I was hesitant due to mixed reviews on the size and happy to report it is perfect!!!! My daughter is 5 and starting Kindergarten and loves it! Perfect size!

Let me warn parents that this desk is for young kids. When I stand it comes to my mid thigh (I'm 5'2). I bought it for my 5 year old daughter. I needed something small to put next to her bed and thought about a nightstand. I'm so happy I decided against that. This desk can serve many purposes for her and she has years to grow with it...granted she keeps up with it! The instructions came in a another language but the pics definitely help. I was able to put thw chair together myself but had my husband help with the actual desk part. Overall, I love it. Her room looks so mature. I just need to find lamp to sit on it.

In 25 years of being a mom, I've done a lot of assembling. I had to leave a review because this desk was extremely easy to assemble, all the pieces were clearly labeled, the hardware was blister packaged and labeled, all the pieces lined up perfectly.... it was really impressive and I had no problems assembling it alone. I would definitely go out of my way to purchase this brand again. It made my life so much easier and I'm thankful I avoided the one from IKEA that I was considering. ha

I bought this for my 7 year old daughter. She's average size at about 4 foot 2 inches. She's in 2nd grade. She has plenty of space and I anticipate a good 2 or 3 years use of the desk, maybe more. I included pictures to show the measurements that a lot of people are asking about. This desk is sturdy. It came with all the hardware (and some extras) and instructions. They are numbered pictures. I suggest looking at the next step to make sure you have the pieces facing the right way. With her bugging me every 5 minutes, it took just over an hour to put it together. The box looked a bit beat up but that's on UPS not the manufacturer. However, everything inside was perfect; except one door that has a black mark that I'm sure will come off with a little cleaner. If you are good with wood putty and painting you can put this together without the hutch. It really serves no structural purpose. You just need to fill the holes. I'm so happy I decided to give this desk a try.

It's not solid wood, but compressed particle press board like most furniture these days. The pieces don't all have identifying stickers, but it wasn't difficult to identify pieces. Slightly difficult to tell how to orientate couple pieces during assembly. Hardware needed better identified. Note that there are several (x10 and x10) of one type of screw, some painted, the others not. These were not identified as different so if you want screws that show to match paint, make sure you use painted ones in those locations. The lock nuts are different sizes to match the predrilled holes, so if you can't tell which way to orientate the piece, look at the bolt it's saying to use (Be careful to get right the first time because the length is different and I damaged the wood in one spot accidentally; fortunately in inconspicuous place.) SIZE: Perfect for my 5yo who is average with plenty of room to grow. I think would be a little big for a toddler, but would work fine. I estimate that I would not buy for a kid over 10 as if they weren't already too big, they would be soon. The chair is plenty sturdy and I'm certain a 200lb person could use daily without damaging the chair.

I was looking for a desk for my 5 year old when we begin homeschool in the fall. Despite the bad reviews, this was perfect. Im not sure why so many have been disappointed (it seems like most feel its designed for a teen or adult?) But its exactly what I was expecting and what I was hoping for. I waited for two months with an eye on it, unsure because of the reviews, and the price. It jumped way up for a period of time (over $200) before I decided to commit to it at around $180. I wouldnt have paid more than that, even though its exactly what I'm looking for. It is a little disappointing they have cubbies, not drawers, but they've still been really useful. My 5 year old fits perfectly and we haven't had any issues with it breaking in any way (will update if we do). It was easy to put together and intuitive. There are plenty of spaces for her school materials and for writing. Id say this would be a good piece of furniture for her room, even if we weren't using it for school. Ive really liked it and would recommend this...at its most reasonable price, that is.

My daughter has been asking for a desk for over a year, since her big sister has one in her room. However her room is half the size than her sister's room. She is only 5 years old and we were going to wait until we moved her to a larger bedroom in our home. However, I came across this on amazon and since it was relatively inexpensive, and very small in size, even if if it lasts only 1-3 years, it would still be worth it. I'm glad I didn't pay attention to the reviews. This desk is holding up nicely. My brother did a stellar job assembling it. It's such a cute addition to her room and she loves sitting in it every day to do crafts and her kindergarten homework.

This is a great product. I was amazed at how well it was packaged and how easy it was to put together. Every piece and section is clearly labeled and the instruction booklet is accurate and easy to follow. This build took me about 2 hours to complete. Very solid build One Con: The top of the desk scuffs relatively easy. My 6 year old daughter was putting marks on it within the first hour, but not due to carelessness. Still, highly recommend.

This desk was easy to assemble, good directions, and best of all, the parts bag! Normally when you assemble something you have to figure out which pieces are what but they made this so simple with one large package of parts and each part is labeled and you punch out the back for parts as you need them. Even a section for "extra parts" so you won't get done and wonder why you have pieces leftover. Highly recommend, my daughter is very happy with it.

Overall I’m very happy with this desk. We purchased it for my 6 year old daughter. It’s a bit smaller than I imagined it but the size is actually just right for her. The assembly was relatively easy. I love the drawer and side storage. In case you didn’t realize on the side are two swing storage doors not actually drawers but it works fine. We stocked it with writing and art materials and now she has her own space to create. I think the price was just right and it seems quite sturdy and attractive looking.
