I've used other car mounts before, and i saw this one on Amazon, with a lot of positive reviews, so I thought I'd give it a try. I bought it for a vacation trip, so that we could use Google maps for a GPS on our trip from Tamp to Key West and back. I have a Samsung Galaxy S9 with an Otter case, and it fit perfectly. I really like the latch mechanism - very well thought out. Just squeeze the 2 side buttons to open the side arms, and press the phone in against the button on the face of the mount, and it snaps down on the sides of the phone. It also has an adjustable bottom support bar for the base of the phone, so it will adapt to any USB port location, without interfering with the USB cable. The suction cup works incredibly well - a bit of a fight to get it to release, but it holds the unit in place like it's glued to the surface. The mount adjusts to just about any position (including telescoping in and out), and when locked in that position, stays where you put it. I'm not easily impressed with "gadgets", but I felt I had to write a review, because it is so well designed, and built. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs a phone mount!

iOttie is rated number 1 for car mounts because of this product. Application couldn't be easier - I have it fixed to my windshield, and being in Australia we experience temps up to 120F and the quality has not degraded nor has the pad lost it's stickiness due to the heat (which I thought it would!) The application couldn't be simpler - it comes with a backup pad too, the arm is fully adjustable, in 2 places, and I have a wider phone, and the phone (Samsung galaxy note 4) fits in snug and perfectly, even with a large shock-proof rubber case! Removal is just as easy, with the two clips on the side. What a perfect little ripper!

I have bought many different car mounts for my phone across the past months before i got this one and none of them really lasted...they all just kinda fall off after a while. When i bought this one i expected the same thing to happen but to my surprise it never fell...after a month of me using this a tiny thing keeping the bottom together fell off the holder due to me probably bumping against it hard or what not but i was easily able to screw that thing back in place...the adhesive that keeps this holder in place has earned my respect...this holder is worth the money even if its like $3 more than some other ones out there because this is going to be the holder that you won't toss out after a month. PROS: -Very strong adhesive -Able to adjust it easily Cons: -A little more expensive than some other ones out there Note: I am reviewing the HLCRIO121 model

This car mount is exactly what I was looking for. I had previously purchased a mount with one of those metal flex rods. However I found it to be not nearly study enough for the roads I drive on. This mount is amazingly secure from the cup, to the arm, to the phone mount. The suction cup is not only a suction cup, but also has a good adhesive to help adhere the cup to your windshield. If you’re wanting to just use an adhesive pad, they have that too,(included in the box!) the pad seems extremely sticky and would probably do great on the dashboard. Then moving onto the arm, it has a arm that moves up and down, at an angle, and then another adjustment that elongates the arm. Super customizable. Then the actual phone mount. This mount is great. You simply put your phone into the mount, which depresses the center button, which clamps down the two side arms. Oh, and that bottom tab? It moves! That means you can have it work with many phones, and still be plugged in for charging! You can adust this mount as well since it is mounted on a ball that can be tightened down, so it is locked in place. The phone is then easily one handedly released by pinching in the two side levers, releasing the phone into your hand. Overall it is the perfect phone mount and exactly what I was looking for! Extremely recommended!

I will never have another brand or type, unless others start using this type of sticky pad and come up with some kind of better, (I don't know how), adjustment arm or holding clamp. I purchased this item on May 1st last year. This January, a full 9 months later, it finally fell off the dash onto my seat. I have it mounted far forward where the dash curves down, fully extended and hanging precariously like a tree off the side of a cliff. All the hot and cold extremes here in Minnesota and all the vibration, bouncing around in travel, starts and stops, and it finally let go. I brought it in the house and washed off the dust it collected in the fall with a little soap and warm water and re-attached it. It isn't going anywhere again for a long time, except when I drive it around. I've seen a few reviews that complain about wrecking the dash material. Pish-tosh. (Pish-tosh? I know, I'm trying to keep it clean here.) I'm NOT saying it doesn't happen, I'm just suggesting that you slide a fingernail or a butter-knife blade or something thin under the tab and start to lift, then peel slowly. The thing IS meant to hang on to your $700 phone for dear life. I'm thrilled that it does! If you don’t like where you’ve positioned it, you can move the iOttie as many times as you like until you’re happy and be able to use it instantly. In comparison, the disks with the foam sticky pad suck rocks. First, you should probably wait at least a few hours, or even a day before you use it, so the foam sticky won’t weaken or let go. Then, when you decide that you stuck it rather permanently in the wrong place, you have to throw it away and send away for a new disk, because you can’t find just the foam part to save your soul. And the disk is harder than heck (I’m trying to keep it clean here) to clean off anyway. Not worth the effort. But you still have to clean it off the dash. They have to be scraped at, picked and peeled at and Goo-goned to death to clean your dash, (if you got it to stick well in the first place), and the standard suction cup that attaches to that disk likes to let go and dump the phone and holder any chance it gets. Vibration, too hot, too cold, having a bad day, you give it a dirty look, and it lets go. Then after a year in the sun and cold, the suction cup loses its flexibility and won't attach at all. That’s OK; you can just buy a whole new one. But the iOttie can be peeled off, rinsed off if needed and put it anywhere you like. Another location on your dash, your windshield or on your forehead, if you like.

