Received yesterday and brewed today within a half hour of roasting. I'm always a little excited to try a new coffee bean and supplier. I find that medium and dark roasts don't need to off gas long compared to lighter roasts and regions seem to vary differently too (any less than 48 hours of off-gassing for a light roast normally tastes bitter with my roasting methods). I instantly liked this bean; excellent black and almost as good with whole mike. I'm normally not so lucky with a first roasting of a bean. This has a surprisingly clean, earthy and smoky smooth favor. I did three dumps of 180 grams, 1st dump was a medium roast 2 minutes into first crack (approx 390° 7:45 minutes roast time in a whirlypop preheated to 260+°) 2nd dump was a medium-dark 2-1/2 minutes into first crack (approx 415° 8:15 minutes and very smoky meaning a laser probe isn't too reliable) 3rd dump was a dark roast 2:50 minutes into first crack (approx 425° 8:35 minutes). Second crack merger with first crack and began it rapid repetition around 8 minutes. I'm sure the favors will improve a bit after its rested some. The dark beans are already showing an oily sheen. Next I plan to separate roast a light, medium and dark. Last week I roasted a Brazilian I purchased from Matsuya Coffee in Japan from Amazon Japan (my 3rd purchase of that bean) it's been an excellent coffee similarly roasted but tastes quite different compared to this Brazil bean. I show images of how I roast, cool and brew a bean. The last and fifth image was taken on the 3rd day after roasting to better show the roast levels and developed sheen.

I bought a pound of these Brazilian Green beans to sample them. Let me say that loved the flavor and the had the right kick to them too. I am considering them to use as a base for my espresso shots. I personally don't think that the beans are Arabica, but more so Robusta. The reason I say this is because the green beans that came on my pack were small and definitely higher in caffeine. Either way, I score them high because I personally love both Robustas and Arabicas, and I am always looking to taste coffees from different origins, whether they are grown on high altitudes or low altitudes, each coffee bean has its own unique flavors. That's what makes coffee so wonderful! I will be purchasing more of these soon too! Oh, I roasted my first 1/4 pound batch as a dark roast and the flavor was awesome! Then I made a tasty technical mistake, I roasted the remaining green beans between a light to medium roast. Surprisingly, I discovered a buttery taste to them, a popcornish taste almost. I was not expecting this at all! I had some friends sample the light roast and they loved it too. I would definitely recommend to folks to try roasting a small amount between a light to medium roast to savor this delicious flavor too!

This coffee roasted to medium in about 12 1/2 minutes at 450, far less time than many other beans. The beans are small, like peaberry beans. I LOVE this coffee, it has become my favorite flavor when roasted medium. I find that the subtle nuances of different types of beans are lost when roasted dark. Fresh roasted beans have superior flavor and don't need dark roasting to give you good coffee. I roast in the mornings and start to use the beans 2 days later for best flavor. This coffee came in a strong bag and I could NOT find any stones or debris.

My favorite bean so far. I've tried Papua New Guinea Organic Wild-grown and Costa Rica Dota Estate from Amazon as well. This is hands down my favorite of the three. The Papua has a larger bean that does well in a light roast, but doesn't have any standout characteristics IMO. The Costa Rica Dota is a bit too acidic for my preferences. The Brazil Adrano offers a slightly buttery/nutty flavor which I particularly enjoyed. I find it does well roasted just two second crack and then removed from roasting. Keeps it from being too harsh in flavor. Coffee is very particular to each individual of course, but I'll be buying this again for sure and highly recommend it to anyone looking to roast their own beans who isn't looking for a harsh or acidic flavor.

This is the best coffee I've had, and I've roasted about 10 other types of green coffee beans. It gives off nice caramel, slightly fruity flavors, with only a hint of bitterness, but a decent amount of flavor It doesn't have a loud first crack like other coffee beans- when roasting them, and you start hearing a few cracks, it's time to take it off if you want a good medium/ light roast. I'm even planning on buying their 20lb bag directly from them, since it is so good. I also have health issues, and react to some coffee's, but not at all to this one, which might mean it's very low mold (but is also very low acid). Even though it's much more expensive than getting already roasted coffee at costco, if you're interested in coffee with great flavor, and prefer to leave out the charcoal flavors found in most pre-roasted coffee, this is one of the best!

These beans were very easy to work with and stable. It roasts pretty evenly at varying roast profiles. I tried light, medium and dark in an air roaster, with varying external temperatures. The scent is just glorious and magical. Our house and garage, where I eventually moved to since setting the smoke alarm on my first run, were smelling like rich chocolate brownies for a couple days after roasting. Every time I made coffee in the morning it would smell like chocolate coffee for a few hours. It produces a lot of that oil you want for a thick cream. I use an Aeropress, and even from that I am able to tell and see that crema/buttery layer of oil on the surface. I did several cuppings with the three roast profiles and hints of chocolate and something fruity, like berries, was noted. I tried a brewing with just the dark, just light, just medium, dark+medium and dark+light and our favorite is the dark+light blend. Brewing with just the light roast rendered a very bright flavor which some may call "sour". It was an interesting coffee personality in itself but not a personal preference. Brewing with just the dark, we thought it lacked body and depth. Brewing with dark+light improved the flavor a tad bit. Will be trying another blend soon with Colombian and/or Nicaraguan. Hoping to produce that 'perfect' espresso cup.

This coffee is fantastic. I am new to roasting my own beans and I was extremely pleased with the result. It has earthy, smoky butterscotch notes with a smooth mouth feel. I have brewed with a french press as well as espresso (using a Bialetti Moka Express). This bean is delicious as a Mocha. I use a toaster oven for roasting, which yields a somewhat uneven roast. Perhaps that leads to the noted complexity. If you are considering giving this a try, do. You won't be disappointed.

Wow. This stuff was delicious. These were the first green coffe beans I've ever purchased as well as the first I've roasted. They've ruined store bought coffee for me because nothing tastes as good as these. Ok I'm sure that's not true, but from where I'm sitting... The other thing is that the beans were very clean and good quality. I purchased several pounds from another supplier after these (haven't roasted them yet) and these are muuuuuuuch better. For what it's worth, I liked these nice and dark (into second crack) but a lighter roast was wonderful as well.

This was my first attempt at roasting coffee and it turned out great (taste-wise) using a hot air popcorn popper! What a HUGE difference from any store-bought beans I've used! Love it dark roasted (15 seconds into 2nd crack) for cappucino & latte! I'll definitely buy this again!

I have bought these a couple time on Amazon and then went straight to Heirloom for larger bags as we are in the process of opening a restaurant where we will be roasting our own coffee beans. These are - by far - the best beans I've come across to date. And I have tried at least 15 different beans for roasting. We are using the 2lb Sonofresco air bed roaster and the Adrano blend gives off an amazing chocolate smell as they hit first crack and just past this. I have settled on a medium dark roast to keep any "charcoal" aroma out of the end roast and the result is simply amazing. Great blend!
