Just get it!
Tiny investment for a healthier back. Initially I thought I would use it 50% up/down. In reality I seem to stand most of the day and not even think about it. I have 2 24" monitors and I'm guessing this is pretty close as to what you will be able to place. Monitors wobble a little during heavy typing but it's much less than anticipated. Also, with all fairness it could be my monitor stands in the 1st place. Height adjustment is very easy to operate and stable. My only minor gripe is lack of surface choices, I would gladly pay extra to have a wood option. In fact I will likely have it machined by a local shop. Varidesk, don't get any silly ideas but I would have paid 2x the price for the result.

Packing Box longer to dispose than Varidesk setup! Awesome!
Bought a year after being diagnosed with a sciatic nerve issue. Can't sit without discomfort. Long works periods processing photos leaves me sore for days. It took longer to back up the shipping box and contents than to set the varidesk on my desk and get my 27" Mac up,and running. One very very small thing I noticed is that the work surface is not perfectly level which leaves the Bluetooth keyboard to rock slightly as a type. Adjusts up and down with ease just make sure your cabling is long enough to reach power and Ethernet in the up position. One last thing, I've read reviews where some taller folks are saying this is not high enough for them. I'd say that they probably have desks that the unit sits on that are low to begin with. I am 6'1" and I am not operating this at the highest level. Great product.

Pro Plus 36 vs Pro 36
Let me start by saying both products are amazing. What it boils down to is preference. The biggest difference is the Pro Plus 36 keyboard mouse deck is on a lower level which I prefer (see images). My husband prefers to be at the same level when he stands up. The Pro Plus 36 when fully extended is about one inch taller and comes out about 8 inches farther with the keyboard tray. We comfortably sit both desks on a 23.5” (D) desk with only about a ½ inch sitting over. I really enjoy the Pro Plus 36 but almost went with the Pro 36 because I thought I was going to have a lot less desk space. I end up being very wrong. At home I have my Surface Pro 3, my 29 inch monitor very comfortably on the desk (see images). I have plenty of room to put more items on the desk such as ipad, folders, paperwork, and can easily fit my Moleskin planner on the keyboard tray. I also have the Pro Plus 36 at work and fit two large monitors comfortably. My husband and I work on the computer 10+ hours a day and the desks have tremendously helped our backs and our energy levels. The desks are sturdy but I wouldn’t recommend any heavy leaning while the desks are extended.

Better than Expected
First of all, it was so easy to go from box to desk. In fact, it took longer to open the box than to get everything set up and working on my desk. I could not be happier because it does everything as advertised, and now I can move up and down several times a day, something that reduces fatigue and increases my productivity. I use the up and down positions about 50% of the time each, so the variety keeps my energy levels up. For me, the up position works best for emails, webinars, video conferences, and when I need to get things done faster by keeping my focus. As an added bonus, the Varidesk also raised my screen in the down position by nearly 5 inches, something that improves my working head posture. The 36" version I got is large enough and sturdy enough to hold all my working tools well, while allowing for smooth and steady transitions. I am also now exploring with some of the middle positions for different work activities, such as when two or more of us are working together on a project. The only unexpected shortcoming is that I had to put my speaker phone on the top tier to avoid getting a slight background "tunnel" sound, but after adding some fabric under the unit, the echoing seems to have gone away. My only regret is not having one earlier.

In my previous job I had a standing bench with a stool and loved the ability to stand most of the day
I'm writing this after half of my first day standing, and I can tell you this product is worth every penny. I can't tell you how much I wish I had bought this sooner. In my previous job I had a standing bench with a stool and loved the ability to stand most of the day, and it only took me two years to get around to standing again. I'm so glad I skipped any half-measures and went for a quality product that does the job right. Setting up is as easy as pulling it out of the box, and raising/lowering the desk is dead simple and surprisingly easy. The only thing that is missing for me is maybe a few inches of adjustability in the keyboard tray height, but this would easily add a significant cost to the desk and I am 100% satisfied with this purchase. I will be buying Varidesk products in the future if/when I need them. I know there are a few reviews about it being wobbly, but I'd suspect they have more to do with the user's typing habits and the sturdiness of their monitor's stand. I can get my monitor to wobble, but I have to intentionally be pushing on the desk with the intention to make it wobble. The desk and my laptop screen move considerably less, which leads me to suspect the monitor stand as the prime culprit. Most are likely not designed for anything but a rock-steady non-adjustable desk. I wouldn't wish slowly wasting away at a desk on my worst enemy. Buy this for yourself. Buy it for your employees. Just buy it, people. Sitting is the new smoking, and it's much easier to quit.

