Great quality and very cute like all Melissa & Doug products I've purchased. Mu daughter loves these puzzles and has had so many hours of fun with them. They also helped me teach her all the animal names and most of the sounds. Well, almost all the animals... She still wants the dolphin and whale to also be 'shark!'

I am a speech therapist so finding puzzles like these are a gold mind. They are easy to put together and the colors on the animals are quite vibrant. They each have a tiny knob on the puzzle to get a better handle of taking them off and putting them back on. I work with children of all ages and they can't get enough of these puzzles. They are quite effective and fun to do. I like the quality of the puzzles. The wood is sturdy and are not flimsy. I use these everyday and they seem to be holding up very well. The only drawback is that these puzzles are a little pricey but overall a great product!

My son loves these puzzles. I especially love that there is a picture of the animal in the empty space so that my toddler can learn how to match the pieces to the right slot. I also love that there are only 6 pieces to each puzzle...especially when I'm the one having to put it back together when I'm cleaning up the playroom! Good quality, vibrant colors, and easy to use pegs on each piece for toddlers' little hands.

Really good quality and the prints are so cute. My 19-month boy loves his puzzles so much and wants to play every day before goes to bed. Melissa & Doug is not only a toy, but the best study material for the little ones!!

I bought these for my grandson and he loves them. He loves to pick up the puzzle piece and make the sound of the animal. This 3 pack is great because it give him a variety of animals to learn about. We would not only talk about the animal sounds but where they live.

The kids visiting my family medicine practice just love these! I use them to entertain the kids while I assess their hand-eye coordination and other developmental milestones.

This is a great puzzle set. My 18 month old grand daughter loves playing with them. She matches the animals to animals in her books. Gives us identification practice as well as working on fine motor skills to turn the pieces to get them back into place. We supervise her play as she is younger than the recommended age. The colors are bright and the pieces are sturdy. She will get many months of play & learning from the puzzles.

This was a gift for my granddaughter. She’s 2. She’s been taking them out and trying to get them back together again. I love the fact that they have the animals picture in them or the number count picture to make them easier for a 2 year old. She’s loving them. I think these will be around for a while!!

I bought this puzzle set for my daughter's Easter basket. I wouldn't exactly call this a "a great deal"-- you just get what you pay for. These are sort of a hybrid between the traditional cardboard puzzles and wooden puzzles, with the base being made of thin, layered wood and topped with a cardboard illustration. We've barely opened these and played gently and already the cardboard top is chipping white at the edges! If I had seen these in the store before buying, I'd definitely skip it and spend a little extra for a nice, solid wood, painted wooden puzzle instead. EDIT (I originally reviewed these in March 2015 w/ 3 stars, but here is the November 2015 update): Although they showed some initial wear, these have held up very well and seem to be much more durable than I was concerned they would be. I have had a change of heart about these puzzles. My daughter still absolutely loves them and plays with them almost every day. Now that she's older, she likes playing pretend with the animals too, making them "talk" with their appropriate noises, eat, sleep, etc, almost like playing with paper dolls or figurines. They've lasted both durability wise and entertainment wise, so I do think they were a good deal after all. :) No, not the "traditional" wooden puzzle, but we love them all the same. I hope my former comments are still helpful in regards to knowing the material, but fear not, they have not peeled or chipped noticeably further, which is saying a lot for puzzles who have lasted through toddlerhood so far!

These puzzles are great. Our Grandson of 18 months is having fun with them. I thought he would get bored, and they would be too easy. He plays for hours finding the correct slot that they fit in. He also just plays with each of the pieces. He holds on the the peg and plays walking the animal pieces around.
