I gave this saw five stars, but I had a little trouble on my first cut. Since you're cutting from an angle, because you're standing below the limb, you have to be careful to make your cuts somewhat vertically. In other words, don't cut the limb at a weird angle: the chain is likely to come off the spindle. I chose this saw because it was lighter than another brand I had actually lifted at a box store. Once you extend that handle, a couple pounds more than this saw becomes a lot more than a couple pounds. It takes awhile to get used to wielding the thing because it extends to a much larger tool than you are used to handling. But after a few cuts, you get the hang of it. Just be careful, because it's easy to forget you're dealing with such a large tool that can bump into unintended things. Especially be sure your footing is clear of stuff on the ground. Also, be sure to check the chain tension after just a few cuts. The new chain will stretch quickly. Adjust it again and check the oil consumption. It doesn't drink a good chain-bar oil, but it uses it well enough.

I am happy with this purchase. Thr home owner's insurance agent for our condominium required the removal of branches that were touching the buliding from two trees. We got an outrageously high estimate from professional tree trimmers to do this job. Instead I bought this. I had to climb on a porch roof and the flat roof of the building to access the branches. I cut them off in fairly small pieces so there was no chance of the falling branches damaging anything. It went quickly. The job was done in less than an hour, for $400 less than the professionals wanted. The tool was sharp and cut through the branches quickly. It was a little heavy at full extension, but I always made sure that my footing was secure, and I didn't turn the cutter on until the chain was in position. Assembly was straightforward, although it appeared possible to attach the chain assembly upside down if you didn't pay close attention to the instructions. My only complaint was that I had to go to the local hardware store to buy a quart of bar and chain oil. It would have been nice if they had included a few ounces for the first filling of the reservoir.

I had to take down a maple and this is all I had for the job. It worked great, no issues at all, start to finish, with every branch size Including the trunk. I added my 122 lb Shiloh Shepard in a picture to give some perspective to the size of the cuts.

Because it's corded, there's plenty of power behind the chain saw. Just know that you're limited by that cord before buying and you'll have no regrets. The cord also makes the price reasonable. It's well built. I cut 50 decent sized branches on my first outing and had no problems with the saw. I tightened the chain good prior to using, and I never threw the chain the entire time I was cutting. The saw was pinched on several occasions by falling branches, but I never had a malfunction. ***My poll saw did not come with chain oil which you'll need to start cutting.

This is one of the best tool "investments" that I have ever made! I paid for it in the first hour I had it. The trimmers would have charged me three times the cost of this, to trim one time. I love it, I am 78 years old, and it is light enough that I can trim branches high on the trees on our property without any problem.

I have owned the best chainsaws made for many years.. Stihl and Husqvarna. What you get for this price is amazing. Chain adjuster, oil feed work like real chainsaws. This saw looks and works like a quality saw. If you are a homeowner this saw will outlive you hands down. I dislike the power cord, but considering the low usage of a pole saw I'd rather deal with the cord than have another engine to maintain. This saw fits my needs to a T !!

Powerful enough for the serious yard-clearing I am doing. I will have lots of firewood for this Winter in SoCal. But you have to keep a CONSTANT eye on the oil; it uses it pretty quickly. UPDATE: It leaked oil somewhere inside the power unit itself. As I was refilling it before setting it aside in preparation for a visit to Texas, I noticed I was pouring more oil than normally. At first, I thought -"Well, this thing needs to be held in this slight acute angle." (Denial?) After a 2-4 seconds more I had that chilling feeling of -"Whoa, Nellie! I have a leak!" Did I ever. As an aside, in its full extension mode it really becomes a heavy item, even for a 71-year old ol' goat who daily curls 40lbs. x 3 reps of 10. I am now dealing with the extra protection warranty I bought to cover the unit....

I should have bought this decades ago! I'm not even 5' tall (and I'm a straight female-haa haa) and I was honestly scared. It felt heavy because all the weight is on the cutting end. I read and re-read the instructions several times to make sure I set it up correctly, took all the necessary precautions, put the dogs in the house (just in case), and turned it on. I was amazed at how safe and confident I felt so I started cutting branch after branch and am willing to trim other family homes' trees because it was easier than I thought. Although, it is kinda heavy, once the saw is on the tree branch that you'll be cutting, the saw rests there and you won't really feel the weight. In fact, you will be using the weight of the saw to help cut through the branch. And because the blade is moving forward, I somehow feel the saw is not as heavy. I even felt confident to use the pole extension! In the past, I was using a hand saw and it was just exhausting and time consuming. The branches I'm cutting are about 2"-5" in diameter. I don't have enough green waste trash cans so I'll get to use my saw again after the green waste can is empty again!

I have a gas pole saw that works well enough but I bought this pole saw for the adjustable length feature plus being electric it does not have to idle when moving from set up to set up. I used this saw right out of the box the day it was delivered and I couldn't be happier with this saw. As I read either from another review or the manufacturers description, just let the weight of the saw do the work and boy is that right! The chain is 10 inch and one limb I cut through was around 9 inches and there was plenty of power and the saw cut through the limb nicely without the motor slowing down or working hard. I would recommend this saw to anyone.

Excellent product, heavy duty enough to cut branches up to 2 inches with ease. The extendable handle is a whole lot longer than I thought it would be, you can really reach out with this thing! I can see this saw lasting for many years, with the type of use I give it. I did 150 feet of hedges in about a half day, trimming them at about 10 feet. This hedge had not been trimmed for several years and was quite unruly on top, this saw made a tough job much easier.
