Bought to make sure my reclaimed wood was nail free before running through my planer. It picks up nails very good but it did miss some small thin staples like used to staple paper together with. I am happy with it so far and the price makes it much better than replacing planer blades!

I read several reviews about this metal detector. I'm using it to scan wood before I run it thru my 5hp 20" powermatic planer with spiral cutterhead. Some of the reviews said it wouldnt pick up small nails. I tested this on some of my woodwork where I knew where some of the very small finishing nails were. It detected them with no problem. I tested even more small nails and it detected them every time. It detected them from about 4-6 inches away. If you are looking for an afford handheld metal detector, I would highly recommend this one.

I use this to find nails in reclaimed wood before running the board through machines. Has saved me countless times from having to buy new blades. Well worth it money in my shop.

Works very well. I am using it to locate any nails left in wood I want to run through my planer. It was more cost effective to purchase this as opposed to planner blades. It also finds wall studs, by locating the nails in the wall.

this paddle scanner works perfect. I use it to find nails and screws in reclaimed lumber before i run the wood through my planer or table saw. works great and has not missed yet. I would reccomend this scanner to any carpenter or anyone who works with lumber.

I bought this to check for nails in milled and reclaimed wood before running through m y equipment. It has worked perfectly so far and I expect it will function perfectly for my needs

Use it to find metal in wood I am workingwith. So far it has worked great.

It's not fancy but it works well. I lost my wedding ring and we thought it had been accidentally swallowed and was in a diaper. Rather than dig through all that, we opted to get this little guy and wand them. We found the ring somewhere else, but I also didn't have to dig through a week's worth of diapers so totally worth it.

I use this for finding nails in reclaimed wood. Works great.

I use it to scan lumber for errant metal bits before running through the SawStop cabinet saw... it works great. Very sensitive; much better than I would have thought for the price.
