Strong and Long Lasting with Updates

It's not easy finding a slim and durable case these days but this certainly does the job. I installed it on my Iphone 2 months ago and since that time the phone has been accidentally dropped at least 5 or 6 times and fortunately the glass never cracks and the phone still operates normal. I was looking for a case on the slimmer side but still durable like the bulkier cases and this is fulfilling my needs. I would recommend this product. 5/30/19 - Update: I'm still using the case and it's holding up great. The corners have a few bruises from the accidental drops but the phone is still working great with ZERO cracks. The protective cover it comes with is starting to fall off and it will need to be replaced from lots of wear and tear. I'm still very happy with this purchase.

One month later review

The case seems a little difficult to put on because it fits so the phone so tightly, which is actually great once it's on the phone. I have dropped my phone several times and it has been fine with this case on (not sure how it would have otherwise fared). I appreciate that the case is small enough to slip into my pocket. The only downside is that the back of the case is a bit slippery. I need to figure out something to put there (pop socket or sticker or something) to reduce the chance that it will slip out of my hand this winter!

I've had Commuter series cases on every iPhone I've had: a 5, two 5s models, a 6s, and now the X. I ran the 6s over going back to a parking lot to retrieve it after leaving it on the rear bumper and of a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder I had for a while. Screen was shattered, but the case was fully intact, and the rest of the phone in perfect working condition. The phone itself wasn't even bent. Previous to that I had launched one of the 5s phones I had about 25 yards with some good height and hang time when I was pissed off. The result was the same as the 6s I ran over on accident. Screen shattered, phone still perfectly in tact and working (so I was able to back up and replace both phones on those two separate occasions).

One of the best cases I have ever owned!

I love this case. Yes, this bugger will slip right out of your hand if not careful, but it protects the fall just fine. Already dropped my phone half a dozen times. I love the sleek design with the charge and audio port covers. Wish they had some way of a cover for the speaker, but with holes so that the holes got junk in them and could more easily be cleaned. Anyway, I am very happy!

If you still own an iPhone 6/6s, you're broke like me and you should buy this

Outstanding case for the money

Received this in two days. Right after I already cracked my glass and had it replaced. The packaging was easy to mange. You yourself a favor and take out the rubber insert out of the case and place your phone in the insert and then the case. So much easier and it probably said that in the instructions but I'm a guy and we hate instructions. I left out the screen protector part because I already have one on the new glass and I thought it would be a visual overkill and might not let the screen be that reactive but your call if you really need two screens

Delighted

I am very pleased with my Otterbox Commuter case. I bought it for my Iphone 6s to replace an older non Otterbox case which really was fine but was clear and discoloring with age. Anyway, the Otterbox is great, went on easy, the phone slides easily in and out of my jeans pocket, appears to provide reasonable protection and I would buy it again provided the price was right. The only minor negative is that, as others have noted, the included plastic screen cover is really not worth bothering with. I have had better ones in the past. I replaced it with a MrShield glass screen protector with which I am equally satisfied.

I bought this for my daughter and a few days later she spun out on some black ice and flipped her van into a ditch of water. The phone sat in the water for about 5 minutes besides being thrown around the van before landing! Her iPhone and the case were in perfect condition after the wreck. Thank God, so was my daughter! I have even walked through the pouring rain while talking on my phone and the phone received no water damage. That being said, this case is definitely not waterproof, and if your job contains a large amount of water-related risk, you should opt for a more robust case. I believe the case has a few weak points, those being an expose mute button and speaker port. An environment with dust may prove hazardous to a phone housed in this case. However, you will be hard pressed to find a case that is as slim and compact as this one that provides a higher level of protection. Durability of Case (5/5) After more desk-height drops than one could count and a few stair-tumbling scares, the case does not seem to have taken any abuse. Some weak points might be the rubber flippers covering the charging port and headphone jack, but I haven’t seen any tears or abrasions through my six months of use. Unless you constantly play with them and subject your phone to drops of tremendous height, I expect this case will outlast the life of your phone. If you work in a business environment and are constantly on the go, this case is perfect for you. It will protect your phone from almost anything you could throw at, all while maintaining a professional appearance. Don’t leave your connection to the world at risk, buy this case today!

Basic But durable

I bought the black on black otter box commuter case for my iPhone 6s I believe over a year ago. I’ll start with what I enjoy about the product... The Commuter case is sleek, slim and it fits in my pocket perfectly, unlike a lot of cases now a days including some of the other cases otter box puts out. To add to that note the slimness is deceiving, but in a good way, this is probably the most shock resistant slim case I’ve ever had. Most smaller cases that barely cover your phone leave room for the screen cracking when dropped. For a slim case that’s durable this can be rather cheap even compared to cases that do nothing but look pretty; So this is a perfect fit for anyone who doesn’t like the clunky cases but wants something durable. Now the dislikes... This product is not an all in one product, it isn’t dust proof, it isn’t water proof, and there is nothing covering the screen except for a little bit of a lip around the perimeter to absorb shock This isn’t a fancy case, it’s very straightforward and kinda basic. Like all otter box cases there isn’t much design to it, you can jazz up the color but be prepared to pay extra ESPECIALLY on amazon. (You’re looking at 10-20$ more for a specific color pattern.) These last few aren’t a big deal to me, but I’ll mention it anyways in case they’re deal breakers for someone else. (Side Note: These come from having this case over an extended period of time) First, like I said, this isn’t dust proof; be prepared to be confronted with gook and grime on your phone when taking it off, if you don’t clean it regularly that is. It’s not disgustingly bad but it is noticeable. Next, although the case looks easy and simple it can be rather hard to put on and take off. A lot of the time it feels like I might break my case just from taking it off, which luckily hasn’t happened. So if you’re looking for an easy to remove case this probably won’t be it, it’s a snug fitting case. Lastly, after years of use and being a fidgety person and constantly playing with the flaps for the charger port and aux cord, the small hard plastic part at the bottom left corner that rims the screen came off. I mostly blame myself for that rather than the actual case. It seems like there’s a lot of disklikes but trust me when I say this is a quality case, it might not be for everyone, but if it fits your needs than I highly suggest it.
