... a the oval tract and we have hours of fun each day with it
I bought this for my 21month old along with a thomas a the oval tract and we have hours of fun each day with it!! Weve had it for almost a month now and we just getting ready to change the batteries as hes starting to move a little slow. It moves on the carpet, wood floors, the tract and even down the sidewalk. Would highly recommend this train!

Durable
Great price, adding to my Son's collection! These are pretty hardy, hard to break. Batteries don't last a long time in these, probably because it takes AAA instead of AA, so I broke down and got some rechargable AAAs.

One of My Son's Favorite Thomas and Friends Train Sets.
One of my son's favorite Thomas & Friends Track master train set. He never gets tired of playing with these trains. He has 7 sets of them.

Strong, runs great -- but watch for pinches!
This is a strong engine with the new "Trackmaster" wheel set that looks almost like little gears. It works best on the plastic "Trackmaster" tracks, but it still actually runs OK on straight and flat wooden track. If you're going to run mostly on wooden track, pick an engine that is designed for it. There's one very small issue: this engine has a realistic-looking coupling rod between the drive wheels (it doesn't actually function, but it moves like a real locomotive). This coupling rod swings up and down near the side of the train, creating a small pinch point between the rod and train body. It's a very minor pinch because the rod is very soft flexible plastic. But still, don't stick your finger there.

They keep going and going!
This James train is great! My son absolutely love all of his motorized trains. They stay on the tracks well as long as he does not lean on or bump the track to much. The train can even jump the track with the tender attached. They really make for lots of fun. We pulled out his tracks for his birthday party and the trains were a hit and the batteries last for a very long time. He even leave them running and they still last. I 100% suggest this toys for 3yo and up! You also have to be mindful of kids with longer hair and the wheels it will get stuck in their hair!

Well Made, Cheerful Bright Red James
James' splendid bright red paintwork makes him a flashy addition to the stable of engines that my granddaughter is collecting. James is a well-made addition of the line of Thomas & Friends engine. He chugs along sturdily on his battery-operated motor, and his bright red paint really makes him stand out in the train barn. James, and the other engines, get so much play time that we decided to invest in rechargeable batteries and a charger. Now the trains can be kept running all the time> Fisher Price toys are always well made and offer great play value, and this train is no exception.

My son loves trains... especially Thomas and ...
My son loves trains...especially Thomas and his friends! It's battery operated so it will run on tracks or even on tile or heard wood floor. My son seriously beats up this toy and even takes it into the shower with him...and somehow it's still operating! Had to get one for my nephews as well!

No track needed for this battery train
No track needed for this battery train but also works great on track. Our 2 1/2 year old plays with it non-stop. His mom loves that it keeps him so occupied.

Sturdy
These Trackmasters are very sturdy toys. My toddler presses down on them hard and has thrown them around and they still work which is pretty amazing. He can connect the two parts relatively easily and he enjoys playing with them.

Happy Grandson
My grandson was thrilled to receive this James Engine, along with two others. He lives across the country from us, but we got to see his happy face when he opened them!
