Great gaming keyboard.
I've been a fan of Logtech keyboards and mice since they first started marketing them, and after ordering this model I started having second thoughts as the reviews are all over the place on this unit, although most seem to agree that it's a love it or hate it type of keyboard. I haven't used a mechanical keyboard in a very long time, so I can't really compare this to them but I do really like this keyboard and like it much better than then the membrane keyboards I've used over the last dozen years. The key caps take a little getting used to, but I've grown to like the angled top of the caps. I've mainly used this keyboard for gaming, so I'm unsure if my opinion would be any different if I had been typing extensively, I will update this review if I my view changes as I use it more for typing. The back lighting on the keys is very nice, and I love that only the key symbols are lit and the light doesn't bleed around and outline each of the keys. Honestly all the lighting features are impressive but after an initial period of messing around with it I mainly just use it with profiles for various games to light only mapped keys. The only thing I wish that was different about the keyboard is that I prefer a keyboard with more of a tilt toward the user, I'm not sure why so why so many companies make the back legs on keyboards so short, would it really cost that much more to use taller feet, and maybe off two positions to users?

I really like this keyboard!
It may seem silly, but I was frustrated with my Corsair Strafe RGB Silent keyboard that I've had for years. I started using it at work because I love the feel and feedback of mechanical keyswitches, but on a domain, every time I locked my computer the illumination would turn off. I keep the lights in my office low because of headaches and not being able to see the keyboard after returning to my desk was just irritating. This is a lot of money to spend for irritating, but it turned out to be worth it. At first, I thought the shape of the keys was bizarre. But after using it for a couple of days, I find that the keys are not only very comfortable, but they feel just a tad bit bigger than the keys on my other mechanical keyboards, and are just easier to type on. Has it improved my typing? I don't know. I don't know that I'm any quicker on one than the other, but I feel just a bit more confident typing on this one than I do my others. Has it helped my gaming? Since I don't game any more, no. But don't hold that against this keyboard. Software is easy to use. I read nothing and I was able to get it set the way I wanted it, and even synced up with my Logitech mouse. That's a plus. The keys are plenty bright. I don't know that they are any more or less bright than my Corsair keyboards, and I honestly don't really care. I can set them to whatever color I want, and even do some nice effects that can sync with my mouse. Good enough for me. This thing feels solid and quality. The volume roller on it is so handy for work where I'm listening to recorded phone calls and radio traffic from dispatch. I only have 2 faults for it. First, it doesn't have a USB pass-through for my mouse like my Corsair keyboards do. But not a deal breaker. Second, the wrist rest doesn't detach. I'd rather supply my own wrist rest of memory foam or beads or something with a bit more give. Again, not a deal-breaker. All in all, I'm pleased. This was a solid choice.

Very good keyboard from Logitech
It's worth noting I have two different versions of this keyboard as I also have the Orion Spectrum. The main differences between the two are the keycaps and the palm rest, otherwise they are identical in terms of lighting and features. The Orion Spark has been a polarizing keyboard partly because of the Romer-G switches they use in their recent keyboards, as well as the keycaps not being a smoothly curving shape. Rather, they have sharp angles to them, which I can see being a problem for some. For me, they help guide my fingers into the center of the key cap, but it isn't really necessary and if this is a hindrance to you, the Orion Spectrum has more conventional keycaps, although that model is harder to find these days. The keys themselves are responsive and just clicky enough, although I'm not an expert on mechanical switches by any stretch. Hardware Canucks has an excellent video on their YouTube channel going through the different switch types if you really need to know where Romer-G fits in. I personally have no experience with any other type of switch, so I can't provide any comparison to other switches myself. I personally love how the lighting looks on this keyboard. It just looks cleaner, particularly at night, and isn't as overwhelming as other keyboard lighting schemes. The main difference there is Logitech doesn't allow for the lighting to go around the keycaps, so the only light you see is the light coming through the keycaps themselves. The Logitech G Software isn't the most expansive when it comes to lighting effects, but the basic effects are there and the color looks very good on the keyboard. It is worth noting that the profile and media keys do not change color, so that could be a concern for people looking for specific schemes across all areas. Overall, the keyboard is very solid, although the palm rest is too short and is particularly cheap on the Orion Spark. It also lacks a USB pass-through, which is something that I know a lot of people like. Those points aside though, it's a good keyboard, especially if you can find it on sale.

Greatest gaming keyboard I've ever used.
The G910 Orion Spark is an absolute dream. Do not let the negative criticisms of this keyboard dissuade you. The shape of the keys are hardly an issue, as I can barely even notice them. I also love how soft and responsive the Romer-G switches are, compared to other mechanical switches. This keyboard is far easier on your fingers, and I don't have to press down nearly as much or as far as I did with a standard membrane keyboard. I also like the ARX Dock, which I've used several times to monitor my RAM usage, as well as GPU and CPU temperatures. My only criticism of this product is that you can't use any of the LED lighting presets without the Logitech Gaming Software being open at all times. Thus, I typically just keep the keyboard in the standard setting whenever using it. This is the best keyboard I've ever had and I anticipate enjoying it for many years to come. Worth every single dollar.

