Excellent !
i could not find these labels in any local store, and am very happy to find them on Amazon. My Mother in Law is in a skilled nursing facility, and I used these labels to ID her clothing. They have all stayed on, even with the industrial washers used by the in-house laundry. Update, these labels continue to remain attached, however, I want to add that the Sharpie Extreme Marker has been the best marker that I have tried so far, both on these labels, and directly on the clothing. Update June 2019, still using the Avery Clothing Labels with great success. Adding another marker recommendation : Sharpie 13763PP Industrial Fine Point Permanent Marker, Withstand Up To 500F, Designed for Industrial and Laboratory Users, Black Color

Labels Stay On and Don't Fade Very Much, Even After a Year
I bought these last year (the Martha Stewart version, also made by Avery) and just re-purchased them to label my son's bigger school uniforms. I really do think they work well, and 9 times out of 10 they last, wash after wash. I've had a few labels come off, but if you consider how many times I've machine-washed clothes with these labels over 10 months, as well as my younger son's "nap bag" items from his day care for the past 12 months, having three or four fall off is a very high success rate! The only downside is that they do leave residue on the rare occasion that the label comes off, but because I put a new label over where the old one is, it's not a big deal. On the oldest labels, the ink is a little faded, but nothing close to unreadable. I just use a regular black Sharpie (let the ink dry for a minute). I also don't put the labels on clothing and then wash. I wash first, then add the label so that they can sit for a while and adhere properly before being worn or washed. I actually like these labels as compared to the Martha Stewart ones I bought last year because they come in multiple shapes and sizes. Some might find that annoying, but I like the small oval ones for t-shirts because they fit nicely on the tag and don't need to stick to the shirt itself (an issue because the label shows through the back of the cheapie white gym uniform t-shirts they have to wear). Otherwise I don't have a preference for the size/shape of the labels. I thought the two huge rectangular ones on each sheet were a extraneous, but I figure some people might have a good use for those, and I just cut them into quarters and used them that way. On the next sheet, I'll probably cut them even smaller (probably into 9 rectangles) because 1/4 of one of those was even a little large for our labeling needs. Overall, these labels stay on 99% of the time and are still readable after many, many washes when used with a black Sharpie (regular, not laundry Sharpie). Compared to items on which I've written our last name with a laundry Sharpie, these labels last longer. On most clothing items, the laundry Sharpie does eventually fade to the point that it's not easily readable and needs to be traced over, so these labels are the perfect option, especially because I find writing on clothes with a laundry pen/marker to be a little difficult.

Awesome labels, but best to use BLACK permanent markers
These are great! For clothes and for everything that goes in the dishwasher everyday like lunch boxes and water bottles. They are soft on clothes and do not need irritate the skin. They held up for the whole school year after daily washes in the dishwasher. It faded quite a bit by summer time, and all I had to do was write over the old one - didn't even have to use a new label. But make sure you use a black permanent marker. I didn't have any problem using black sharpies, but when I used sharpies in other colors, they almost completely washed off after one wash in the dishwasher. If you want to use colored sharpies, just put a piece of tape over it when you are done and it won't wash off. But don't buy too much ahead of time, because after a while, the unused ones gets sticky around the border of the label, and they stick to your hand as you try to write on them.

Three Months on Baby Clothes, None Come Off. Great Product!
I have been using this product for over three month. My main purpose is a name tag for my baby's clothes including onesies, t-shirts, shorts and pants direct on the fabric. Surprisingly, it never comes off!!! The fabrics I have used are mainly cotton and fleece. Some of them were washed in a washing machine with warm water then dried in a gas dryer 20-30 times. As I wrote already, none of them has come off so far and they even look almost same as on the first day. I use permanent marker to write my baby's name on it. The ink doesn't run on the label and stay very clear. It comes with some types (sizes) of labels so you can use them for various purposes. I use the biggest one for fitted crib sheets, middle ones for bags, and smaller ones for clothes. First I purchased 1 set of the labels. At that time I was skeptical. Two weeks later I found this product is amazing and purchased 3 more sets. I love these labels so much!! I would say this product is one of my most favorite and it really worth to pay (even it doesn't cost much.)

Easy to use, held up well to normal washings
Wow! My first pack was a gift and I was skeptical but these work really well. I use them to label my son's jacket and other washable items. I simply print his name using a sharpie on the tag then peel and stick the label. It really couldn't be easier. After a year of washings tags are still readable. When I handed down items to my younger son I just stuck a new label over the old one. I can't believe how durable they are The pack has a variety of sizes. Some are a bit too small to write more than a first name or initials but then I just use two or three. The larger tags had room for 3 lines.

They last in the package and on the garment for years.
I bought this package of the Avery No-Iron Clothing Labels (mine is not marked Kids), over three years ago, when one of my kids went to Science Camp for a week. I used the labels on avinyl shoulder bag, canvas school backpacks, camera case, jeans, tshirts and more. For the last couple years, I have been labeling their PE sport clothes with these labels still from the original package. The labels still perform like new. And these labels stay on through wash after wash. I have used both a 'Rub-d'Dub laundrey marker and a standard 'Sharpie' Permantent Marker on these labels and both seem to perform equally well. The variety of sizes and shapes has come in very handy and the largest ones can also be cut down. You get 6 of the largest label which is 3-13/16"x1-3/16"; Twelve that are 1-3/4"x1/2"; Eighteen that are 1"x1/2"; And nine that are 1"x9/16" ovals. I have been very impressed with these labels.

Not just for Kids!
The labels are very good to use on clothing for those in NURSING HOMES. The labels go through the wash extremely well. I had some to last over a year. They are easier to apply than trying to write a name in the collar.

These labels stay stuck
Got these because of my kid’s science camp trip. I labeled the crap out of everything including his underwear. Didn’t have to though because he probably wore the same clothes all three days he was there. (Barf!) Anyways, it’s been over a year since that trip and multiple washes of all those clothes....and the labels are still on those clothes with not even a single edge coming up. I suggest a fine tip sharpie to write the labels but wait a minute for it to dry before you place on to the clothing etc. if you don’t, the ink may smear when you press the label on to the surface of the clothes.

High Quality labels
I bought these for a Girl Scout camping trip my daughter was going on. I labeled everything in case something was lost or left behind. It's been months and many items have been washed multiple times, and the labels still look great. Clothes, sleeping bag, pillow cases, blankets, brushes, toothbrush, water bottle and more were labeled, and they are all still looking great.
