While at the price, I am constantly looking for other uses for this thing, it does quite well at what I bought it for. I can finally feel my fingertips again. I was using my fingertips as temperature sensors for electronic components. This thing does a much better job as there is no 1-2 second delay followed by curse words. There might be an occasional curse word as I scramble to find the power supply to quickly unplug it the board I am scanning with it, but the burning sensation in my fingertips is gone.

I purchased this to use in classes where we teach about machinery modification for lubrication best practices as it relates to equipment reliability. The first class I took this too was blown away when they could see why they were having oxidation issues and where their critical gearboxes were storing heat. I knew that thermography would have a good impact on the training, I just didn't realize just how much of a difference it would make to the students for actually having the tool in their hands while going through the class. I will say that I wish I had sprung for the E6, but at the price point this tool definitely does an outstanding job. I would highly recommend for anyone trying to get started in thermography and especially for anyone running a lubrication program inside a manufacturing facility.

It's great, I can see the tips of people nose cooler than the rest of their face. And all kind of werid things like that. I first got it to inspect new house, missing insulation and such. I used it to find breakers that where warming up. And new electric connection, to make sure nothing is getting too hot. I wish I have the 3000$ one. But I don't use that everyday so this one is great.

It is surprising just how many times I have used this Thermal Camera since I purchased it. I have spotted and repaired insulation leaks around the house. Taken it to work so we could diagnose a welding machine. I have even diagnosed a circuit board failure on one of my cars as well. It is not perfect as I even tried to check the temp on the oil in my Turkey Fryer. When I did this the camera screen just flashes and it is difficult to read the temp. Most likely because it is a fluid? Had to switch to my regular thermal temp gage for that application. Nevertheless I am glad I bought it and recommend it to anyone who has a need for it as it is well made.

This is one of the most useful tools I've ever had for fixing things around the house. For now, it's helped me find a cat that somehow managed to climb between two floors and then got lost and went quiet (thanks Amazon Prime for shipping the camera within a day!), and find a flexible duct that some unwanted pests had chewed into and was leaking into the basement ceiling (I had spent several months trying to find where the leak was, and the accompanying awful smell).

This thing is too much fun!! Our home has radiant heating and it multi levels. So I wanted to double check where the pipes was routed for the upstairs levels. Works perfectly! This works for so many things, inside temps, air leaks around windows etc. It also has a Micro SD slot (came with a card as well) so you can record imagines. I'm currently on the road and away from my Flir imagines.

It was better then expected..pictures are of ceiling with a square light, one with a camera other with FLIR TG165 . I did not have to resort to the user manual to operate it which is very important to me.. Im one of those guys that will read the instructions only if i have to... Easy menus to set date and other parameters... the ceiling shot shows the framing above the ceiling on how the light was mounted and looks. I was able to find hidden heat sources that i was not aware of.. had a shredder in stby mode and it was cool to the touch everywhere but apparently not the case internally there was a spot showing significant heat, same with transformers, some normal some excessive.. $350 bucks is a lot for my budget but well worth it.. I asked FLIR as an entry level which is better for application I was going to use it for FLIR ONE or TG165 and the answer was quick the TG165. Well I have not had any other thermal camera so cant may reference but Im glad I bought it..

Not a cheap product- but it already helped me see potentially damaging problems with my real estate investments, which were not noticeable on the surface... A must for homeowners or investors.

This review is on first impressions, as I've only had it one day. I can say I am absolutely impressed with the quality of this camera. I bought this, primarily, to find hot spots in my house so I can insulate accordingly. I live in Arizona and have several areas in my home that stay noticeably warmer than others. Right out of the box, I was able to find multiple areas that are uninsulated. In fact, some areas I was actually able to see the studs behind the wall because of the stark temperature difference between outside and my inside temp. The settings are very user friendly, so I was able to customize within a few seconds. I researched this product for a while before taking the plunge and considered cheaper alternatives. However, I think the price was well worth it. I couldn't imagine getting more of my money's worth.

great display image. highly sensitive.. I can see individual wall studs thru the plaster in my house! also works well to inspect automotive exhaust system for leaks & operating temperatures.
