I've been a huge fan of E.L.F. cosmetics for a long time. Everything they make is wildly inexpensive without looking or feeling cheap or low quality. And I do mean wildly inexpensive; most of their original makeup brushes are $1 - $3, and most of their original line of makeup is $3 - $5, but none of it feels or works like the kind stuff that you find in 99 cent stores. In fact, a lot of beauty gurus on YouTube and Instagram use E.L.F. products regularly in their tutorials, and those are people who definitely have access to ultra high-end cosmetics! This skincare line is a little pricier than their other offerings but still pretty reasonable, ranging from $3 for a sheet mask to $14 for a bubble mask, with everything else falling in the middle. I love the packaging, which is all a soft, pale blue-green with simple lettering that evokes a soothing spa-like atmosphere. I love the way it looks just sitting on my bathroom shelf! This primer is just phenomenal, I really can't even begin to say enough good things about it. Its very light but covers the skin beautifully, and a little bit really goes a long way. Its hydrating without being at all greasy, and it makes my foundation look absolutely flawless all day long. I looove how lightweight it is; I've had some ugly experiences with primers that make everything put on top of them look cakey, or others that are lighter but don't do much at all. This one is just perfect, especially for the price! I want to address some of the reviews I've seen where people complain about this primer's smell. I barely notice any scent at all, and certainly not anything even remotely like chemicals. What smell it does have is very, very faint and reminds me of lots of other lotions or primers, and fades almost immediately. I actually rubbed some into the back of my hand when I started writing this review so I could be absolutely sure of how it smells, and I've been smelling it regularly this whole time. Now, my hand has no smell at all. Trust me. In short, this is just as good as you've heard, and you can't beat the price for this quality. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!

Clearer skin in the long run!

For most of my adult life thus far, I didn’t use primer whatsoever (I didn’t really see the point). But after watching dozens of YouTube makeup videos as I lay awake in my bed past midnight, I started seeing the error of my ways. I’ve used this primer consistently for about 5 months now, and one thing I didn’t expect was that my skin is a lot clearer! I used to have constant acne around my jawline and no matter what I did, it wouldn’t stay away for more than 3 days at a time. When I applied my makeup before, all the gunk I was putting on my face would get sucked up by my pores right away. But since using this primer, it acts as a barrier so that doesn’t happen, and most makeup I put on is easily washed off later, without causing damage to my skin, and leaving my pores relatively clean. And yeah, my makeup absolutely stays on longer. I sometimes take a quick nap during the day, and usually, upon waking up, my face would be a muddy mess. But if I use this primer, there’s significantly less of a mess! Most (if not all) of my makeup stays neatly in place and I usually don’t have to reapply eyeliner or whatever else at all. So this product is also good if you’re lazy like me, and don’t really like touching up makeup multiple times a day!

Love this primer

Love this primer, made a great difference on my makeup. It's easy to apply, leaves my skin smooth and prepares it well for makeup. I often have problems with my pores when applying foundation, this primer makes my skin look flawless when I apply it. I also have oily skin which causes my makeup to be messed up after a few hours but with this primer my makeup always stays in place the entire night. It also doesn't irritate my very sensible skin and the smell is not bad. The only complain I have is that it has less product than expected, the bottle makes it look like it has more. Anyways, it has a great amount of content in relation to the price. I left a few photos so you can see the packing and the color.

great primer for great coverage, and excellent for irritable skin!

This is a really great face primer! I always had great, flawless skin until AFTER high school, when anytime I would use foundation I would get clogged pores and pimples. Acne scrubs are too much for my skin, but soap and water wasn't enough to keep my pores from clogging when using makeup. I started using different primers to help minimize the effects that foundation has on my skin, and I've gone from Younique, Mary Kay, Olay, Nuetrogena, and very few worked. They all help give you great foundation coverage, but they don't have what this one has and that's pore protection. It goes on smoothly and has a pleasant tingle to it when you put it on without any real odor like Mary Kay's has. A small pump is enough for your whole face. When you apply your foundation over it, you can see how much smoother it is, and the difference in coverage immediately. The best thing though, is that when you go to take off your makeup, you can really tell that it created that barrier, and your pores aren't clogged! I've been using it for about 4 weeks without a single pimple, and getting flawless coverage even when using contour. When I found it for this price on Amazon, I knew I had found my face primer forever! I highly, highly recommend to anyone! A Keeper!

This budget primer really doesn't feel budget. It's smooth, scentless, and does not affect the tone of my foundation, other than maybe providing some evenness. My skin is drier than it used to be, and this hydrating primer really does help foundation go on smoothly. I use liquid foundation, but this dries to a powder-like finish, and I think it would work with any type foundation.

What a difference a tiny bottle of stuff makes.

This is the first time I've tried using a primer under makeup. Wow, what a difference! It's not that it affects how the foundation looks in the end, but that you can spread it around your face much more easily. I'm a middle-aged woman who has never tried this kind of stuff before because I just don't care as much about perfecting my features like I often did in my twenties. I have spent years not wearing much makeup at all because i couldn't be bothered. Adding one more step is certainly something I didn't feel like doing, but my daughter-in-law said she liked e.l.f. products so I got this as an experiment. The reasonable price is also very nice. Applying it is fast and easy. It spreads very nicely and evenly with little effort. You can then apply your foundation and other makeup right away. The difference in blending is the beauty of this product. When I am feeling like I don't want to bother with another step, however fast it is, I then have to spend more time and effort getting my makeup spread evenly. With the e.l.f., it glides very smoothly over the skin. I think I'm in love. I've shown the little bottle next to a 16-ounce water bottle for scale and shown that the amount of product on my fingers is more than enough to cover your entire face, so the amount they give you will last a good amount of time. I know I sound very enthusiastic, but this is not as paid endorsement. I just like the stuff. I hope this was helpful.

It works

This primer works pretty well. Its kind of on the oily side so you don't want to apply too much though. I'm able to just use a tiny amount and it covers my whole face. I like it because it keeps my skin from getting/feeling dry. It helps my make-up go on a lot smoother, and helps fill in some of my pores that get semi-noticable when I'm wearing foundation. The bottle is also really nice looking. It looks like its made out of matte glass and metal, but its actually all plastic. The bottle is a little bit smaller than the size of my hand, and the primer itself is a foggy white color. ***If helpful, please click 'Helpful'*** :)

This primer is AMAZING!!!!!

I am so relieved! Buying makeup online can be a bit scary, as opposed to hands-on in the store. However, one of the key elements of a good primer (in my opinion), is how light it feels on the skin. While, yes, it fills in pores and cracks, it shouldn't feel heavy like spackle! It should fill in where you need, but still feel like you have nothing on before you add your foundation and makeup. Sounds too good to be true? Well, this primer nailed it! It's not only light and does it's job, it's refreshing! A smooth, cool, satin feeling that disappears instantly. I nearly forgot I put it on, until I looked in the mirror! Wow!

I will be using this primer from now on! I love top dollar make-up products if it does top dollar work, however, I love saving my dollar if I can find a nice over the counter or drugstore product that does the same job, if not better! Other reviews talked about this primer having a terrible smell. Honestly, it does have a "particular" smell to it, but I wouldn't call it bad at all. Maybe more along the lines of a plastic smell..but again, I wouldn't consider it bad. I've been spending about $30 on primers and I won't be doing that anymore now that I have Elf in my life!
