The Kentucky KM-270 mandolin is a great sounding instrument. The first one I ordered I had to return back to Amazon because it had a few production flaws. (That one should have never gotten passed through quality control.) Amazon sent out another one and this one is a keeper! I am just a beginner on mandolin but I've been playing guitar 40+ years. I set the action and intonation myself and it sounds great! It is so addictive! If I pick it up for a few minutes I find that an hour or two has gone by! It has a great tone and I bought a Glarry case for it! This instrument is affordable and well made. You will not regret getting one!

Great playability and excellent tone. A great value.

Just a great mandolin. First off, it’s beautiful. The sound is lovely, bright trebles, bass that is not tubby (an issue on some oval hole mandolins) and LOUD. You will be heard if you want to be. Great for old time, english folk or bluegrass. However for bluegrass I play my F-Style The Loar LM590. It has a lower timbre and growls a little more. Setup was perfect, I had to move the saddle to intonate. And I did need to tighten the nut on the pickguard hardware. It would loosen and buzz, finally I got out the wrenches and tighented it so it will stay. That’s it, however. You need a pick and case. I bought the Glarry case on Amazon. It’s great. Pick your own pick.

My first mandolin, so I have nothing to compare it to. Decent quality . Great sound

A very fine instrument straight out of the box. I'm very happy.

First off, let me say I bought this mandolin at a local guitar shop, not on amazon. The mandolin is great. Good tone, strings are playable, holds tune well, minimum fret buzz, and it looks really nice. Highly recommended.

I just got this sweet mandolin. She sounds even better than she looks 😍 Not real ornate like some F-style mandolins, but with an absolutely beautiful tone! Better than I had hoped for. I played this exact model at a local buy and sell shop and next to instruments that cost hundreds of dollars more, it stood out. The oval hole maybe makes it have a fuller, more open sound. I found it here on Amazon with this sunburst finish. Wow! As someone who plays a high-end guitar and a mid-range violin, I can say that this is a solid, quality instrument. I am very happy to welcome her into the family.
