For the past three years prior to 2019, my back yard was progressively dying and reached about 40% dead last Spring despite yearly applying the well known eponymous grub control product at the appropriate time and application rate . My order of 50 million HB from Bug Sales came within a few days and then were refrigerated overnight to wait for the anticipated rain which was during the second week of September 2018. Application was easily done by mixing the packet into a gallon of water, stirring well before each quart sample was poured into my hose sprayer applicator . Each quart was hosed onto about 2,500 square feet. It was applied just before sundown during a fine misty rain with a dark overcast sky. As I finished spraying, the rain came down in earnest for a couple hours and continued on/off raining for three days thereafter . Perfect conditions .For the remainder of Sept., Oct., Nov., I could not detect any improvement in grass recovery . Then at the end of Sept. for the first time I switched away from THE big brand chemical salt based fertilizer to a slow nitrogen release organic fertilizer which contained beneficial mycorrhizia and a low % of potassium ( no phosphorous ). This Spring my grasses' dormancy end was about 10 days slower than my neighbors - all of whom use chemical salt based fertilizers or a lawn service product which directly feeds the grass but does not encourage a healthy root system. Three weeks out of dormancy, and I could see those formerly dead areas pushing up grass ! Then, I applied the same organic fertilizer just before a rain and now I can report that the whole lawn is now dark green, getting thicker and some of the bare spots have new rhizomes popping up . Sure, the nitrogen in the fertilizer did green up the grass that was growing but the mycorrhyzia were re-establishing healthier roots and thus taking a little more time, but none of this would have happened without the nematodes preventing the usual grub invasion which made it possible for a healthier grass root system to be re-established . Great product !

I waited to give this review. We had ants, termites and fleas we needed to deal with. We got the Hb and the Sc verities. The Hb is listed as good for termite queens, ants, and adult fleas as well as many others. Hb stands for Heterorhabditis bacteriophora. I applied as soon as we received the nematodes and used them in a bit more concentrated then then was directed. The termites we had in an old tree and one wall haven't been seen since. The cat didn't have any fleas to speak of for ages despite this being a major flea area. The ants have been our major pest. Since we moved here we had been feeding them borax and sugar or Aspartame. Despite continually poisoning them they just kept coming. Found out we have Argentine Ants that have multiple queens making it next to impossible to wipe them out. Long story short the ants disappeared for months. Not a single ant for months. We couldn't believe it hardly. Talked to the neighbors who all have ants and have been poisoning and or trapping them with no end of the battle in sight. They all wanted to know about the beneficial nematodes. At least two neighbors are planning on getting some after hearing about us not having them for almost a full year. We applied it in the middle of May and only now next January are we finally seeing ants again. We will be buying more in a month or two as the weather gets a bit warmer. Worked incredibly well. UPDATE 2018: Still loving these things. I have been getting more every 1 to 1 1/2 years and have always had them arrive alive and healthy judging by how quickly the bugs disappear. I really recommend these if your having issues with the pests these are listed as attacking.

One day I went out in the garden and was literally attacked by fleas. It was almost like a horror movie! I got some of these nematodes and a week later - not a single flea in the yard that I could tell. I am assuming it was the nematodes that did it since that is the only treatment I used. Very happy with this purchase.

Received the worms today and spread them late this afternoon. Package arrived with a cold pack but it had completely melted and the sponges were hot (FedEx left the package in the sun). I was concerned that the nematodes would be dead but I own a good quality microscope and took a look at the water that was left when I was done. Lots of active worms wriggling around I am happy to report. Too early to tell if nematodes will be effective pest control for me but happy with the product that was delivered.

