay hard and still, smooth and slippery.
- ✔ REDUCE STRESS - Bettas have been known to display improved behaviour when SunGrow Betta Leaves are introduced to the tank. Because the leaves create an environment similar to their natural habitat, Bettas will start interacting with the leaves within the day they are introduced.
- ✔ NO TOXIC CHEMICALS ADDED - SunGrow Betta Leaves are the best solution for creating black water quality. Bottled black-water extracts may contain other chemicals mixed in that is harmful to Bettas. Our SunGrow Betta Leaves are expertly selected from naturally fallen leaves and carefully sterilised to be free of pesticides and safe for pets.
- ✔ BOOST IMMUNITY - SunGrow Betta Leaves will release beneficial tannins within 15 to 30 minutes. You'll notice your tank water browning. Tannins are known to contain healing properties. Remove the leaves only when they start to disintegrate. Because SunGrow Catappa Leaves are organic, you don't have to boil them down and risk destroying the beneficial nutrients.
- ✔ EASY TO USE - Just drop a few leaves into your tank. Bettas will start nibbling on the leaves, using them for cover or may even lay eggs on the leaves. PREPARATION: Before placing the product in the aquarium, rinse before use, even after boiling or soaking. A "post-boil soak" in fresh water with a bag of activated carbon is a recommended step, too.

Foreign leaves engage Bettas.
It took a while to get these but they work great. I give my betta a two inch piece of leaf and she enjoys it. She likes to hang out underneath it while it's still floating. It cleared up her cloudy eyes and it gives her something to look at besides her fake plant. The water does take on a light amber color.

Game changer.
These SunGrow Betta Leaves seem to be the missing link in the unnatural habitat that we try to create for the Beta fish. I have been buying Beta fish from Walmart for years, the ones that are more dead than alive usually laying on their side very visibly stressed. Most have no tails and very little fins left. There have been a few that died within hours but at least they did not die there. My success rate in their rehab has been around 80 %which makes me very happy. These leaves are a game changer in creating a better habitat for them. Since I have been using these leaves there is a clear difference in their physical and behavior condition. Physically their colors are more vibrant and more of a metallic sheen, their fins and tails growing at a faster rate. There is an obvious change in their activity, much more inquisitive in their habitat. At this point I can’t imagine having Beta fish without these leaves. I don’t know about usage with other fish but highly recommend looking into it with what ever fish you have. Thank you to Amazon for the recommendation, otherwise I don’t know that I would have come across them. Note the picture that I am attaching is from Hank (that’s his name) I have had him for about 8 months, when I got him he had hardly any tail and zero dorsal fin, I had to build up rocks for him to perch on so that he could breath in air and not roll around, he is now healthy and happy.

Nice selection of Indian Almond Leaves
This review is for the large Indian Almond Leaves not the mini. They arrive in a flat plastic bag neatly stacked, each leaf is approximately 8 inches long. It's supposed to be a pack of 10 but contained 12, no complaints. If you aren't sure whether to get the mini or the large, I'd suggest getting the large since you can always cut them to the size you want (cuts as easy as paper) especially if you plan on using this as a hammock for your Betta fish to lay on or as a bubble nest canopy. For those new to using the leaves, do be aware that the longer they are left in your tank the more tannins get into the water which (much like tea) will discolor the water a bit. A safe start is to have a cycle of putting a leaf in for a week then taking it out for a week. If you find that your fish are happier with it in and you don't mind the light brown tint, you can go longer with the in/out cycle or just keep replacing the leaves every week or so. The larger the tank the less noticeable the brown tint will be (to remove the tint, do partial water changes or use activated carbon). If your tank is large enough with a variety of fish and bottom feeders you may find that the leaf dissolves and disappears on its own. Not all Bettas respond to the leaves, but the way they work is that the leaves are rich in compounds that are antibacterial and antifungal so if your Betta is discolored or struggling with finrot or is stressed the leaves can help rectify the issues. Essentially the leaf slowly decomposes, releasing tannins along the way acting as a water conditioner altering the water chemistry (lowers PH and kills bad bacteria). In healthy Bettas this can stimulate breeding (plus fry love to hide among these leaves). Before putting a leaf in your tank rinse it off, even a healthy leaf could contain pesticides. Put the unused leaves in an airtight container and they will last many months. When you first put a leaf in it will float, though you can push it down to rest among other plants or there's even a Betta leaf suction cup with clip item available on Amazon (called SunGrow Betta Bed Kit) that you can clip your leaf to if you want to force it to sit under the water line to be used as a hammock though can probably rig your own. If you want the tannin benefit without having to worry about changing leaves in your tank, alternatively you can boil the leaves like you would for tea and dump the tannin water in your tank. If your Betta seems stressed or depressed these leaves might just be the thing he needs to perk up, or if you are looking to breed your Betta these leaves will help create the environment needed to stimulate bubble nest making. The recommended leaf dose is 1 of these large 8" leaves per 12 gallons, so cut the leaf according to your tank size. You don't want to overdose and shock your fish, better to start small and see how your fish responds to his new leaf toy. It's worth a try, most Bettas love these leaves even just to play with and nibble on. Enjoy!

