Works as advertised
Purchased this to rust-proof frame rails. Works well and lays down smooth. I tried it both with a brush and a sponge brush. Works better with a small traditional brush (~$0.89 each at Lowe's/HD). Cleaner/degreaser works well and dries quickly. Metal prep works great for rust removal and etching. I hit the loose rust with a wire wheel, cleaned/degreased, then applied metal prep and let soak for 20-30 min before cleaning again and coating with base coat, which adhered well following this regimen. Follow the directions and you'll be fine. For the base coat, it says on the can to wait until there's a tacky feel to the base coat before re-coating (~2-6 hours). This only took about 45 minutes in my case, and it's holding up so far. I'm doing small sections at a time, so I do have to close the can after use. BEWARE: clean the lip of the can, as well as the top, extremely well before re-sealing. If you don't, the lid will be on permanently (ask me how I know). Additionally, one can of base coat is black, and the other can is silver. I didn't realize this, but it doesn't matter if you're using the top coat over the base coat. In one case, I applied one coat of base, let it dry overnight, then applied the second coat the next day after scuffing up the cured base coat. No issues so far. Frame looks brand new on the sections that I've treated and coated.

Super Simple rust repair for all body parts, not just floor pans and trunks
This is really great. I had some rust holes in my beloved Chevy Blazer K5 roof, tailgate and door frame and since I don't weld, 89 Chevy Blazers/suburbans are scarce in junkyards around here, and body shops are a rip-off (especially to women), I figured this would be able to fix everything. Of course, one quarter-sized hole after brushing revealed a bunch of other surface rust and such, so I just did everything. The rust holes in the tailgate and door frame were pea-sized, so I used the epoxy, which was super simple. I fixed the roof hole(s) with the fiberglass and that worked really well. Read the instructions thoroughly and wear the gloves when you're working with ANY of the the chemicals. I have enough to fix a LOT of rust problems, so this was a great kit to get. The lids on the cans are really hard to get off and you may end up really deforming them, so I transferred the rust preventatives into glass jars. It will eat the rubber seals, however, so put a layer of plastic over the top first. :) Also put plastic over the area after you've sprayed on the Metal Prep so that it'll stay wet the whole 30 minutes that they call for.

Great product - make sure you get enough for your project though
This is an excellent product - I got it to treat my M100 jeep trailer, which had a lot of surface oxidation. The package title should actually be "Floor Pan OR Trunk Restoration" as I only had enough to treat the undercarriage and inner fender wells of a 4x6 trailer - I intended to do the inside of the trailer too, but ran out of product after following the recommended coats for the underneath. No problem, ended up getting a roll-on bedliner product for the inside of the trailer tub. IMHO the kit does not have enough of the metal prep product, so consider buying more - also get some long gauntlet-style gloves versus the short wrist-length gloves you get with the kit. Follow the instructions, watch the youtube videos - get a respirator (not the mask that comes with the kit!) and you'll likely get great results.

Great product, just not enough product in the kit.
POR-15 is a great product! The kit just does NOT have near enough product to complete a whole floor pan for restoration purposes! If you were just trying to put a new finish on the floor, that would be one thing, but the lack of enough phosphoric acid to fully convert was the first shortage. There is more than enough fiber glass (power mat) material and degreaser, which was excellent! Personally, I would say the kit should include a half gallon of metal prep (phosphoric acid) and a quart to half gallon of each silver and black coatings. That would be sufficient for an actual RESTORE.

This stuff is amazing!
I restored my floors in my Datsun 280Z. I had holes in the floor, but with the POR15 power mesh - I did 3 layers. This works. Sand scrape to remove all loose crumbly rust. Apply degreaser. Apply Metal Prep. POR15 with mesh and repeat. I did inside and underneath the car with POR15. Took about a week to complete the job "waiting between dry times". Also put on the Bad Dog Frame Caps "not sold on Amazon" to complete my project. Did this by drilling holes and attaching with large bolts and washers. I'm attaching a photo that shows "before and after".

Great buy
Great product works as described I only wish that th cans were a little bit bigger. It's a teadious process I ordered two kits to do the trunk in my Chevelle. I really didn't need to do the whole trunk but I wanted it to be even just follow the directions and it comes out fine.

Great product, just play it safe!
Finally got to use this the other day, it took about 8 hours and looks phenomenal! REMEMBER, wear a good paint respirator and keep in mind if you're working on a classic car most likely has lead paint! Overall this is a perfect kit to repair rust holes, clean and paint the entire floor and trunk.
