• Single piece aluminum design provides solid stability and complements the Macbook's aluminum design perfectly.
  • Mount a laptop or external drive to the rear of your display.
  • Silicon padding protects your laptop and monitor stand from scratches.
  • A rubber cushion is provided to attach on your monitor stand to prevent scratching your laptop.
  • Compatible with all flat-panel iMacs, Cinema Displays and Thunderbolt Displays.

Great idea and execution. I love this thing for helping me maintain a minimalists desk setup at home. The added rubber "foot" so that your laptop is not resting against the monitor is a nice touch and definitely appreciated. It holds both my Retina Macbook Pro and my Macbook Air with no issue.

I attached this to my Apple Retina monitor. It was a perfect fit in the hole on the back of the support. It slid in nicely and mounted firmly to the monitor stand with a rubber gasket integrated into the mounting. My Macbook Air drops into the cargo slot with room to spare, but does not slide around at all due to the rubber mountings inside the slot. The is not a thing I could suggest to improve this product.

This is excellent way to combine your old laptop to that display, make it like an imac. Design and appears to be high quality and matches that of apple. Wish I had come across this few years back. Only issue I can see is, the laptop can get hot where it meets the rubber of the holder, I worked around this by slightly offsetting the laptop to one side so hot part is only next to air. Little off balance looking but still great way to combine the two, save space and effectively get an imac on your desk.

I have a BookArc - but I needed more space on my desk. After some research, I found this solution. Although I had some trepidation about it being sturdy enough to hold my MacBookPro - those worries dissipated once I attached this to the back of my 27' Cinema Display! I don't know how once could knock their laptop off of this stand - nor do I see it wobbling off. I have a newer MacBookPro - one with a retina display - so mine fits with about ¼ inch of extra depth. Great product - will recommend to friends!

Simple like all Apple related equipment. It slipped right onto the back of my Thunderbolt display stand. Docking and undocking my 13-inch MBA is quick and easy with both power and TB cables at just the right length to reach my ports with out extra cable hanging out. I still use my Twelve South BookArc in the study where I don't have a TB display but using the elago hanger with the TB display frees up some important real estate on my swing-mounted setup in the family room.

I really like what this does with my MBP 2012 and my oldie-but-goodie 30" HD Cinema monitor (the one that is so heavy it will only fit on one monitor stand on all of Amazon: Satechi Premium Aluminum Monitor Stand V1.0 with 4 USB 3.0 Ports for iMac, Mac Mini, MacBook Pro, Air / Windows PC, Laptop, Desktop ((4 USB 3.0))). The thing is so massive, that doubling its desk-space as a laptop stand makes it worth keeping around. My MBP 2012 fits VERY snug in this stand, I can still take it out with ease to force it off with the button (stupid iTunes), but when I put it back there is no wobble. It also does not touch the included rubber pad, it sits flush with the lines of the stand. It keeps the MagSafe 1 cable from bending near the surface of the desk since most vertical stands keep the laptop less than 1" high. I'm clearly being productive at work right now, so I'll provide a photo when I get home.

Great product and very, very high quality. They definitely took some time to design this item correctly. I understand what others have stated about the cables (because you lose the ability to route them through the opening in the monitor stand), but that's not elago's fault; it's a compromise you make for tucking a laptop on the back of a Thunderbolt Display.

Product is easy to install. Literally it is just like a hanger. It is a solid built item and you can tell when handling the product. I am currently using this for my Macbook Pro Retina 15 inch and Thunderbolt Display by Apple. I take an extra 5 seconds to make sure my laptop is in the center so I do not have tilting issues. When I do that, it is flawless. Saves a ton of space on my desk.

I was wondering when I purchase this shelf if it was going to be worth the money. If felt it was a little expensive for what it was. However, it's turned to be the best purchase to help organize my office. I love my Thunderbolt but my computer was a challenge as to were to put it. I thought of a shelf the Thunderbolt would sit on and the computer would slide under it, but I didn't like that there wouldn't be enough air flow to keep the computer cool while running. There were other items that would hold my computer up so the air flow would be better, but that took up additional desk space, so that wasn't an option. I decided that hanging it behind my Thunderbolt may be the best. There is air flow for the my computer and it would be up off my desk. Because my desk doesn't go up against a wall and it faces into the middle of my room makes it easy to plug and unplug it. If you have a dest against the wall, I think it would still be worth having to turn the Thunderbolt to connect and disconnect it. It saves space and is best for you computer.

This is a high quality piece of gear that provided a clean, smart, and functional solution to freeing up more desktop real estate to go with my Thunderbolt. I'm very happy with it. The product fits snugly on the Thunderbolt with absolutely no worry of it coming loose. The hanger holds my 17" MBP equally secure and I have no worries of it accidently falling out or being damaged in any way. Additionally I was able to arrange my cords in a manner that is very clean and tidy. Well done, elago.