Excellent for those with chronic pain
I'm a 39 year old attorney who suffers from fibromyalgia. Because I'm basically chained to my desk for 10 hours per day, my rheumatologist and physical therapist both recommended an adjustable desk so that I can alternate between sitting and standing. Most of the adjustable desks on the market are either too limited (plain rectangles) or too expensive. Additionally, I already have a large U-shaped desk in my office and my employer wouldn't allow me to swap it out. I originally saw the VARIDESK in SkyMall years ago and thought it looked like a good idea, but I wasn't ready to drop $400 (including shipping). I'm actually glad that I waited until my doctor recommended a sit/stand desk because VARIDESK now offers a number of options. I'm incredibly happy with the Pro Plus 36 version, which is perfect for my dual monitors (17" each). I love that the VARIDESK came fully assembled, so all I had to do was place it on top of my existing desk. It's incredibly easy to adjust the desk up and down. I'm 5'4" so I only need to raise it up a little bit, but at its fully raised position it is definitely tall enough for someone who is 6'2" (I had a tall coworker check it out). I do recommend getting the mat to use while standing, because it offers a nice, cushy surface, but that's probably optional for those who do not suffer from chronic pain. In summary, this VARIDESK is definitely worth the price!

Love, love, love it!
I got this over a month ago, and since I got it, I have yet to even pull my chair back and sit down. Now truth be told, I am not at my desk all day, if I were, I would definitely take sitting breaks. But as of now I haven't had to do that. I can tell it's making me move around more, walk around more. I got a nice ergonomic mat to stand on as well, which you will want. I thought I could get by without it, but only took a few days to realize I wanted one. With sitting being the "new smoking", I think all office environments should promote these within their companies. Make sure you take good measurements however, as I couldn't actually put this where I wanted to, because it wouldn't lift up without the computer monitor hitting a cabinet. I wound up having to put it in the corner of my desk, which I wasn't super excited about since I hate having my back to my office door, but it's a worthwhile sacrifice.

My back has never been happier!
I literally ordered this from my hospital bed after having surgery to repair a damaged disk from sitting too much. I was a bit concerned that it wouldn't lift high enough because I'm a tall person (6'2") but that hadn't been the case. After 2 days of working standing up I'm very, very happy with my purchase. The Varidesk is easy to move up/down and the max height is perfect for me.

Saves me from my daily food coma's
I don't always buy desks on Amazon, but when I do, I ball out. I purchased the VARIDESK Pro Plus 36 - Black and this thing is a BEAST! I have a 24 in monitor on it, a 5lb laptop, a 3 lb speaker, Corsair K70 gamer keyboard (about 3 lbs?) and some other office things on it an it lifts effortlessly. My pic only has one monitor active - I chose to do this in that I can also use my laptop as another screen and fit both facing me no problems (there is lots of space), I just rather have one monitor active. Pros: 1) it has many adjustable levels so someone like me at a height of 5'9 in is very comfortable with the assortment of settings depending on what I want to do. I think you should test one out first if you are taller than 6'1 or so as it might not be as tall as you would ideally like it to be unless your monitor(s) can increase height as well. 2) effortless elevation and de-elevation, you just hold in the two foldable bars inside and lift up or down, and even with 20 lbs of things on the desk it is nearly effortless. 3) it is perfect for people who have coma's after eating or just want to stretch a bit because it takes 1 second to adjust. 4) the extending keyboard area is perfect, lots of room, and there is enough room for a mousepad and mouse as well 5) okay at 400$, this thing is CHEAP. I have a convertible desk at work (albiet it is electronic, you hold a button and it rises), and it is like $1500. even the ones that are manual lift, anything the size of this one would cost almost $1000. Yet this doesnt compromise on stability. You can tell the build is heavy duty and will last many years. Its also very easy to clean because of the material. I've spilled stuff on it and literally wipe it away immediately with a wet paper towel. 6) NO ASSEMBLY REQUIRED! It is good to go out of the box (a huge box). Cons: 1) obviously it’s not electronic as I previously mentioned, just wanted to clarify that in case you were looking for an electric one (but it will cost you about $1500 for a good desk) 2) the desk is large! It takes up a ton of room on a regular table, I have a 5 ft x 3 ft table it will take up the entire space, you can't put anything around it, but bear in mind lots of real estate on the desk itself. 3) the desk is pretty heavy as well, I think the description says this thing is 50 pounds or so, you can lift this at the gym as a dumbell but given the surface area looks like this, i highly advice you to have two people set this thing up, you do not want to drop this on you toes. I really don’t have many bad things to say about this because I am such a fan of this desk, I mean those cons are minimal in my view, for $400 or so this thing is seriously the best convertible desk on the market, build quality, durability, and ease of use. PERIOD.
