Excellent chicken-based grain free formula with higher calories than many adult foods. It’s best suited for kittens and active cats, as the label says. Kibble size is small and disc shaped so it’s very easy for even young kittens to eat. My cats love this food so much I almost think it’s addictive. I believe in a wet, preferably raw diet for maximum nutrition, so I only give my cats a little dry food a day - they are always pleading for more. I experimented with the few grain free kitten kibbles I could find and this was the best. It’s also what my breeder feeds her kittens when weaned and given crunchy food. My cats digest it well without any GI issues. As part of their overall diet, it leaves their fur soft and silky, their health excellent, and so far, their teeth in great condition. I feed this along with a freeze dried raw food that I add water to (Stella and Chewy’s) and some Fancy Feast chicken primavera (green can-only one I buy). The combo seems to work. And believe me, I have two very finicky eaters!

My kitties love this food. They are 7 months and about 5 months old each. One kitty had a weight problem which is now getting better and the other kitty had a weak immune system, which has since improved! I should also note that I add a powdered immune booster and a powdered probiotic into the kibble as well (as a recdomendation by my vet). The kitties are very strong and healthy. They have thick shiny coats that hardly shed, a playful demeanor, and gobble up the food without hesitation. They each get 1/2 cup, so this food lasts! 1/2 cup was recdomeded by my vet for my kitties (each) as per this particular food WITHOUT wet food (they only get that as a treat) per day. (You only really need to feed your kitty wet food so that they intake a good amount of water...but if you get a kitty fountain, they drink like there is no tomorrow!). I would recdomend that you speak with your vet to determine what's best for your kitty/kitties!

My senior cat (16 going on 17) was starting to have malabsorbition issues and was losing body mass. I did some research and found information from a veterinarian and a workup on a study done on a cat colony that was allowed to self regulate the amount of protein vs fat vs carbs in their diet...anyway, most cat foods do not meet the protein requirements for cats and certainly not for senior cats (don't buy into that whole senior cat food nonsense about reduced protein and high fiber) I selected this dry food for its high protein content. A half cup of this food a day provides enough protein for a maintenance level for my cat. I feed him that much of this food daily and he gets a few servings of wet food as well. He has started to gain some mass back and he loves this food. Switching to higher protein should be done gradually with senior cats though as it can shock their kidneys. He is doing well on this food and hopefully he will stick around for a few more years because of it!

Never before have my cats been so happy! The entire Golden line is amazing. I sincerely believe that it is a food that has no competition and I say it because over 18 years where I have had up to 26 cats, no food had given them so many benefits: Their coats become really beautiful, but more important is the health that provide each one of them. It is also very difficult to find a brand of dry food that all my cats like at the same time and only Solid Gold with every flavor achieved it!

We switched from a prescription food, our cats won't eat anything else now! Our black cat was losing color in her fur and it was rough to the touch, and we were told we would need to add extra vitamins and supplements if she were to stay on the prescription diet (urinary s/o) and since switching to this, she's back to herself with shiny, soft fur. We haven't had any issues with crystals coming back, the chicken and egg is a bonus, and they're both healthy weights :)

I bought this 6lbs bag for my 19 year old snowshoe who had lost some weight due to an illness and needed something that was better than his high fiber prescribed diet. He loves this food. He was eating it like there was no tomorrow. He has perked up, his coat looks better and he has more pep in his step. It has not helped with his poo issues which is why he was on a high fiber diet but to make him happy, I mixed the food so he can have it as a treat. It turns out that this food was a hit with my other cats. They liked it so much that I ended up buying two 12 lbs bag for them. It is a bit more expensive than I planned but if my kitties like it, I can spare a few extra bucks for them. Now, if this was on a subscribe and save, that would make me happy.

Both myself and my cat are very happy with this kibble. We had been using the Solid Gold High Protein Chicken kibble, but they discontinued it. My cat is a very finicky eater (with a sensitive stomach--I can't even feed her Purina Beyond Grain Free as she started vomiting all the time--she loved that food but it didn't love her or my carpet). I was worried that she wouldn't be able to tolerate this Indigo Moon variety or that she wouldn't like it, but, thank goodness, I was needlessly worried. She LOVES it! She likes it better than she did the Solid Gold High Protein kibble. And, she has no digestion issues at all. Whew. I am so happy that Solid Gold makes this healthy and very tasty kibble for my baby. 5 happy stars, from both of us.

Great cat food. We switched to this after the rabbit flavor was discontinued and, unlike most cat foods these days, this has the big pellets my cat actually likes. ** Now I have three cats and they all absolutely love it.

Although I can't vouch for the taste personally, my cat loves this stuff. He won't eat anything else since we started him on Solid Gold. We tried this initially because he was loosing his hair and the vet said it could be a food allergy. I don't know for sure, but his hair is back to normal so maybe it was the food. In any case he's a thriving, healthy, 22lb cat and that's what matters.

This has been a great cat food for my 3 Persian cats. The fat cat actually lost a couple pounds and the skinny cat has filled out some. Then my elderly cat is so picky, this is the only food he will eat. Their coats look good, very little litter pan smell, and they don't poop as much on it. Local pet stores have stopped carrying this food for some reason, so now I'm buying it here here....Thanks Amazon!
