Great little butane solder/torch
Great little butane solder/torch. Had to buy a small pistol case for 5.00 to put everything in including the Butane, the metal box it came in was not going to be much good.

Awesome Multi-Purpose Tool
This is a great tool have. I have used this for a multitude of purposes. It's convenient to have a cordless soldering tool when you need to get into places and work on something. The flame keeps the tip plenty hot to melt solder. being that everything is removable and it can be used as a torch too is nice. The solder sponge and air blowers are a nice add on too. The torch can be locked to the on position so you don't have to hold anything to keep it going while using it, and the flame is adjustable. All in all you can't go wrong buying this. Dremel builds quality tools for the right price.

This is the best butane soldering iron I have owned
I was left to decide between this and the Power Probe soldering iron. I use the Power Probe brand at work quite often, but with this being cheaper and with the spotty reliability of the Power Probe, I decided on this Dremel brand instead. The carrying case is very nice and comes with different ends for different types of projects. I think the build quality is great and feels like it is very durable for everyday use. The tank seems to last about as long as the couple other brands that I have used in the past which is usually enough for 1 or 2 uses, but with a butane refill on hand it is not a very big deal as it is so quick and easy to fill. The temperature that this can get to far exceeds what I would ever need it to do (about 1/3 - 1/2MAX for soldering in my experience). I recommend this brand highly, and between the Power Probe and this I would choose this again any day.

Great torch for small projects!
This little Dremel torch is perfect for small repairs. I use it for soldering small jewelry components and it is perfect for getting into tight places with precision. I would not use this torch for firing enamel or any large soldering projects. It is exactly as described in ads and instructional video. It is small, light, compact in the hand, and works extremely well. Seems to use little butane. Easy to keep parts together in nifty metal box.

Most versatile butane torch I have ever owned.
I have had the Dremel Versa Tip soldering torch since February 2016 and I don't know how I survived without it. I manly purchased it for heat shrink tubing as apposed to buying a electronic heat gun which are expensive and have very limited uses. Up until I got the versa tip I was using refillable lighters the kind with the goose neck for heat shrink tubing. On the lighters the igniter coil tends to melt and stop working after several uses but I can tell you that the igniter design on the versa tip keeps it from melting away and I don"t ever see it failing (and it hasn't so far). I cant tell you how much I love finding new uses for the versa tip and just how versatile it is. It makes a grate cordless soldering iron very natural to use if your use to a pencil soldering iron. I like it when I don't want to bother with bringing my soldering station or don't have an outlet nearby. The hot knife is grate for cutting synthetic rope and Styrofoam. It also works as a regular torch if you take all of the attachments off. One piece of advice if you decide to buy the versa tip you should buy high quality filtered butane to keep the versa tip from clogging, I have been using 1 can of Newport 300ml Ultra Purified Butane Fuel Zero Impurities with out any problems and I would recommend it for the versa tip. By the way in case you missed it the versa tip dose not come with butane but this was not a deal beaker for me.

Awesome tool
I love this torch. I really really love how it ignites itself and you don't need a lighter. One thing that isn't so good is that after using the soldering tip I put it in the holder and it melted the plastic so now I have to scrape that off before using that again, but oh well. So far I have soldered some jewelry and fixed a light string, both using the torch and silver solder, but I tried the soldering tip and the included solder on the lights and it didn't work. I think the wire was silver (definitely wasn't copper which is usually what light strings are made of). I saved Christmas thanks to the Dremel torch!

Home use only!!
Know what you’re buying!! For the home user this thing is awesome does everything you would need it to. If that’s all you’re going to be using it for then get it. You won’t be disappointed. But for the more intense user or the kind of people who use one of these on the job (me) it’s not going to be a good match. Tank is way too small and the case is where it fails most miserably at. It will come open in your bag and everything falls out. If you turn the case upside down the lid comes off and everything fall to the ground. Again I gave it 5 stars because I tried using it in the wrong environment. Left it on the work bench and now it’s a great little tool to have when I don’t want to move my corded one around.

A fantastic tool AND the carry case is INCLUDED! 5 Stars!
This is a great product and actually comes with its own aluminum box! It was nice to have an item (specifically, a speciality tool with accessories) arrived with its own carrycase! A DECENT aluminum box, not plastic! The butane gas supply last a good long while as well, even on high. But make sure you have an extra butane refill cartridge or two handy. I first used this to solder some wires underneath my vehicle dash board– which is VERY tightly contained! I realized the soldering iron runs VERY HOT and you can't turn it down any further. The key is to be quick! Short duration solder touches or you'll melt the protective sheathing right off the wires! I used the heat blower attachment to heat shrink said soldered wires and it did an excellent job with both tasks! Again, work as quickly with this soldering iron attachment as you can safely manage. It will easily ruin anything it comes in contact with for long durations. (.05 to 2 seconds, TOPS!). Additionally, I used the hot air blower on a rusted nut and it unfroze that thing in no time at all! It works great for that and everything else I tried! This tool is well worth the money! The gas supply last a good long while as well, even on high. But make sure you have an extra butane refill cartridge laying around somewhere . sure to have a spare butane refill handy! My favorite and most notable part of this review is this thing actually comes with its own carry case! (An aluminum box). It should last a very long time assuming it's cared for properly. I never understood how any tool company could sell a tool with its accessories, without SOME KIND or case! To me, that is inexcusable! So Dremel wins a 5 stars review for a quality item WITH its own carry case! Worth every penny and highly recommend!

Great, but may need to be "broken in" initially
I really love this little torch, although I have to tell you that I initially had to contact customer service because it would not light. They offered to replace it no questions asked but eventually I figured out that if I held down the thumbswitch for a minute or two it would eventually start hissing and I could light it. This persisted for a short time, I used it a couple times a day for a few days and it began to function as normal. I don't know why it took a minute or so initially. It is possible the "regulator" inside just needed to be broken in. Love it now, though I can't speak to all the attachments.

Works great
Bought this to use as my first soldering gun and to shrink heat tube. Brother in law soldered some wires for me and he has a different butane brand which was 2 times the price and that'swhat got me into wanting a cordless butane soldering iron. He also used mine after I had bought it and said he liked it as much as the one he owns. He is a marine tech so does a lot of soldering on very large and expensive commercial fishing boats so if he approves of it then it is good. It wont be used very often like the one he owns so I can't recommend for constant work use but it is great for do it yourself workday home and dremel makes great products.