Although I've been a steady Amazon shopper for the last couple years, this is the first review I've wrote. The reason I'm writing this review is this car mount holders ability to stay in the exact same mounted spot and hold my phone during a rollover accident I was just in earlier this week. I rolled my truck 1 1/4 times going around 60 mph into a ditch. I was not injured, just shaken up and sore. After I unbuckled myself and turned the engine off I looked for my phone and no joke, it was exactly where is was before the roll...right there in the mount holder on the dash. I even have/had it mounted backwards so the arm can extend farther. Plus, my phone is a Note 5 which aren't small by any means. With it being extended out as far as it was and with the weight of my Note 5, I'm impressed to say the least that it didn't break from the whiplash of the impact or fail to hold my phone through it all. I attached a picture so you can see where it is mounted on my dash and that it's still there. I know it's not a very clear picture but the only one I have of the front while still in the ditch. *I should note that my eyes were on the road when I lost control. It was a icy morning and I caught a patch of ice while accelerating which initially caused me to spin out. I don't want anyone to think it was caused by me looking at my phone.

The design of this unit is simple but highly adaptable to different installation configurations on your dash and other reasonably flat surfaces. The supplied thick sticky pad base fills textured surfaces very well. Highly flexible unit regards tilt angles and extension from the center. I use this for my i6S. After 20 hrs of driving over the past 3 weeks it has remained fastened to its base plate even with hot closed door temperatures. Pros: *Well Built *Flexible installation both vertical and horizontal. *Phone Rotator ball has adjustable tension wheel *Distance extension is useful for personalizing reach to the inserted cell phone *Supplied base adhesive pad is "very sticky" and has much better adhesion than all others I have used in the past. *Easy clamp and release features. Con: This is not really a con but a suggestion to the Manufacture to add the option of a second adhesive base pad should the customer want the option of two different attachment locations.

I love, love, love this phone holder!!! Before this, I had a holder that attached to the air vent. Unfortunately, it obstructed air flow and was not in the most direct position for viewing. I did read a lot of reviews before I bought the Car Mount Holder. Some said it took the finish off the dashboard when removed but then some said it wouldn't do that if applied per instructions. I plan to have my car for many years so I just ordered it. It's in the perfect position so I can see what's coming in (not that I read the messages while I'm driving). It's so easy to get the phone in & out of the holder. You just press the phone into the holder to close the arms & press the buttons on either side to release. The holder stays in the position I set it in so it is always visible...no slipping up & down or sideways.

Why did it take me so long to buy one of these!? I love it! I spent a lot of time deciding where to install it. I gave it some "loose" test runs, and finally picked a spot. It's perfect! I like the retractable arm, and the spring loaded perch, so you can just pop your phone right out of it. I did manage to use my port charger on my phone while it was mounted. It stayed firmly in the clasped arms, even with it slightly off center to accommodate the charger. There are so many directional options as well! I drove 650 miles (ea way) with my phone primarily in the mount, and it never wavered. I even took video with my phone while it was mounted. Follow the directions! Once it's on a surface, you're not moving it! I took the backing off the sticky side of the base 30 minutes before applying it (per instructions), and drove with my heater on to my destination, so the dash was well above the recrecommended 40°f. The actual phone holder itself also has a sticky, suction cup base, which really isn't removable one applied and locked down, so be 110% sure where you want it, and how you want to "aim" it. Great product for price. Highly recommend. Do not attempt to remove after installation. I've seen pics of dash damage. Mine is "out of the way" when not in use, and is barely noticeable.

**UPDATE** iOttie contacted me after seeing my original review (see their comments andcmy original review below), and determined I had a defective unit. They gave me a no-hassle, fast replacement as my purchase was still under warranty. (I did not remember I even had a warranty!) The replacement works great! Better than the last ther ever did! Just like version 1 of this same product line! iOttie gets 5 stars both for quality products and amazing customer service! I'm beyond pleased that this company saw my poor review and took the time to reach out to me and resolve the problem - especially since I'd totally forgotten it had a warranty and I would be covered. It works better than expected now, after using the replacement for a week. As I said, the replacement works better than the other ever did. Upgraded to 5 stars. These guys take care of their customers!! I had the original hottie Easy One Touch for my iPhone 5 and 6 and I loved it. That thing was fantastic, except when Apple started making bigger iPhones (I hate that, too), it didn't fit well in my original One Touch. I finally gave up on it and got this One Touch 2, as my original was starting to fall off my dash from time to time, and it didn't fit my iPhone 6 anyway. I hate the One Touch 2. It's absolute garbage. I finally became frustrated with it tonight and tore it off my dash. I gave it approximately 5 months of regular, frustrating use before I gave up on it. That thing simply will not sit still when you try to get the phone in and out of it. It moves all over the place, and you cannot tighten the holds down on it enough to keep it in one place. That means, when attempting to insert the phone, you end up having to screw around with it to get the phone in place. And then, half the time, only one side of the brackets pop closed when you try to put the phone in, meaning you have to take it out and try again, sometimes over and over again. Often, in the dark, you can't see whether or not it closed correctly and is holding the phone in, so as soon as you let go, your phone falls out. In my case tonight, it hit me on the knee - just right - and it kind of hurt. Ticked me off. Last straw. The other problem with it moving all over the place, no matter what you do to correct it or how tight you bear down on the thing that's supposed to hold your phone in place, is when you are trying to touch the phone to launch apps, answer it, etc, it moves all over instead of just doing what you're trying to do. Anyway, now I'm afraid to buy any more iOttie products after this piece of junk. If I can figure out what I did with my original, I will see if I can make it work again. Because this version is freaking terrible. As I said, after fighting with it daily and never being able to get it to work right for 5 months, I'm done. NOTE: I was really frustrated when I tore it off my dashboard. As forcefully as I tore it off, you'd think I'd risk the "dashboard damage" issue that many have complained about. I did NOT have any damage to my dash whatsoever. I am happy with that result. It's the fact that it does not work right overall that I hate this thing.
