Absolutely nostalgic

There's NOTHING about this piece I don't like. The wooden box comes with an interior liner and two brass plates (Front ext and top int). There's another on the sun dial itself. The brass was a little tarnished (as brass typically does in time), but nothing a homemade concoction couldn't take care of. I like that the legs are adjustable with a few turns of three knobs, if you so choose to display it on a flat surface (out of the box). The compass- fully functional with a turn of a tension knob on its underside, The entire piece is reminiscent of a time long ago. Makes a great 1st year anniversary gift, or for a kiddo going off to college or for mere adornment. No regrets here! Great buy!

This was a very nice piece! I ordered it for a Father’s Day gift so I haven’t seen it actually all the way open. But when it came, I had to open and see what it looked like. Came wrapped in a lot of bubble wrap, and the box is definitely real wood. The compass is wrapped in allot of plastic as well, and I didn’t feel like taking the plastic off and putting it back so I left it alone. But from what I saw of it, It’s a beautiful piece. Can’t wait to give it to him for Father’s Day. Thanks allot!!

It works!!!

This is a real sundial. If you level it, align the compass, and set the latitude for your location correctly, it gives the correct solar time. Don't confuse this with modern time. The sun does not recognize daylight savings time, and it doesn't care what time a cell phone says it it. True solar time from a sundial is more real, because it is attested to by nature.
