• Slice safety blades' unique cutting edge might seem dull, but it cuts right through your material while keeping you safe! Slice blades are finger-friendly and safe to the touch. Cuts Right or Left Handed!
  • Other blades are dangerously sharp. Slice blades start at a safe and effective sharpness and stay there 11 times longer. Installed rounded-tip blade guards against punctures.
  • Onboard magnet keeps this ambidextrous tool handy. Use easy, no-tool blade change mechanism to flip the blade over for a new edge, or to switch sides for left-handed use.
  • Multi-use tool is perfect for packing tape, boxes, card stock, retail garment bags, clamshell packaging, flexible plastics—handles just about any packaging challenge.

Sometimes five stars are not enough. This is a functional box cutter small enough to fit in a purse or billfold but more importantly safe enough for a child to use. The ceramic blade is tiny, but does the job. There is a tradeoff for the safety factor--there are some jobs it can't handle but not many. Small butbrilliant safety and convenience features are built in--the thumb extends the tiny blade by moving button on the side. Release the button and the blade retracts. There is an internal magnet so it will stick to any metal surface. Just be warned--loan it out and you may not see it again.

Buy this ceramic pocket cutter to open packages, blister packs, etc. and you will wonder how you lived without it. Whenever I get a package, from Amazon of course, this pocket cutter slices through it easily and neatly. It's almost like an extension of my hand. I've used this to cut through extremely sharp blister packs, padded envelopes, plastic ties, and lots of other things. I like the retractable blade because it extends when you need to cut and then gets out of the way which is really cool and really safe for whatever it is that you are cutting. If you use a fixed blade, you can potentially cut whatever is sitting right under the blade since you have no control over the length of the blade. The Mini Cutter has a built in magnet which I use to attach it to my stapler on my desk. It's not as strong as I like but it does the job. The dual blade is also interchangeable with the larger Slice cutter (which I also have). Previously, I was using a mini Swiss Army Knife and it did a pretty good job but for the uses I listed above, the pocket cutter is a much better choice. If someone were to permanently borrow this, I can see it ruining my day. Highly Recommend! EDIT December 21, 2016: Just wanted to say that this is one of those products that has become a part of my daily routine. I open a lot of packages and this is my go-to tool/item for that. The cutter actually feels like an extension of my hand and it is so much safer to use than a box cutter. The sound of the ceramic blade slicing through packaging is really nice. If I ever lost this cutter, I'd be very disappointed.

This thing is perfect for opening boxes, and it seems MUCH safer than the traditional box cutters that I used to use. I lightly pushed the blade against my thumb to test it; it didn't cut me, so I'm a little less worried about what would happen if my toddler somehow gets a hold of this. I buy a lot of pantry items and toddler items from Amazon, and I'm in the process of moving, so I have a lot of boxes to open up and then break down for recycling. I gave one to my mom who shops online a lot, and she asked me to send her a second one so she could keep one on each floor. It's magnetic, which makes it easy to store on the side of the fridge. Many exterior doors also have magnetic frames, and the corners of most walls are magnetic. If you want to hang it elsewhere, just attach a magnet to the wall at that location.

I bought several of these for work and one for home. And I have now opened so many items with ease * At work we are opening a new office and being the computer guy I needed an easy way to open hundreds of boxes * * To date I have now open several hundred boxes, computers, monitors, phones, keyboards, cables and so on and so on. This little ceramic blade just keeps going and has yet gotten dull. A regular razor blade would have gunked up by now and would of had to be replaced. The ceramic somehow prevents the tape from boxes from sticking to it. * Highly recommend for those of you out there who get frequent deliveries or work in an area that lots of packages need opening. ***The only item I found that you could not open very well are plastic envelope packages because the cutter pulls rather than cut***

Update: I have recieved it! ... and it deserves the 5 star rating. But I have to reply on some of the comments from some reviews: THIS CUTTER WASNT MEANT FOR INDUSTRIAL USE!! So yeah it would make better sense to use a box cutter! Ppl expect this object which is obviously for home use to function as a box cutter in their work!! I bought this b/c I frequently order online and I got tired of using the blade of scissors or not having anything handy but didnt want a heady duty package opener. This is for use at home-in my opinion.

For the price, this is pretty good. It's very small, and it has a magnet so you can put it on your fridge. I do kind of wish it was slightly bigger, just because i have larger hands. It cuts through normal boxes with ease, and sufficiently scores thicker boxes so they can be ripped apart easily. It would be extremely difficult to hurt yourself with this. Wife was very doubtful when it arrived, because of its size, and lack of metallic blade, but after watching me try it out on a few boxes, she was pretty impressed with it.

Love this thing. With the retractable blade, we keep it in a kitchen drawer without worrying about rummaging for it and getting cut. Opens all my boxes in the house now. *************************** Update April 2019 This thing is still going strong, despite lots of times someone dropped it off the counter to the floor. I noticed some review complaining that it won't cut cardboard. If it did, it wouldn't be what I wanted. I have plenty of box cutters, but with those you risk cutting what's in the box. Look at square boxes on grocery store shelves, hardware stores, etc. You'll often find them with a slice through the packaging, because someone opened the cardboard box with a box cutter. With this thing, the ceramic tip sticks out just enough to cut through the packing tape without worrying about cutting what's inside. If you order lots of stuff from Amazon, this is the tool you need. I've written less than 30 reviews on Amazon over a 10+ year period, and I've never received any samples in exchange for writing a review.

I have two little girls and a wife who enjoys online shopping so this is the perfect household tool for slicing packages without the risk of injuring little fingers. It's ideal for letters, paper, art mats, kids’ craft projects and other common items that show up on the front porch every day. Our much anticipated Slice Mini Cutter arrived today and popped out of the blister pack with a nice audible snap, landing in my lap like an alien pod birth. Nicely designed with smooth oval lines, you can run your fingers around its edges like an oversized plastic fava bean. I tested it out. The blade snaps back safely, yet it cuts when needed. I’ll carry the mini cutter around as an everyday resource. With today’s on-demand package economy, who wants to be running around looking for the tool you need when you can keep a small one with you on your key chain and have it ready when you need it?

If, like me, you are a 20-something living in a large apartment building with a single trash chute for your floor 1/2 block away, this is your new best friend (especially if you may or may not have a shopping problem). I bought this magic thing to give my kitchen shears a break. I keep it by the door and open / break down boxes as soon as they come in. This thing is SHARP - I accidentally cut the tip of my fingernail clean off by just brushing it with this guy. It's also magnetic, and super lightweight - so great for throwing in my pocket to go break down boxes elsewhere. My only potential gripe is it is definitely made for righties - the slide button is on the left side - but I am a leftie and it's still incredibly useful. Going on a year with this product, and not only is it so great I had to review, but it also is just as sharp as day 1.

This was a fun little device in helping me open things that I needed! I wanted to see how it would be to replace the blade if I had any issues with it. I had problems doing so! I ended up breaking it by accident ;w;. I might have to just buy a new one instead since i couldnt reattach the blade properly. I am still providing it a 5 star as it was working until User Error made its way on it.