Great for gaming, but not so much for day-to-day typing.
I bought this keyboard directly from Logitech shortly after it was released. Overall, it's a fantastic keyboard, and I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. Here's my take on it: Pros: - This is one good looking keyboard. The customizeable colors, materials, and general industrial design are superb. I find myself just looking at it in admiration, similar to buying a new car that you just can't help keep looking at it. - I like the feel of the keys. I haven't owned any Cherry MX switch keyboards (yet), so I don't have a point of reference compared to recent mechanical keyboards. That being said, I love the feel of typing compared to my previous dome-switch Logitech keyboards. I play BF4 and LoL, and the keyboard works great in both types of games. It's not loud at all and feels very responsive. - It comes with 2 different sized wrist rests, of which I found the larger one to be quite ergonomic and comfortable. - Software: I find the UI extremely easy to use. Assigning a color to each key is very intuitive, as is customizing keystrokes or macros. Cons: - Another reviewer mentioned the key spacing to feel slightly cramped. I agree with that qualitative assessment. I haven't measured the key-to-key spacing, but it definitely feels different from my other Logitech keyboards, of which I've had many. I had another friend, who types a lot, try it out and she immediately pointed out that it felt smaller. We both found ourselves making more typos when writing out a document. I do, however, primarily use this keyboard for gaming, which is why I find the spacing to be only a minor inconvenience. But I personally wouldn't use it for my work station PC, as I find the spacing and indented keys to slow down my typing in both Word and Excel. - Not sure why Logitech didn't use a braided cable, similar to their matching G502 gaming mouse (which I love). Not a big deal at all, but it would've been a nice feature consistent with their corded gaming mice. Neutral: - The Arx dock is somewhat gimicky in my opinion. I do like it for just propping up my phone so I can easily see any text messages, but I don't use it for any gaming reasons. The construction of the dock is also fairly flimsy, but it doesn't bother too much. So in summary, as a gaming keyboard, the G910 is amazing and I have no regrets. But if you plan on using this equally or heavily for typing documents or inputting data into Excel, I probably wouldn't recommend it. Update: 12/20/2015 After having this keyboard for about 14 months, a problem has developed. For some reason, an entire section of my keyboard no longer lights up. Or rather, I should say it flickers on for maybe 30 minutes, and then suddenly it turns off. Sometimes it'll turn back on briefly after I restart my computer, but sometimes it doesn't. I contacted Logitech support and followed their troubleshooting steps, which basically involved uninstalling the Logitech gaming software, unplugging keyboard, reinstalling latest software/firmware, and then plugging keyboard back in. Unfortunately that didn't solve the problem, so I have to RMA the keyboard. But what I recently discovered is that Logitech's support has taken quite a nose dive. First of all, their email support takes forever to respond. I would wait sometimes 1-2 weeks before getting any kind of response. Before, I would just talk to a customer rep immediately on the phone. Secondly, they used to send me a new unit without even having to return the defective unit. With this keyboard, they're requiring I send in the keyboard first for repair, and then they'll return the unit. I then asked them what am I supposed to type with on my desktop while waiting for the replacement? Buy a new keyboard while waiting for the RMA? Their response was "that is our process". Now I know that is the normal RMA process for most companies, but I'm used to the stellar support of the Logitech of the past. Update: 1/23/2015 So I recently bought a Corsair K70 mechanical keyboard (w/ Cherry Red MX switches and Red LED backlighting) for a different computer system, so I now have a reference point to compare the G910 to. The G910 looks and feels like a premium keyboard, whereas the K70 has a much cheaper look and feel. - First off, the LEDs used for the K70 bleed a bit around the keys, whereas the G910 LED lighting is very well captured/contained within the keys. - Secondly, the plastics used on the K70 keys feel cheaper than the plastics used on the G910. Or perhaps it's more appropriate to say the G910 feels more expensive than the K70. The G910 uses a soft-touch plastic (smooth, slightly soft matte texture), whereas the K70 uses your more typical plastic (I believe it's ABS). I realize that's a qualitative assessment and others may feel differently. - Also, I much prefer the sound and tactile feel of the G910 keys. The one area I do prefer on the K70 is the perceived key spacing. The K70 feels naturally spaced, whereas the G910 has indented keys that might contribute to its seemingly smaller key-to-key spacing. If I had to describe how the shape of the keys feel, the G910 is like a sports car with bucket seats whereas the K70 is like an economy car with normal seats.

