Based on the amount of destruction this thing has endured, my male eclectus parrot loves it. I love it because the clips are easily removed and the back wall has several small squares, which allow me to readjust the toy to accommodate the damage and let him keep up the fight. Once he truly finishes this off, I will purchase another.

My conure didn’t quite like it at first when I took him to the cage after rearranging some things in there. He just kind of stared at it like “what’s that? It’s huge! Is it going to eat me?!” So I sat there and tried tapping my nail on one of the wooden toys to catch his attention and help him realize he is not food for this thing. He fluffed his feathers up a bit and went to it, to beak tap test it as well, then decided it was a bundle of fun on his wall and commenced exploring it. So now he’s quite taken to it, and I catch him on it a lot when I uncover him in the mornings for daily routine.

My parrot is a rescue who spent her first 17 years with very few toys and didn't have much experience playing - much less foraging. She's gotten much more enthusiastic about playing (destroying) so our next step was experimenting with foraging toys. I'm happy to report she took to these cups right away and now runs over to them as soon as she gets into her cage in the morning for a pre-breakfast treat. After several months, she's only destroyed one corner of the seagrass. She doesn't care of the hard wood or plastic toy parts, but I consider it a good investment.

My cockatiels love this toy and the "bucket" things are fun for one of the birds to forage (preferably millet spray...). I mount it horizontally, sometimes using sisal rope as they love to shred that, too, tied to the sides of the cage, so that it functions as a platform. I also flip the toy so that the bucket things hang down for foraging and playing. The birdies also walk along the sisal rope which is good for their feet as it is another size/material than their perches. Once the mat is shredded, I hang the buckets other ways in the cage so the toy is quite versatile. However, while I'd love to buy it again the toy is priced ~$24 today while I bought it last for ~$14 in 05/2018. That price increase is too steep. Though I'll keep coming back to see whether the price will go down enough for me to purchase it again as the birds love it.

Our beautiful Matilda is honestly crazy about this toy! It is the only one she can't let go...and she's a very picky lady. ;) High quality, descent size, well priced, and lots of fun! Will buy again for sure.

My African Grey just loves this -- so much so that I am now ordering her second one. She loves shredding the seagrass net, foraging for treats in the gourd cups, and perching on the top ball while "preening" the shreddies out of it. Sure, she demolishes it over time, but that's the point. As she chews through each row, I just adjust the clips and move them down to another row until finally we run out of net. Highly recommend!

My Senegal parrot loves this toy so much that she has two! One hanging on her play stand, I'll hide food in the hanging toys or take it down, lay it on the kitchen counter, and sprinkle seed on it so she can forage for the seed in between the mat. I hung the second one up by all four corners inside her cage so it is like a hammock. That's her favorite spot in her cage and it is where she sleeps. I can stick stalks of celery or carrot sticks through the holes for her to find too. I would definitely recommend this toy! It would be good for birds of a wide range of sizes. I'd say anywhere from a cockatiel to an Amazon.

I bought this for a parrotlet in the hopes of teaching her to forage. When I first received it, I realized it's much larger than I anticipated. The little coconut foraging cups are several inches in diameter. I figured at the very least my bird could just chew on the sea grass rope. The quality is great - smells a bit like plant material but it's mild and not unpleasant. The plastic pieces appear well made and durable (for a small to medium bird like a parrotlet, lovebird, conure). I started teaching her how to use it by putting only fresh veggies in my bird's food bowl and placing large and obvious pieces of millet in the coconut cups - so much millet that they stuck out the top and didn't allow the little plastic tops to come down. I'd leave for work and come back to millet all over the floor -- success! After a few days of this I drastically reduced the amount of millet in each coconut, allowing the plastic "tops" to close. I was skeptical that my usually-lazy bird would work very hard for the seeds, but without fail I come home and there are seed husks scattered everywhere. Since I'm only feeding her veggies, the seeds could have only come from foraging with this toy! Very happy that my bird learned to forage and I feel better going to work all day knowing she has something to do! Edit 3/21/17: I finally caught her foraging and took a video! Check it out :) Very cute.

My wild bird loves this toy. I hide things in the round cups for him to find throughout the day while I'm at work, seems to keep him busy & happy :) (I did have to remove the confetti/colored paper strips because he was eating it and it didn't say if it was okay to eat or not so I took it away as soon as he pulled it out of the toy.. just to let him play a little, but as soon as it started getting out of hand, I removed it and just threw it away.. game over!) lol The toy has stood up to some pretty heavy pecking & foraging and I would definitely recommend it :)

Wow. My Timneh African Grey, a great destroyer of things, has spent many hours tearing this mat up. She has cut it into little pieces with surgical precision and enjoyed it so much. She has cut the mat where the rings attach it to the cage several times, but not a problem - I just rehang the mat on another loop and let her have at it again. As other reviewers have mentioned, the little cups are perfect places to hide treats so she can go find them and dig them out. She has to work at it but that's a good thing - it helps her fight boredom when she has a challenge in front of her, and she goes about it with gusto. I'll buy another of these when she finally destroys every little piece of it (it'll be a while) because she has had such fun with it. Get one of these for your bird! The description says for smaller birds, as I recall, but bigger birds can enjoy this every bit as much if they enjoy tearing things up and let's face it - most birds love destruction!
