Great gift for grandparents that they may not buy for themselves! Reduce falls in winter!

Bought this for grandpa! Loved it! He had been researching buying one of these but was hesitant given the price. However, the usefulness of this gift and the peace of mind that my lovely (but very overweight) grandpa would have some added support when exiting his truck - especially when their is ice or snow in the drive/parking lot. It's great to know I am reducing his risk for a fall or injury since he himself doesn't want to admit he's getting a little older and needs the help.

Elderly Dad loves it

My Dad's physical therapist recommended this as he had issues getting into but especially out of the car. This is such a simple tool yet works really well. Very sturdy, and easy to use. Highly recommended for the elderly or anyone who needs an extra boost and/or stability getting out of the car!

Very Helpful Device

This device is a godsend for anyone who has difficulty getting in and out of a car. It easily slides into the door latch to give a solid handle to help lift oneself up from the seat. The material gives you a good grip, too. First recommendation from the physical therapist and the most crucial next to the walker.

Very sturdy

This wobbles when you put it in, but once you put some downwards pressure on it, it's solid. It's helped an elderly relative get out of the car much easier. It's great for those who have to push themselves up rather than pull themselves out. It is a very wide handle, and easy to grip surface. I will get another one if it doesn't fit my next car.

Fantastic tool for getting out of the car

I bought 2 of these, one for my MIL and one for a friend. My MIL has Parkinsons and this has been a total lifesaver helping her get in and out of the car and provides her some stability. My friend had hip surgery and she uses it to shift to her weight and to help get of the car since she drives a lower sedan. Both women are so grateful for it.

Handy and helpful

This is so handy and helpful. My husband fell and fractured leg in 5 places so he really needs the reassurance he won’t fall again and this does the trick.

What a difference going in and out of the car

I purchased this product as my mother had back surgery. I wanted to make sure she was able to get in and out of our vehicle for the after surgery medical appointments as well as for the months recuperating. The Able Life Auto Assist Grab Bar was exactly what we needed. When I first saw it was at a local chain pharmacy and the price was so high that I decided to check Amazon to compared prices. Is so simple to operate and fitted our vehicles.

Works Great

This little gadget fits into the door mechanism as shown and works great. It should be put in when the door is open and then used to get into the car/or out of the car and then removed, and then the door is closed. The gadget can be kept in the door storage for easy access.

Terrific helpful item every senior or post surgery person needs

I just had surgery and my son drives me around he had suggested that I buy one of these because his small truck don’t have a grab bar that they call an OH Sh_t bar this works great I would recommend this for anyone just having surgery or for any senior citizen that has difficulty getting out or even into a car. It really does help a lot I’m very happy my son recommended this after I’m healed I’ll still keep it and use it I’m 67 and I’m getting to the point I’ll need the extra help.

I haven't used it but mainly got it for my wife. Both of us are getting older and her small car is just plain difficult to get out of at times because it sits lower to the ground. She says it was well worth it and with her knees helps standing and getting out of her car. Solidly made.
