I have used this trimmer once since receiving it. I like it very much. It is so light weight, doesn't hurt your arms to use. Assembly was easy , only two parts to put on. It worked great. The battery lasted half an hour for me. I will get another battery and have one available for use all the time. Not quite sure how long it took to recharge. It did about half of my trimming in a half hour. It is such a joy to not have to mix gas and mess with that on each use. No pulling the rope for starting. Just depress safety lock and pull trigger at the same time and your good to go. For the price, it is well worth it. Seems to have enough power for normal weed trimming. Not for tall weeds I would imagine. I am 73 years old and have absolutely no problem with this trimmer.

This thing kills weeds and grass like it has a grudge. I'm seriously impressed with it's effectiveness. I bought this because I needed to replace my old B&D cordless trimmer whose battery was going downhill. I had that one for possibly 10 years, it served me well. This new one makes the other look bad. It's incredibly powerful and cuts through things the other never did. The edger function cleaned up my sidewalks really nicely. I was able to do my entire yard on 1 charge with plenty of power to spare. I ran it for probably 45 mins. The best part is it's WAY lighter than the old one. The battery is so much smaller (and removable) which probably is the biggest factor for that reason. Plus I like the fact that it's part of a line where the batteries can be shared and spares bought if I need them. If you have a standard suburban home with a yard, this guy will more than get the job done. I only see the need to go with a gas powered one if you have some serious amount of property to work with.

Incredibly easy to assemble and I love the battery concept - purchase one battery and then it can be interchanged with other Black+Decker items. The trimmer did a great job cutting back some hefty weeds and growth along my fence and the edger did a great job on my front walk. Holds a charge for quite awhile; I was able to get several hours of weeding done off of one charge. Would purchase again.

LOVE!!! This Trimmer, I have a small yard in front and back and the battery last long enough to trim, I just ordered the mower attachment and It came on Saturday, not had time to use it, but can't wait. IF you want a weed-eater/Trimmer and don't want the hassle of gas or electric this is it, I got my Best Friend to get one and she loves it also.

Have only had for a couple of weeks but it works great! Takes on some tough weeds and not to heavy or bulky for me to use. I'm 5'2 so being able to adjust the length is great

I owned the predecessor to this model, the NST2118. It used hateful 18vNi Cads. I loved the old trimmer for its light weight and autofeed, but the run time was frustrating, as was the recharge time. It ran for 5 years, and I had 4 batteries and 2 chargers for it. Enter the LST300. Under $70, comes with a 20V 2.0A lithium battery and a full spool of trimmer line. It has Excellent run time, it's extremely light, and it's very quiet, compared to other trimmers. I don't even have to wear hearing protection. Auto-feed works reasonably well. The line lasts a long time. Pre-wound replacement spools are $2.25 each in bulk, so you don't have the hassle of winding your own spools. I have 400' of driveway/walkways to edge, plus 2 acres of lawn, so I put the trimmer through its paces. I bought a Big 4.0Ah battery for $27, and 8 replacement spools for $18. Overall I'm very happy with this trimmer so far. Bonus: 30 day money back guarantee, 2 year limited waranty. And the batteries fit my pole saw and drill, plus many other tools.

I'm a gearhead, and as such, prefer engines on as many things as possible. I had a 2-stroke weed whacker for years, and while it murdered weeds with impunity, I felt like I spent more time fixing/adjusting it than actually whacking weeds. This little electric trimmer fixed all that. It's about 3x lighter than the engine version, the handle adjusts to your height/angle preference, the head can be turned 90 degrees to get edges, and the lithium battery can run at full tilt for an hour plus, easily. It recharges fast and comes with an extra battery, so there's basically no downtime in your weed massacring sessions. The spools are a little tricky to replace (don't let the spring loose or you'll find yourself winding it back together manually, which sucks), but once you figure it out, it's quick and easy to drop in new line.

This thing is a beast! I love it! It can tackle some tough stuff, is WAY lighter than the gas trimmers., & won't kill your back and neck. I have a horse ranch so i bought extra batteries and chargers. I carry the batteries with me in a nail apron and change them when i need to. I can get up to an hours work out of one battery depending on how heavy the stuff is that I am trimming. This is my second one. I burnt the first one up - totally my fault. I never blew out the slots that give air to the motor. I had the other one about 3 years. (?)

I have 5 acres with 3 wooded and take care of 2. Have heavy duty gas trimmers but 95% of the time I use the lst300. Also have a b&d battery blower and impact drill which means xtra batteries and chargers. I love all of them and am impressed with the job they do and the quality of the products. Also bought the blower 3 years ago and it is still going strong. I hate fooling with the gas ones and enjoy being able to start and go at any time. As long as the battery has a strong charge the 300 will tackle tuff weeds. I use the blower and trimmer almost daily.

Does an excellent job. Used it around fences, bushes and around the house. Previously used a cord B&D model. As other reviewers have noted, the battery last 20-25 minutes. I bought an extra battery, and used one battery and probably about half the power in the second battery. About a one third of an acre. Very impressed. This is my first battery power lawn care device and I'm now completely sold on the technology. I think B&D is doing the right thing making the 20v battery interchangeable on its other tools. I also bought the B&W 20v hedge trimmer and now have three batteries. I'll probably buy a fourth at some point for the heavy lawn care days. This is clearly the way to go. A corded system is a real pain to use and a gas system is really only needed by the professionals or people with monster lawns. But even there, the batteries are only about $20 each.
