Ordered it on a Thursday and received it the next Wednesday. It was shipped from California via UPS and arrived in Florida. First, the packaging was excellent. Double-boxed with straps around both boxes.Very well packaged inside both boxes. The actual shipping weight was 104 lbs. The freezer was 57 lbs. That tells you how well it was packaged. As for operation, I waited 24 hours before plugging it in. This is to let the refrigerant settle in the compressor. Finally, I plugged it in. It's been running for 6 days. No problems. The unit runs very quiet. I had to reverse the door. There was some residual foam insulation in the threads for one screw, but it was easy to clean it out. The only 2 items I would comment on was the outer box does not have any indication of how to place it (this end up arrows) and the instructions for removing the freezer from the boxes were packed inside the freezer!

Great little freezer

I switched from a full size freezer to this smaller one because I don't need as much freezer space anymore. This is very nice. It's packaged well and it's not too heavy. I'm a small woman and was able to move it with a small two wheeler, I would imagine that if you're a man you could pick it up. It's an energy saver, the tag says it should only cost $29 a year to run. The only design I don't like is that the temperature control is in the back. Once you set it where you want it you probably won't be changing it but when it comes time to defrost you need to turn it off. It's not a big deal because it's easy to pull out to turn the dial but it would be a bit more convenient to have the dial on the side or inside the freezer.

Perfect for needed extra freezer space

There never seemed to be quite enough freezer space in my refrigerator. I sometimes threw away food for lack of space. I did not want to buy a large freezer nor did I want to buy an extra full size refrigerator. The size of this is perfect. I like that it is upright and opens like a refrigerator rather than horizontal, opening from the top. There are 3 defined areas with baskets, which makes finding things a bit easier. I do not know if it could be used without the baskets as the coils are right there; seems like not enough protection for the coils if items were placed directly on shelves. There are no shelves on the inside of the door. That is fine with me, as it is not a large freezer and that feature would take away from shelf space in the main part of freezer. I know that noise is a concern. I don't notice it but the freezer is downstairs from my kitchen in the laundry room. I have never noticed more than a "hum" when next to it and it is running. Delivery was very fast. Two concerns prompted me to call customer support when it was delivered. One concern, it is doubled packed with alert labels on the outer box to keep it upright. However, when I opened the outer carton I realized that the inner carton was upside down. Not good. The other concern was I have heard that an appliance like this should not be plugged in right away. Unpack it, set it up but let it sit and settle for 24 hours. Nowhere in the packaging was this mentioned. I spoke to someone at customer support who was concerned that the freezer arrived upside down but assured me that if I had a problem they would take care of it. He also said he would inform the shipping department. As it turned out I have not had a problem. He also confirmed that I should not use it right away. He suggested 8 or so hours before plugging it in and starting it. Maybe this is really common knowledge and I was just unaware. If it is important, seems it should be stated in packing material for those who like me are uninformed? I do wish it was self defrost but after a thorough search I had not seen a small freezer that was, maybe technology is just not there. So far, no need to defrost it after a month of use. Overall, this is a perfect solution to the not enough freezer space in the refrigerator problem. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this.

Could not be more pleased!

LOVE IT!!! We had been looking for these for quite some time (drooling really) As soon as Amazon had it listed at this price with free shipping we bought it (best price we could find after 4 months of watching online and not available anywhere for in-store pickup). I wanted a vertical chest freezer but our limited space did not allow for it and from my research this appeared to be the winning ticket and it was. Its nearly silent! I mean its so quiet I cant hear it standing next to it - I have to put my ear up to it. The storage capacity seem to be more than I was expecting. Easy to level. I like the looks a lot. my only complaint would be that the drawer movement is a little stiff but not enough that even remotely upset about it. If you only need 2 to 3x times your current freezer storage, this is the winning ticket! PRO-TIP: after situating the freezer and getting it level, let it settle for 24 hours before pluggin it in - this helps with compressor noise and protects against damage. We also bought the extended warranty through amazon, it was half the price that I saw through other retailers.

Bought this unit 2 years ago. Quiet, effective, just great. This week, a power outage had us down for 40 hours. The contents of the freezer were still very solidly frozen after all that time without power.

I got this product based on other good reviews. I needed more room for all my wild game meat and grass fed cow that I split with others. It seals closed every time, the baskets are deep and hold a lot. I didn't have a lot of space for a large freezer, so I ended up placing it on top of my mini fridge and its solid & stable. Would recommend this freezer!

Love this freezer!!

After reading many reviews we were worried about ordering this product online since all previous reviews indicated their freezer arrived with major dings and dents!! This arrived in perfect, perfect shape. We bought it for our motorhome where it fits perfectly, we can't be more pleased. Other people suggested to leave it upright for 24 hours before plugging it in so we are waiting for that, but just in case I bought the insurance for $30 for 3 years, I can't be more pleased with this purchase. I also love that all 3 shelves inside have their own basket to keep stuff from sliding out when you open door.

Compact Convenience, Sleek Design

This is a great size and the stainless steel is seamless with the rest of our kitchen appliances. We had a perfectly working white one, but its bulky size and dingy front never really appealed. Love this compact yet roomy freezer. Works great and makes it convenient to cook ahead and buy lots of veggies and healthy options to have on hand.

Awesome little freezer!

I got this freezer to store my meal prep in and it is fantastic! The stainless steel is beautiful, the compressor is whisper quiet, and it does not seem to frost over too quickly. I've had it about 5 months now and while it has some frost, it is no where near needing defrosting. I would guess defrosting around once a year or so would be enough. It has made my life so much easier by freeing up space in my top-mount freezer and keeping all my meal prep organized in the included baskets. I shopped around quite a bit, and couldn't be happier with my purchase.
