A five-star review from a real user

I'm writing this because, in researching what to buy, there are so many antennas being sold for which you can't tell if the reviews are "real" or not. So many sound preproduced. I went with 1byone after seeing a good review (for a different model) on another site, and after noticing that some of the 1byone reviews on Amazon seemed to be from actual users. I just received and installed my antenna today. I mounted it in a SE-facing window on the first floor, and used the amplifier. My home is in a low area, and I was a little concerned that some channels might not come in well. I had done a TV signal analysis on tvfool.com, which suggested I might get 15 stations well enough to watch, maybe 6 of those very well. The closest I was to any transmitter was 10 miles, and most were between 15 and 40 I used my TV's automatic channel finder to go through and find channels with good enough signal to save. It saved 40 channels. I'd say about 15 of those were of a poor enough quality signal not to be watchable. But the rest were good to excellent, and the local CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, PBS, and CW channels were all of outstanding HD quality -- and the tvfool report had suggested a couple of those would likely be unwatchable. I also discovered some channels I didn't know about, like a local UHF subsidiary that shows the "Me TV" network, which looks fun. There were also several Spanish-language channels. So I'm very pleased with the 1byone antenna. Even with an online streaming network, I'll use it to watch over-the-air sports because there is almost no delay compared to the lag you get when streaming over the 'net. And PBS isn't on any streaming packages, so that's a bonus too, not to mention the "extra" UHF channels' fare. Cable cutters, buy with confidence!

Low Expectations, High Reward!

We just recently dropped our satellite provider and got Sling already had Netflix etc.. Problem with Sling was that we did not receive local channels such as ABC, NBC, CBS. We enjoy having those so decided to purchase this antenna. First off, I did not have high expectations when I ordered this but did so because it was reasonably priced and I thought eh, I'll give it a shot. Hooked it up today and IT IS GREAT!!! We get 18 channels! I have it placed on the wall right behind the tv as you can see in the picture. It is probably 5 feet from a window. It's working so well I'm going to purchase another one possibly two more for other tvs. Hope this helps anyone who is considering cutting the cord on cable!

I most definitely recommend.

Exceeded my expectations. It found 28 channels. They are all High quality. Super easy to set up. However, I did try to set it up on an older tv and it didn't work. If you have an older tv, you might need a digital converter box. I will be buying more for other rooms.

surprising good reception

Bought this antenna after reading reviews. Very good reception. No pixelation at all.

All of the websites said I was going to get 4-12 channels...

... and I ended up getting 42. I was so tired of paying $120 for cable. We decided to cut the cord and pay for streaming with sling tv. I live in a town in the middle of no where and sling doesn’t offer local channels. I bought this antenna hoping to get abc, fox, cbs, and maybe pbs or cw. I ended up getting dozens of channels. I had some issues with cbs, which according to the map the tower was only about 10 miles away. I moved the antenna to the wall instead of just sitting on top of our DVD player and it fixed it.

Excellent picture!

We bought the 25 mile version because all the antennas are within 10 miles of our home. We have satellite, but disputes have blocked out FOX over-the-air network. So we got this to watch the World Series. The picture quality is excellent! 720p, and looks great on a 55-inch LED. Super easy to setup, and yes, paper thin plastic. But great quality.

Better than I thought!

Perfect! Cant even notice it and the reception on it works super good. May get a little static sometimes but it's rare. Perfect to get basic channels in your area!

Works like a charm. Since cutting the cable company out and going with Sling TV I just wanted my locals but received a total of 54 channels. Yes some are in others languages but they come in crystal clear. Awesome product!
