the traps work, but you need to know how
Never had moths or bugs of any kind until some infested dog food came with an instant infestation of Indian meal moths. I scoured different brands and the review of traps before settling on these. These traps work incredibly well in time, but I was a little worried about a few prior negative reviews. You have to remember several things: - because it's pheromone-based, they only attract and kill the breeding male moths, not the females or juvenile males - kill any moths yourself that aren't attracted to the traps, they're almost certainly the young or female - it may not work immediately, unless you place the traps during a mating cycle - many reviewers say 'moths just flew in', but it turns out that only happens in extreme infestations, where there are always some breeding males nearby, - keep the traps out for **at least** 3 weeks, with traps more than 12 feet apart (or the moths will get confused). - once they fill up with the male moths, replace with new traps. - after opening, they're good for about 3 months write the date on the trap, it's easy to forget. Also, conduct a full cleaning of your pantry. Wipe out anything that looks like mats or webbing (they are in these cocoons). Identify the primary and maybe any secondary infestations and get rid of it, checking anything they might eat - not just grains, cereals, and sugar, but other foods. Cleaning goes a long way to control

You won't believe how well these work!
Raw almonds from Whole Foods turned into a HUGE pantry month problem. We had then for months and the moths were winning. For every one I killed 10-more would take its place. It was gross to open our kitchen cabinets and see them flying around. I tried every possible solution. Threw away all food, ripped out and replaced shelf liner, wiped down with bleach, sprayed lemon juice, left bay leaves in the pantry, a month later not only was the issue out of hand, now they were in the living room and bathroom area. I purchased these as a last resort, and I had tried another brand first (same concept, different brand). Within 1-week I saw a dramatic reduction in moths, now, 1-month later, if I see a moth, it flew in from the outside. Inside my home the problem is almost 100% cleared. These things are amazing. They absolutely work and I haven't even had to open the other 2 packages. But I'm ready if I have to be. The photos are one that I opened to show the inside (this one was kept in the kitchen pantry) the other how they look when you put them together (from the bathroom). It's like a train wreck you can't stop looking at. -I placed 1 in the pantry (photo on right) this one garnered the least amount of moths, I think the male moths come from outside? - The one placed by the bathroom window (shown open) caught much more moths in a shorter period of time. As noted here, do not place them too close to each other. Give them at least 3-4 weeks. Don't just remove them after the first five weeks, make sure you replace them with another pack to make sure you don't get any hibernating moths.

Better than others
The traps arrived quickly and worked well. The glue is much stronger than another brand I tried, and the company says the lures in these red-packaged versions are fresher than others on the market (including their own older versions). The fact that they address the lure freshness issue at all (which none of the other manufacturers seem to) makes me inclined to believe that it probably is an important factor, and it was reassuring that they mention it so directly and in such specifics. Please do keep that up, Catchmaster, if you're reading this! Within about one minute of taking the lure out of its sealed package, there were quite a few moths already coming out of their hiding places and starting to hover around me. It took me by surprise and was a bit Hitchcockian at first, but I quickly realized it just meant the lure was strong, and that it would probably be effective, which it was.

Ok these work!! I had a bunch of these stupid moths in our pantry then more came in some dog food. I've cleaned and thrown things away and I still couldn't get rid of them. I put one trap in our laundry room and one in the kitchen and literally 10 minutes later there were four stuck in the one in the laundry room and 6 flying around near it! Best $13 I ever spent!

Location matters!
The instructions do mention that if you haven't already caught any moths within the first 24 hours that you should move the trap to another location. In my house, I couldn't tell where they would hide or breed but they were definitely centralized in the kitchen and living room. I put one right on top of my fridge and within less than five minutes there were half a dozen moths fluttering around it trying to find the pheromone lure. The one for the living room went on a shelf above a TV and was much less successful. The trap itself is just a basic sticky spider trap, but what makes these things kick butt is that tiny red square that comes in the package that lures them in like crazy. I've attached a photo of one from the living room (left) and the kitchen (right). I left them both out for about a month and the kitchen one had two fresh (still fluttering) moths on it so they are still being attracted to the trap after weeks out in the open air. So, if you're not catching pantry moths with these traps it's likely just a problem of where your trap is located. I was becoming desperate after clapping my hands on no fewer than 5-6 moths everyday for several weeks without realizing I was having a full-blown infestation! These traps are amazing and I'll keep putting them out until we get all those pesky moths exterminated.