Best Mechanical Keyboard with backlit keys and dedicated volume/media controls
This keyboard is totally awesome! I've convinced one of my co-workers to buy one for her and her husband. PROS: - Color per key and many configurations possible is awesome. (NOTE: Opacity is better for managing brightness rather than color) - I personally love the switches because they are not insanely loud but still have a solid feel to them. - Volume rocker is sweet with a dedicated mute button. - I like the 2 wrist rests they provide. The larger one is my personal favorite. - The box it comes in is great as a carry case (though not perfect). I tote mine back and forth from work everyday because I love it that much. CONS: - No on board memory so you have to configure each computer separately. - The software that drives it is a little buggy at times, nothing a quick restart of the application won't fix. - The phone companion app is pointless IMO. - This last item is not really a con, but more of a fact. Some people complain about the key layout feeling smaller or more squished than other full sized keyboards. I agree with this statement, but have found that after some time I'm totally used to this keyboard and ACTUALLY type faster now than I did with my old Logitech Illuminated keyboard. OVERALL: It's not an expensive keyboard in its class. Compared to DAS Keyboard (no back light for keys) or to CODE Keyboard (no dedicated volume/media controls) this is the best mechanical keyboard on the market! I purchased this keyboard full priced, out right, on my own. I love it!

My favorite gaming keyboard yet.
I love this. I've found that what I read in other reviews prior to buying has generally been true: good quality, maybe kind of bad if you type a lot, but not so much as to be an issue for me. But I've been using it for a while now and it has held up really well compared to any of the higher-end gaming keyboards I've had in the past. LEDs are even and per-key lighting is great, really. I generally favor cherry brown switches and these are similar and really good. I like the shape of the key-caps pretty well, it's easy to remove them for cleaning too. I'm really happy with this keyboard so the only quibble I can lob its way is that it would be great if the key-lighting on/off key would stay dimly lit when the LEDs are off. Seriously: the Windows key lock, numlock (etc), and Record Macro keys are all lit when they're off, so why not that one too? Also, the app that connects your Wi-Fi device (phone) to the computer is sort of useful sometimes. And has the potential to very useful, although I'd like the see the silly "dock"-shelf for it turned into something more advanced like, say, a docking port that can hold the phone in place better. 3/21/2017: Still love this thing. The shelf is slightly more useful than I thought. Very happy so far.

A keyboard blessed by Gaben himself.
It's a nice feeling to have the best keyboard on the planet. This keyboard is by no means a typing keyboard, however you shouldn't have a problem typing around 65 WPM, it's just a little hard to type any faster than that with this. However, there is a reason for this, the keys are specially designed to be made so that your fingers don't slide left or right when navigating yourself in game. The keyboard keys are all slightly vertically escalated as they go up, which again is great so that when you are pressing the "D" key, you don't accidentally push onto the "E" key. This is just a small example of Logitech thought of everything when designing this keyboard. Not only is the lighting amazing, but their software is fantastic as well. One can program individual lighting profiles for each game, while also being able to program custom macro keys, which are actually very useful to set up a shortcut button for the Steam overlay, or a record button for Shadowplay. The switches are even fantastic, Logitech made their own switches, which are actually certified to be better and faster than even Cherry MX switches. Everything about this keyboard is amazing, not to mention the price is only around $100, do yourself a favor and buy it immediately.

Clickity Clackity
I've been in the market for a while searching for the right keyboard to fit my needs. I recently managed to get hands on a few different mechanical keyboards and it was between this one and another popular brand. I've been a Logitech fan for a very long time, and most of my keyboards and mice have been Logitech, so when the time finally came, it came down to brand loyalty. Its great for gaming, and when I'm typing who does'nt love the clickity clackity of the mechanical switches. I was shocked at the responsiveness of this keyboard compared to my old Logitech G-15 keyboard once I sat down to play my favorite games, the RGB illumination is amazing it allows for some creative control over your keys illumination and I set mine up to look like the American flag, because I love America. With my previous keyboard I knew I wanted the additional function keys, because I would bind various macros and other shortcuts to them for the various activities I would be engaging in so that was another selling point for me. I was at first dissapointed in the lack of a LCD/LED screen to monitor various computer details, and quickly mute TS3 when I needed to talk to someone in the room, however with the Arx control app I can see the temps and speeds of what I need, when I need it, plus Logitechs website was very useful for finding a way to bind my G keys to be my microphone mute.

Great keyboard. It brings all of the functions that ...
Great keyboard. It brings all of the functions that I really wanted in a keyboard together at once. Being able to make the color of every single key into something different is exactly what I wanted. The missing LCD screen is the only part that I don't care for. It would be nice if it had some sort of LCD, even if it wasn't full color like the G19. Other than that everything else about the keyboard is great. Keys feel great when typing on them. I haven't messed with the ARX dock much yet, however the dock does NOT charge your device and the way it sits in the dock has a tab of plastic that goes into the charging port for support so if you want to use the dock then you can not charge your device while using it either. I suppose you could just sit the device on your desk and have it plugged into a charge cable, but then what is the point of having the ARX dock at all? There is still a switch for gaming mode, so that it will disable the windows key, however instead of being a slide switch like the older models it is now a button which just toggles the mode on and off. Volume control is good and having quick access to a mute button is nice. The M keys also lite up which is nice, but only the one that is currently selected. The vibrance of the keys is also great. They are all brighter than any of the previous keyboards, but not so bright that it becomes distracting.
