My husband has nothing but raves for this battery. We bought the screwgun with a smaller battery (he uses it in a factory setting and it is in constant use). I told him they were on sale but they were a heavier battery, but would hold a charge longer, so we bought them. He tried them and says they hold a charge 3-4 times as long, the screwgun with the bigger battery is still lighter than the 18v Makita that the DeWalt screwgun replaced.

Purchased this pair for a DeWALT bare-tool re-reciprocating saw, and for an older 18v DeWALT 6 1/2" cordless circular saw. Both tools work fantastically. These large batts last a long time, they charge quickly. Nice to put in a new 5.0 batt and not worry about that it will die in the middle of a needed project. The old circular saw required the 18-20v adapter, and with its new 5.0 amp Li-Ion batt it plows through most anything. The DeWalt line of their XR 20v batteries seem to prove their worth, definitely run a long time and give life to old tools.

throws the weight off a little since the battery is almost 2x as thick and heavier than the batteries that came with the tools, so the balance is not quite the same. got used to it though and they work great for things that require long running time like lights and shop vac. also worked really well on my saw when cutting up a tree that fell over.

I wish I hadn't waited so long to buy these. They are awesome! I have a grinder, impact drill, and jigsaw. My 2.0 amp batteries were OK for the jigsaw - I could use one and charge the other - and perfect for the impact drill. However, the grinder drained those batteries in about 7 minutes! With the 5 amp battery the charge lasts long enough to finish the job, and that's with continued usage. Didn't even have to do any battery switching.

SO MUCH BETTER THAN 2.0MAH batteries! The run time on these is amazing. Especially with a brushless tool. I dont know how people could stand using NiCd tools. Lithium last forever especially the bigger batteries like this! Even my circular saw lasts FOREVER using these. Felt like i was constantly changing them on 2.0mah batteries.

These are the longest lasting of 20 Volt Dewalt line: Model - Capacity - Color - Size DCB 200 - 3.0 Ah - 20 Volt standard black - thick DCB 201 - 1.5 Ah - 20 Volt compact black - thin DCB 203 - 2.0 Ah - 20 Volt XR premium yellow - thin DCB 204 - 4.0 Ah - 20 Volt XR premium yellow - thick DCB 205 - 5.0 Ah - 20 Volt XR premium yellow - thick The thin ones are the same size and appx weight The thick ones are the same size and appx weight There have been major price variations on here. I have seen them sold on Amazon for as high as just under $200 for 2 and as low as $149 plus delivery which is the price as of the date of this review. I am sure they will drop some more. If you want the highest capacity available make sure you compare prices of the 204 and 205 then decide if the extra 1 Ah is worth it to you.

I bought these two batteries, price being a factor. Having 9 DEWALT tools was another factor. I use them, a 'lot'. Having these 'extra' batteries will insure I always have at least one FULLY-CHARGED battery on standby. The I-hour charging helps, also

I have a lot of the wall 20 V power tools. And like everyone, I have many batteries. The question is always which is the best size to get. It's always a compromise between lightweight and short use. Or the massive heavier ones which makes use on a smaller device somewhat cumbersome. I find the five amp the perfect compromise. For simple things like an LED lamp, the very small lightweight one will work. However, the five amp is light enough that you can use it on the lamp or power the miter saw or planer without a problem. This one seems to be the perfect size and weight for easy use on both the small and large 20 V power tools. I have read the reviews on the other off label 20 V batteries. I'll probably stick with Dewalt as I've never had an issue in these are factory DeWalt batteries. The biggest problem is the price. These are an investment. I certainly wish that an off label brand was reliable and the price would come down.

These have been getting a daily work-out in the field for the past two years and are still running strong. The 18v XRP pod batteries would be limping along at this point with the same use. I resisted making the move to the 20 Volt max platform as my older yellow tools were/are just fine as long as I kept feeding them new batteries. Moving on, these 5ah batteries are probably the minimum useful size for the 391 circular saw, IMHO. The 6ah is probably the one to get for that. Pure speculation on my part. However, the 5ah are killer in the impacts and hammer drill/drivers. It's hard to kill 'em driving deck screws or ledger loks. Plenty of pop for the better part of a work day. And the LED lantern seems to stay lit forever.

these will make all of your dewalt tools work longer. They'll also allow you to buy the 'just the tool' option for your dewalt purchases. That'll save you a ton. Just stick with Dewalt, which is a win. Don't go heavier; they'll add too much weight to your tools. But these are a nice bonus to work time across all of your tools without adding so much weight to them that they'll tire your arms out. Use the batteries that come with the tools, the smaller ones, til they're dead. Then go with these monsters til the smaller ones are charged fully. Then switch out. Doesn't matter which tools you're using. These will work with all of the 20v Dewalt tools, and no matter what you're doing, they'll work with full power until the smaller, lighter ones are fully charged. And two professionals can keep this going with two of the smaller batteries and these two big boys. So keep the job site working without pause with these bad boys; totally worth it.
