These meat claws are strong, sharp, and really do make shredding cooked meat easier. Before I bought these, I pulled pork (and beef, and chicken) with two forks. That always took more time and effort than I thought it should, and my hands were always tired and sometimes achy afterwards. So, for an upcoming family gathering where I planned to pull two whole pork shoulders, I wanted a better method. I ordered a set of these, but as the date of the gathering drew near, and I worried I would not get these claws in time, I bought a different pair of meat-pulling claws at a local store. Then, these arrived, in time for the gathering. As a result, I was able to "test drive" both types of tools. I have to say that using these Cave Tools claws is the superior way to pull pork shoulder into shreds. The grips on these tools allow them to work like extensions to my knuckles, and they really do allow the user to pull an entire pork shoulder into shreds in just a couple of minutes, versus what I estimate would have been 10 to 15 minutes of work using two forks, and would have resulted in tired "people paws" afterward. I have only one suggestion for an improvement, if it is not a technical impossibility of the plastic-molding process: make the backs of the claws solid and smooth; there are small indentations in the backs that can hang onto little shreds of meat that make cleanup a little more work than a smooth, solid back would do.

The products work as expected. I was a bit leery when I realized they are made of plastic - but after considerable use, they're just as strong and sharp as they were on day one. The highlight? A day or so after I placed the order (before they arrived), I received an e-mail from the manufacturer thanking me for my purchase. They also cautioned me with regard to wearing them and pretending you're Wolverine from "The X-Men." They acknowledged that yes - it's pretty damn awesome. They just wanted to remind me that the claws are genuinely sharp, and can do serious damage if you're not careful. I have to admit - as I was placing the order, I was actually thinking about Wolverine - and the e-mail was right on the mark. I have to wonder if they bother with the e-mailed caution when the product is ordered by women, who tend to be far more mature and responsible. 100% happy with the purchase, and I only injured myself (slightly) once.

I bought these for my Mother. She cooks for her church. Shredded pork is one of the big items they make for various functions. I have seen how many pork loins they go through and the process is familiar to me. For the occasional times I make shredded pork a pair of forks work fine. I figured she could use these, even if she prefers "old school" methods for a lot of things, especially her cooking. She called me the other day and wanted to know where I got these. She said they were amazing!! The shredding process with these was easier than anything she has ever tried. And using them to take the meat out of the pan added even more value. She even threw in the other ladies saw her using them and were just as amazed. Coming from someone who has been cooking for over 60 years, that is quite a statement. Now, will they hold up for her? Only time will tell.

If you smoke any type of meat and you want to effectively shred it? The are the claws for you! I must caution you, be very careful how you handle these claws. If you're not careful, you can really do some damage to yourself! PLEASE!PLEASE!PLEASE! Do not let your young kids handle these claws! They are not toys and should be stored properly to avoid being injured by them. I smoked a pork butt and had to put it in the refridgerator because, I didn't have time to shred it right then. Since the meat was cold, I thought it would be tough to shred it (pull apart) but, I was wrong! Using these claws totally crushed it! I think I finished shredding that 7 or 8lb pork butt in about 10 to 15 minutes. Clean up isn't a problem as long as you have something like a toothbrush that reach into the nooks and crannies. You can pick up a 10lb brisket with no problem using these claws!

First, I am not being paid to review the item, didn't get a discount, etc. I purchased these on my own with the hope that they'd perform as the description says. Well, they do. Lightweight yet well-made and sturdy. The tines are sharp, sharp, sharp. I've used them once so far (pulled pork). It grabbed the meat easily when I removed it from the crock-pot and then shredded the meat easily and effortlessly. I'm pleased. Oh- kids (and some adults ...) will want to play "Wolverine" with these. Don't. They are sharp. Definitely not a toy. Oh, one other note: I'd read a review that said they don't fit the hands well. Not my experience. I'm 6'0" and 220 lbs - yes, a "husky" man ... and they work just fine.

Hi guys! Well got my chance to use the claws this weekend. Smoked us a nice pork butt with a great rub and these claws made it much much easier to shred for pulled pork sandwiches & tacos!!!! Must have! I imagine it will work excellent with brisket too!!!! The quality is great, sharp pointy suckers too!!! Good buy!

These do the job they are intended for and are definitely made of durable material. It's nice to have these on hand to tear apart meat when it's still hot. You don't have to worry about trying to hold it still with one hand and shred because these are big enough to hold the meat still. Having these makes shedding large amounts of meat a quick job.

I do alot of meat cooking. Before these came into my life I used to big old heavy duty forks to shred stuff. Looking back, I'm embarrassed at my primitive floundering. These are not toys. They are brutally sharp and effective at shredding meat. The user guide is funny because it explicitly warns to fight the temptation to pick these up and act like Wolverine of the XMEN. I instantly did it then read the warning and realized I was being stupid. The claws last, hold up to abuse and RIP stuff apart. Will never be without them again.

I bought this item for my niece and nephew. He grills out a lot. In fact I bought him the necessary items to build a smoker grill that will roast a whole pig, maybe even a side of beef. The grill lid is 2 halves of a 50 gallon food quality drum welded together. He built it and uses it. He hunts and they eat what he kills. My niece is planning on canning meat from his hunts. I recently bought him a meat butchering set for Christmas and thought your claws would really compliment his grill and butchering set. He can use it for grilled meat and she can use it to shred meat for canning. I opened the box to check them and they are really sharp. I think they will love them. I told my niece about them and she can't wait to try them out. I am really impressed with your dedication to quality.

I cook a lot of chicken that needs to be shredded. I was doing it with forks but it took forever. I kick myself for not buying this product earlier. It makes shredding super simple. The handles are easy to grip and comfortable. The ends are super sharp so it works fast. I use one to hold the chicken the the other to shred. I have tried several ways of doing it over the years and this is the fastest and easiest way of doing it!
