Super Special Awesome
Very satisfied with my purchase. Was delivered in a timely fashion and managed to convert it to english with methods I won't say here. Now I can chuck my animal crossing new 3ds back at Nintendo. It's all about that black, baby!

Perfect 4 Pockets
I bought this knowing that the 3ds was region locked it is also a dead give away when the regular sized new 3ds isn't out in America! I bought this instead of the American 3ds because of the size it is perfect for pockets.

First Japanese 3DS I've owned.
Just got the Japanese 3DS today, gave it to my brother who wanted a JPN DS and he was so excited! He understands some Japanese, but he wanted to have one to learn on it. Loved it! Came on time :). It came in excellent condition.

The New Nintendo 3DS Japanese Model
After Nintendo only released the XL version of the New Nintendo 3DS here in the USA, I was bummed out. When I found the regular model for sale on Amazon.com, I thought it over and said why not. I've bought import games before, but this is my first import system ever. First the pros. It has a beautiful matte finish I just love! The screens are bigger than the first regular 3DS, and the special colored buttons(from SNES days)are awesome. It plays most of the American DS games, though I couldn't get the Sonic Collection for DS to work. The C-Stick feels nice and will work with any game that supported the Circle Pro. Even if you don't have many or any Japanese 3DS games, the Japanese eShop has lots of fun demos to download, and enjoy. Now the cons. It is region locked. Which means no playing your American 3DS games, and only Japanese language. The setup might seem tough at first, but just use your American 3DS to figure out the menus, on setting up the internet connection, and eShop account. It only uses a micro SD card, which is now located inside the back cover. You can upgrade to a larger micro SD, but you'll need a screwdriver to get the cover off. It doesn't come with a charge adapter, but you can use your American 3DS charger. The power button can be tough to press, but it just takes practice. The stylus is like the one from the original DS system. Why they couldn't make a thicker one is beyond me. I mostly just use a stylus from my American 3DS, but I can use the small New 3DS stylus if I have to. Also it can be rough getting it back in it's slot, thanks to the special hook on top to remove the front cover plate. Speaking of which it can be customized with cool face and back plates(only for sale in Japan)of all sorts of designs, but I'm happy with the sexy black plates it comes with. So bottom line is it worth it? That's up to you. If it never comes to our shores, I'm happy to have it.

Only option for black N3DS in USA
Just confirming that these consoles do indeed support full region conversions, aside from eshop access. No need to worry about game regions or even the system menu once you have it set up right, and it's much more comfortable to game on than the XL.