Wow! It works faster and better than my exterminator. Look at the photo!
When the delivery came, I rushed to open the box with the traps in it. I never knew what 'pantry moths' were until it was explained to me by my exterminator. He came to my house and sprayed rooms full of pantry moths infestation. No sooner than he left (and CHARGED ME $100.00 for 5 minutes of spray) the moths reappeared in numbers. I was disappointed about him not being able to eradicate and paying a high price of his services that didn't take care of the problem. So, back to the delivery that came today. I opened the package of moth traps (there are a pack of two to a package), read the instructions, and placed one trap in a room (the trap attacks these moth up to a distance of 12 feet). Only within 2 minutes, it trapped moths! The red square in the center is the bait that comes with it. I wished I had known about this company and their product before spending the $100.00 that was a waste of money and time. The trap is phenomenal! I am now putting traps in every room of the house. It is a highly effective method of moth removal. Once you are infested with this pantry moth, they lay eggs and multiply quickly (they love grains, cereal, rise, wheat and even nuts). GET IT. You won't regret it.

I literally had moths follow me to the pantry when I took the trap in...
I seriously hope this does not get flagged as being "too good to be true," but we have been fighting these things for a month and a half and have/have had a LOT of moths still coming out of the woodwork in spite of a major zero-tolerance effort against them. They came in with "seed cylinders" I get my wife for Christmas to feed the woodpeckers. Moths and worms just kept pouring out of the closet they were stored in, made cocoons in all the clothes hanging in the closet and in everything else in there as well. We cleaned, burned, squashed pretty much day and night and they were slowly beginning to wane, but ONE fertile female moth can wreck that in one laying of up to 400 eggs. When I opened the traps' bat packets, I had three moths come out f nowhere. Of course, timing of their breeding cycle was coincidental, but they found me as soon as I opened the packet containing the bait. I pressed it onto the trap and carried it into the pantry and the moths actually followed me and two entered the trap as soon as I set it on the shelf. A few minutes later, number three had joined them. Same thing for the originally infested closet - I set the trap and had three moths within minutes. Two days later - still three moths in each trap, but I feel better knowing those three males won't be fertilizing the remaining females. There has been a dramatic reduction of the moths I have to catch or squash each day since I placed the traps and the ones I do see are smaller. Do not think that you can just put the traps out and the moths will all be gone though. You really have to eliminate the source of contamination, any subsequently contaminated stuff and start killing every one of the moths you see. The traps are icing on the cake and give all the other methods a chance to work. You can get these moths from dog food, cat food, any kind of feed for livestock. I've gotten them in raw peanuts (for the chickens) and they infest other nearby feed types, but those are not in the house. Easy to get them but not so easy to get rid of them.

The traps work but here are 2 Tips
These really work. After spending 2 weeks spraying and cleaning, i found these traps. I am ordering a second 6 pack. Here’s 2 tips: 1. The adhesive is very powerful and you will become a comedy act if you touch even the tiniest bit as you try to make the little tent. So fold first, then open an peal the cover, then finish assembly. 2. There are no directions on bait. There’s a little square drawn that says bait. So I put a little cornmeal on the square. It worked. Today, as I was throwing out the package ,I found 2 small packages in the bottom. Red squares with no ID, but they’re the bait tabs. Bonus tip: these little moths have migrated into your home from the pantry. Set up a trap in each clothes closet. You’ll catch a couple and save your clothes.

Filled Up in a Week!
We had a half-full bag of dog food in our garage for a few months and when we finally got rid of it, I think it disturbed a bunch of larvae. Pantry months were everywhere and getting into the house and my car. I bought a set of traps and in less than a week they looked like the pictures. It was nuts! We still have a few flying around, so I bought another set. These things work well and fast!

WORKS Instantly!! Finally I have relief from these moths taking over my home!!
I had tried a modern type moth ball form thinking my precious dog would be okay as long as he couldn't get to it but reading the instructions, simply fumes reaching the floor where he lives could kill him!! I tried two different sprays which neither worked!! Then I found the moths in my pantry so I looked on the internet for pantry moth remedies and found the Catchmaster moth traps. They were SIMPLE to put together and afterwards I literally went to lay it on the table to put a second one together when two moths flew into the trap while still in my hand!! I had to laugh!! I thought it was a fluke!! As I sat there putting the second trap together I thought I would put it in the pantry where they seemed to be more of them. You would just see one here and there in the rest of the house . . . just enough to be annoying! when the second trap was finished being assembled I checked back to the first one . . . just curious if another moth had been caught...shocked to see over 15 moths in that short time!!! It only took a day and a half to fill up the trap completely and I'm now putting out clean traps just to be sure I got them all!! Reading here about the males and females has taught me even better how to understand dealing with them. Very helpful! I ordered another pack today too! These traps have been a life saving item in my sanity! lol And made for a much nicer time trying to watch a movie at night! lol Thanks Catchmaster!!!
