Work great as hidden night lights
I bought these , and added them to areas for motion type night lights. They work great. One comment is point out is that they say you can remove and move them, which is true. But the tape is strong. So it was hard to pull the magnetic strip once stuck. For the other three, I just pulled off like 2" pieces on each end, and stuck. It still holds, yet much easier to move, if needed.

I see the light!
I purchased these to go in my mater bedroom closet in those dark corners. The lights immediately sense motion and turn on as soon as I enter. I love that the lights are mounted on a magnetic strip, so are easily removable when the 4 AA batteries need to be changed. Have now stuck a strip under our sink in order to better see what cleaning products are buried back there, and in the kitchen pantry to better see the massive quantities of snacks we hoard during sales at our local memebership store. In both these spots the lights turn on as soon as the doors are opened. The only thing that may give you pause about this item is that the magnetic strip sticks to walls and doors in the traditional sticky way. If it ever had to be removed it will likely take paint with it. I highly recommend this product, however I also highly recommend making sure you know exactly where these need to go, and knowing you will want them there for the foreseeable future.

GREAT Light for Kitchen Pantry & More
I love these things! Evidently I got the older model that doesn't recharge, but I'm still very happy. I just moved into a house that fortunately has a large kitchen pantry - but it was dark and cavernous (no light at all). It's immensely more usable now. I love how you open the door and instant on! Right now I'm only using one and it does a great job of illuminating the space, but soon as I get more AAA batteries going to add one more. Also plan to add some under cabinets in kitchen and inside the bottom cabinets. These are supposed to have a one year warranty - I see where some have reported that theirs stopped working within weeks. That would make me sad, but it looks like the seller is honoring the warranty. I'll update my review accordingly in a few months. For now I'm really digging these and plan to buy more.

SOLUTION to issues with the lights turning on!!!
These are JUST what the doctor ordered!!! They're super bright and easy as hell to mount!!! Initially I had problems with 3 out of the 5 I purchased. They either wouldn't turn on at all or would only turn on when shaken...at first I was annoyed and considered sending them back but then I remembered a little trick I learned from a robotics class I took freshmen year. The most prevalent reason that some of these lights are duds is because they are not all manufactured with the EXACT same dimensions and for a few of them the battery chamber is just a TAD too long (I'm talking millimeters) for the AAA batteries to complete the circuit needed to power the light. This is most likely just assembly BUT there is a solution! THE SOLUTION: just get a tiny amount of aluminum or tin foil and (like a LIIIIITTLE bit) and put it in between the last battery you load and and the little door that closes onto the battery (or between any two of the batteries if you prefer). Just put in enough foil so that the little battery chamber door has to be pressed slightly and because the batteries are fitting snugly into the chamber, but be sure that the little door can still be closed and clicked into place. The foil will fill the excess space, and will act as a conductor between the batteries and the power circuit, which will fix any issues related to the composition of the battery chamber. This trick fixed all 3 of my faulty lights and they have been working perfectly for months. I'm not an engineer or an electronics expert or anything (I'm just a psychology student) but I do have a basic understanding of electricity and circuitry so I can tell you with confidence that this is a perfectly safe thing to do, it doesn't damage the light or batteries and lasts as long as the batteries do. Most of the issues described in these reviews sound a lot like the circuitry problems I experienced, and should be easily resolved with this technique. If you're thinking of buying these but are being dissuaded by reviews mentioning dud lights just take into consideration that this issue can be permanently, easily and cheaply remedied by something you most likely already have in your home.

Great for the college life
As a college student, you can expect the dorm life to not be a luxury life. The dorm I stay in has a built in closet, and there are no lights inside of it. So in the mornings, it's really hard to see what it looks like. I was looking for something bright, easy to instal and uninstall, with a convenient source of power. This was perfect! They are small, but very powerful. One light is able to light up the entire closet. I have a tendency to not close the closet door, so the motion sensor on the light goes off every-time I'm in close proximity, But hey! that's a sign that it works.

How we customized this awesome little light:
This is a little gem for lighting the microwave cabinet. Because of where it's installed, we only wanted the light to go on via the motion sensor when reaching for the microwave and not when folks were walking by. Also, the sensor that reacts to the light in the room was very sensitive and we could not get the light to go on without covering the sensor (it's opposite where the batteries go in). A simple fix with some electric tape solved both problems. We wrapped the motion sensor (in the center) with tape so it only reacts when there is motion directly below it (see photo) and cut a little square of tape to cover the light sensor. Now we have the perfect solution! The light pops right on when you reach for the microwave!