I ordered this with the 2-3 day delivery. I got it a day earlier than the estimated delivery date. (Shipped from California to New York). They were still cool, and I immediately Placed them in my fridge, since I couldn't put them out until the next morning. The directions were very easy to follow. I didnt see results right away ( like you would with a chemical grub killer ). But its been 3 or 4 weeks, and I realized I haven't seen any grubs while digging in my gardens! ! I have recommended this product to anyone who will listen to me! I couldn't be happier. I only have 2 small suggestions to add; 1)purchase a pair of latex or rubber gloves. Because they come in/on a wet sponge that you have to soak and squeeze out into water. And the thought of squeezing microscopic worms kinda grossed me out! 2) definitely use the 2-3 day delivery. It costs more to ship than it does to purchase but if you dont the buggers will be dead on arrival! Awesome product! !

In the past years, I've had Junebugs and Japanese Beetles that really tore apart my lawn and tree roots. Ever shake a tree infested with bugs? It flies everywhere and some even in my hair! This spring, I've investigated the areas where I've had damage from previous year and found small to full size grubs, about dozen or more under small patch of turf (about 12x12"). I've been spending the past three years on newly constructed house in keeping my lawn with organic and natural way to fertilize and hand weed. I wan't about to put down Grub X, even though it may have done the trick for the season. I've order two kits for my quarter acre property. Nematodes arrived promptly and packaged with ice packs. Ice pack was semi melted, but still cold. I've applied the first batch using the hose end sprayer per the included instructions on the day I've received it and second batch about a week later. In the mean time, it rained almost every other day in Chicago this year, it's been a wet year so far. Guess what? No more grubs! None in my lawn and none by the tree roots in the mulch, where there was plenty of grubs before the application. If you are looking for non-pesticide way of controlling grubs, I would highly recommend!

This Nematode product works really well. You just need to wet the soil well first and after spraying it where ever you are applying it. However, since I don't know all the bugs, Green June Beetles, Japanese Beetles, larvae, etc., that I may have in my garden, the next time I buy from this company I will make sure I get the combo pack of SF and Hb Nematodes for roughly $45 dollars or so to kill all the bugs/worms/larvae with each application. I bought the SF first, then realized I needed to buy the Hb also.

These things actually work! I live right next to a huge wildlife preserve and next to a creek. The last few years the fleas and ticks were unbearable, even my state released an infestation warning. I have used this twice now on my yard for my husky and along with his soresto collar I very rarely find fleas on him anymore. I haven't seen a tick since I started using these. I will continually use these and I am a firm believe that they work ! Trust me for the 45$ it's worth a shot, one trip to the vet for some nasty tick bite or flea related issues will easily cost more than that.

It's been especially wet this summer and with two dogs and a cat going outside, we were having a hard time controlling the fleas. I dislike using chemicals and use them sparingly as a last resort. The animals were already getting flea treatments, but my husband wanted to spray the yard as well. However, I garden organically and I dislike using any chemicals in the yard due to the fragile state of our pollinators. After some research, I decided to give beneficial nematodes a try. My husband was doubtful and I wasn't sure it would work, but it was worth trying. It's been almost 2 months now, and in the midst of a wet summer we are flea free. Great stuff.

After a week, the big dead streaks and patches in our lawn began refilling with live grass. It's been months since we've seen regrowth due to grubs, so I have to assume the nematodes have helped. There are many fewer grubs in the flower beds too (where I can dig it up and check). I'll be buying these regularly since we can't afford to keep the soil truly moist throughout the whole larva-bearing season in California with a bad drought. But, a fresh batch is well worth the cost! A great tip for applying them: 1) Get a miracle grow feeder that attaches to your hose. They're sold everywhere, inexpensive, and they won't kill the nematodes with excess pressure or small spray holes. 2) Remove the powdered fertilizer and save it for later (rinse out the dust, too). Fill the reservoir with water and food coloring so you can see when the contents of the bottler are reduced to "just water". 2) Spray your lawn at the speed you intend to spray the nematodes, and see how much lawn you cover before the food coloring is gone. If it's 1/2 your lawn needs, then use half the nematodes in the sprayer (then refill it with the other half and do the remaining half of your lawn). If it's 1/3 of your lawn, use 1/3 of the nematodes, etc. The nematodes don't care how much water you use, as long as you get the right number of wormies per square foot onto the lawn.
