I got this for one, and only one reason: to stream ps4 games. My ps4 is in an area that has no wired ethernet connection, and is very difficult to get one there. So I use Wifi. Please note: if you don't have a hard-wired ethernet cable, you need a Very clean wifi signal to be successful. But it is possible. My first attempt (using my existing 2.4 Ghz 802.11 wifi) was not very playable. I live near appartments, so the 2.4 ghz signal was very crowded. I got a new super-cheap wiki access point to dedicate to the ps4, and put it as close as I could get. That helped immensely, but still had occasional issues. I ended up buying a much more capable wifi system (I needed a new one anyway) and a 802.11AC (5ghz) access point to connect to the ps4. (Why didn't the ps4 come with 5ghz?!) That got rid of the contention with my neighbors signals, and now things work much better, but there are still occasional issues. Also note, when this is working at 100%, it's still not the quality of the actual ps4. The image quality suffers a bit, and I think you can only get stereo, not surround sound.

For the cost of this little device, it is simply worth playing your PS Vita games on your TV. You can sync up to 4 controllers, either PS3 or PS4 controllers will work. Put your memory card in and vita game, hook up the HDMI cable and you are set. Simple. If you want this system to hook into your network, I suggest using a RJ 45 cable and you are ready to go after you sync it to your PS 3 account or PS 4 account. Anyone getting this below 40 dollars is getting it for a steal. The other point here that is worth mentioning is you can link to your PS 4 to another TV in your house through your Wi-Fi. Spend the money and enjoy!

There is not much to be said about the PSTV that hasn't been said before. And it was discontinued so "get yours while it lasts". I "downgraded" from a Vita to this. If you're here for the same reasons I was before, you'll know why (hint below). Anyway, the cons: 1. Resolution is not that great for the XMB (or whatever you call the desktop on the Vita). 2. Still uses proprietary Sony Vita cards obviously so those eventually will die, so better try and get ahold a few if you intend to keep this thing running for a long time (I do). 3. The box is unnecessarily BIG. Pros: 1. Resolution of Vita games on the big screen is awesome. 2. Comes with low firmware (wink) and will always do if brand new. 3. Small. Like CRAZY small. Beautiful. So no big unnecessary hardware. This thing could even sit behind your TV with some velcro and nobody would notice (except for the power cable). Hence, the reason why I don't understand the big box on this one. It's literally a big fat credit card, an HDMI cable and a small wall adaptor. Overall if you wanna bring the Vita experience to the big screen, do it. Order before it becomes a collector's item. And if you want a low firmware Vita... order it already! PS: Item fulfilled by Amazon and sold by Above All Games.

My younger sister has wanted one for a year or so. While she loves playing PS Vita games, she hates the screen. (I don't blame her because, it's so small.) So, she's tried to find cheap ones online a few times. However, we got around to checking a local Gamestop,...just to learn that the nearest one was out-of-state. So, we went home and ordered this. First off, the delivery was pretty fast because, I placed my order on a Thursday and got it the next day. For the record, I chose two-day shipping and it was during the holidays. In addition, it didn't take long for my younger sister to set it up. Granted, it might've taken a bit longer to log into her account. However, it only took a few minutes. Furthermore, the real fun started when my sister at least played the opening for several games. That let me know that compatibility wouldn't be an issue. (That and she found a list about that.) However, I was worried that Persona 4 Golden wouldn't retain its original camera angle inside the dungeons. That seemed to be the case at first when I watched her play. So, I became worried that I would suck...until I got around to playing. It turns out that worry was unfounded. On the other hand, I noticed an issue when my younger sister played the second Danganronpa game. There was a rhythm-based mini-game towards the tail end of the trial. She struggled to the point that she had to use Fever Time to complete it. She then told me that the system messed up the timing. I could've guessed that from watching her complete Rhythm Heaven Fever. (I've seen how difficult that can be because, the final remix is a combination of all the mini-games.) All that said, this is one of the best systems I've ever used. However, I suggest making sure your games will work because, even the cheapest one will cost a pretty penny.

I bought this solely to stream my ps4 into another room and it works perfectly in 1080i. My PS TV is in my living room hard wired to the router and the ps4 is four rooms over, in my office on a hard-line connector. PS TV set up was super easy, logged in with my psn+ account DL a firmware update. Once it restarted it connected to my ps4 under a minute and started the true test of lag, Call of Duty. It passed with flying colors, I haven't tested it on WiFi I can't imagine it doing well tbh. Added bonus I have a Vita on my living room TV for the wife or kids to play. PSN+ account gives me two free vita games a months plus there's free to play games right on psn. I synched my #3 ps4 controller and an old Bluetooth ear piece to it. If you don't have a vita and want to use the pstv as one you'll need a vita memory card, I got one used at a local shop cheap. Best $34 spent ever.