A great purchase. My Betta and Snails love them.
These Betta leaves are great. They are large so I only used a quarter of a leaf for my 3 gallon tank. My Betta fish was instantly fascinated and excited about the leaf, checking it out and later resting on it. He seems a lot livelier since I added the leaf to my tank. I also have two snails in the tank, one of whom had not been moving much for days and who I was very concerned about. A short while after putting the leaf in the tank that snail finally came out of his shell and started being active again. I can't say for certain if it was the Betta leaf that helped my snail but it certainly appeared that way. Very happy with my purchase.

Zeus loves them!
I was a little hesitant about these leaves at first. I was worried because it made mention that the water would start to change colors. I honestly was worried it would look like swamp water. I have a 3 gallon tank for my Betta fish, Zeus. He loves all of his plant and his log that he like to sleep in. When I got the leaves, they. We're. HUGE! The packaging said one leaf per 10 gallons. Being substantially less than 10, I guess-timated the piece to put in his tank. He ignored it the first day it was in there. By day 2, he was pulling it around his little home and putting it different places. (He's all about some feng shui I guess) I removed it after it started to break apart, per the instructions. It did tint the water a little bit, but nothing terrible. It reminded me of a very weak tea, honestly. Long story short. Zeus loved it and he does seem to have more of a pep in his..... Step? Fin? Tail? You get the idea. :)

Definitely recommend!
They're way bigger than I expected and all of them are in perfect condition. I'll be putting them in the tanks asap.

Huge leaves that last forever
These leaves are HUGE. I wasn't expecting them to actually be this large, but I'm very pleased with the outcome. They fit well into my 5 gallon and add a natural look to the tank. My betta's mild fin rot cleared up within days of adding them, and he seems to really like swimming around them. They provide a more natural habitat for him and keep him healthy and engaged. They float for a couple days and then sink naturally. They last for weeks, and I haven't even removed the one I added a month ago - I'm just letting my snails eat it. They started doing that after a couple weeks, which I'd assume is how long it takes it to start decaying, but my tank is doing great. I will be buying these again in the future.

Great Natural Product
These leaves are large. I have a 10 gallon tank with a filter, heater and divider for my male and female bettas (5 gallons to each of them); I put in one leaf over the young male who I bought as a baby and after a day the water had a natural tea tint to it. Both my bettas seemed to be very active and happy, they were healthy before but after the leaf was put in they seemed even more active. I then cut half and put it over the females side. Only downside, if you can consider it a downside is that the male will fill the bottom of the floating leaf with a bubble nest, a very thick one. I guess that means he's healthy. If you dont like the color change then there are alternatives but I think it looks pretty cool. Great product.

These leaves are like magic!
These leaves are like magic! I never write reviews but am so impressed with this product that I had to share. I received the leaves yesterday and they were nicely bundled. I was expecting some damage due to the leaves being dry but they were completely in tact. There are some holes from insects, but hey, this is nature we're talking about. The best thing about this is that Mongolian Beef (yes, that's his name) is so happy. I placed a partial leaf in his lank last night and this morning found a pretty impressive bubble nest (nice job buddy!). He'll be moving to a new soon and will definitely be including this in his set up. I definitely recommend this product to anyone who loves their betta.

great betta hammocks!
My fish love them! I place them on top of plants so they don't sink, and they use them as hammocks. Keeps the water nice and clear and the fish bright and colorful. Had extra leaves in the package.
