What to say. Use gloves, follow directions. Worked well, covered cloth completely.

I periodically redye my black clothes to keep em looking fresh. Rit Dye is the best for this! My only tip is to leave them in the washer, soaking in the dye bath for several hours or even overnight to get the darkest black possible.

I have been buying this for several years; it extends the life of black jeans, sweatshirts, and socks by brightening up the colors. If you use it for socks, flatten them so they do not have a center crease, it helps the dye grab more evenly. Be very careful about pouring this - it is a dye and will probably not come out of something on which it is accidentally splashed.

BOOM; it's black now. All three bottles, three gallons of water, one pair of hand-sewn linen pants that failed to get a decent color from local black walnuts. I can't remember, I may have scoured the pants with washing soda. Cooked for a couple hours on simmer; let cool in the dye bath for another hour or two for good measure. And before rinsing, I sprayed them down with the RIT color fixer. Solid, unyielding, black. Couldn't be happier.

Worked to make my faded black jeans blacker. Used in a bucket so I didn’t stain my washing machine. Used two bottles for one pair of jeans. Would do again.

Works well to rehab my black jeans. I usually treat them once a year.

purchased 10 of these and did 5 pair of pants and some... pants turned out great, the and some, well there ok but there junk use around the house pants so i don't care. I over powered the dye and extended the soak time until i completed all of the pants in hot water

OMG! So I decided, hey, I am going to dye my couch. I know you are staring at your screen dumbfounded. You read this completely right! A second-hand couch needed some TLC in the looks department (hey don't we all when we get to a certain age and usage) and I decided I would try dying it with RIT dye. Literally took me maybe half an hour and my couch looks brand spankin' new and a beautiful deep brown. I will add pics later I have not had the chance to yet as I need to do a few more things to the couch before I show you. For those wanting to know the technique, I got a small sponge roller for painting and the small pan that came with it. I just poured some dye in it and watered it down, it went so fast because of it being so easy to apply while watered down. I will be trying it on leather soon and will update. Oh and be sure to put the object of your dye job on a drop cloth, it is pure water form and runs down, big time. OH and one more thing, it doesn't dry stiff! It's fabric dye! (I am now dying something else with the black dye and it is coming out great too.)

Grayish white pillowcases are now a beautiful shade of green. I also dyed a couple of cotton T-shirts. All look great and have washed well.

I originally bought one bottle and it wasn’t enough for my jeans. If you want the blackest color you will need 3 bottles of it. Simmer on the stove for 3 hours and the jeans look brand new.