My primary purpose for buying this is to play games on the hardware itself and not for streaming/multimedia consumption. I use the DualShock 3 controller from my PlayStation 3, which works well enough, but the updated DualShock 4 is probably a slightly better choice on account of its built-in touchpad. Note that you can turn on a setting to emulate the touchpad for the DS3, but its operation is slightly awkward. All the PlayStation Vita games I own are compatible with the PSTV. While I won't hold my breath, I would love Sony's final firmware update for this device to whitelist the entire library. Vita hardware is still pretty pricey, even on the second-hand market, so the TV is a great budget friendly way to dabble your toes in a console that is, in my opinion, highly underrated.

Couldnt ask for anything better, bought two of them so i could travel with one and have one in the living room while my PS4 is in the bedroom. The quality is great on a home network sometimes i forget im using the remote play feature at all. when traveling depending on your location and the network you're on can be a hit or miss because it does require fast internet to play smoothly and in HD. i believe sony recommends a download and upload of 12Mbps for HD play at both ends. I use the Playstation TV mainly for remote play of ps4 games but it does also offer other features such being a PS Vita for your TV and being able to use PS Now for Ps3 games and backwards compatible for PS one games so it has many many gaming possibilities and perks for a cheap price. really happy with what sony did. plus its small so it doesnt take up space like a console or dvd player and can be hidden behind the tv.

A great device for anyone that wants to play Vita games or PS4 games in another room in your home. I was surprised about the PlayStation TV, and even though I had researched the product before purchasing I still felt like I had no idea what it was capable of or how accessible everything was. It is essentially a PS Vita without a screen but with an HDMI port. So here is a quick breakdown of what it does and has. Capabilities: Plays Vita Games though it doesn't play all Vita games (See lists online) - Either download them from your account or it has a Cartridge Slot Plays PSP games (only digital but it plays a large majority of them) Plays PS1 games (only digital but the list is extensive) Plays PS4 games (if you own a PS4 already it will function like a Vita and has PS4 Link to play remotely) Plays PSNow games (not a service I use but it will play PSNOW rentals) Can connect a PS3 or PS4 controller wirelessly to it to play all of the games listed above Can access touchscreen functions of some games through controller settings (look online for help) Disadvantages: You need to order a VITA memory card with it because it only has 1GB internal (which isn't much) and this isn't really advertised often. PS4 games can look and play with poor framerates. Just don't expect 1080 resolution when remote playing through wireless especially. It doesn't play a lot of Vita games but this is mainly due to them having touchscreen functions that can't be emulate with a PS4 controller. So overall if you are looking for something that plays your PSP/PS1 Classics/Vita games on your TV this is a great device. It also is super cheap right now and not even close to the cost of a Console/Portable system or even a fully priced game. I enjoy it and am glad I got it.

I own a ps4 pro and am gone a lot. In order for me to enjoy my console without taking it places and potentially harming it, I purchased the vita TV! While having my console hardwired to the internet, I can take this block anywhere I want and stream my ps4 to this device. It's the size of my wallet, takes seconds to physically connect. Upon startup it takes just a mere moments to link into your console(longer if the console needs to power on via the internet). There is roughly 1second of latency between button push and the action. I would not recommend if you plan to link and then play a game requiring accuracy. The vita TV does have issues finding the console through the web sometimes. Overall, a great cheap way to take your gaming on the go(other options include expensive Sony phones, or the Ps vita. All which are way more expensive than the vita TV).

UPDATE!!! I have had this for a year. I now have 3 of these so I can play my PS4 on my tvs in my bedroom, my kids room, and my back porch. I even took one on a business trip half way across the country and played my PS4 in a hotel room in San Antonio while the PS4 was back in Atlanta. BOOM! That's right! You want a streaming box? get a fire stick or something. BUT if you want to play your PS4 freaking ANYWHERE get one of these bad boys. I resolved the WiFi speed issue on the faster paced games by just running Cat5 to my PSTV from the router/hub. NOw I can literally play any game and have no issues at all. Original Post below... It is true and a mild inconvenience that this thing doesn't do Netflix or Prime video. HOWEVER, this thing is awesome for game play. I have had one for a month now and utilize it nearly every day. I play my PS4 remotely from my back porch. Now, it doesn't do so well on games like Call of Duty where there is an insane amount of action and very fast movement using WiFi but every other game I have played on it is good. I am buying another one for my bedroom and maybe even my kids bedroom.
