I'm fostering 7 pit bull mix puppies and the mom and dad and these have been a life saver. The puppies are only 7 weeks old and are already choosing to go potty on the training pads quite often - it's a work in progress. The pads are extremely absorbent and they do not leave an unpleasant odor - in fact, I don't notice any odor at all, which I prefer. The puppies do try and chew on the pads that are in their training crate, but they're very durable. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the product, the quantity, the quality and the price. I've been going through about 6-8 of them per day. I have also been using them to "mop up" around the room when the puppies have accidents on the tile floor and they absorb very well in that way, as well. I can't say how they work with adult dogs that are being potty trained, as that is not the purpose I'm using them for. They stay in place very well in side the training crates and also on the floor, but be advised - little puppies will probably try and drag them around the room for fun - mine do, but that's just because EVERYTHING is interesting and new to them. Mom and dad doggies just leave them alone, but they also have access to a doggy door to go out side, so they don't use the pads exclusively. There seem to be a lot of options for training pads, and I would consider these among the best over all.

After reading other reviewers' posts, I can understand why some say these pads are not worth the money, yet others swear by them! Let me first say my experience is rather... extensive lol For years, I've been an animal foster parent with a local animal rescue. It's not uncommon for me to house 2-3 dogs/puppies, 3-4 cats/kittens, and a rabbit or 2 (eh, why not?). Plus, I have my own resident 6 yo beagle mix who puts up with my mayhem. It's typical for my home to house a new foster pet every 1-2 weeks! With that said, I've used these pads with a variety of dogs of different sizes, breeds, and ages. Perhaps I can shed some light on the effectiveness of these pee pads! From my experience, these pads DON'T leak from puppies and dogs under 10 lbs. Once your furry friend uses his indoor commode, remove the soiled pad and replace. Whenever I left the soiled pad sitting for too long or allowed a foster to reuse the same pad, the urine and feces will leak. Yet, other pads are so very costly --even the ones from a big retail grocery store and especially from a pet retailer like PetSmart or Petco! Those pads also leak when left on the floor while soiled or allowed to be re-used by dogs and puppies 10 lbs. and under. For dogs and puppies over 10 lbs., you'll be hard pressed to find any training pad that won't have some leakage. So what's a good pet owner to do when they can't promptly remove a soiled pad or who are fortunate to raise a large breed puppy or house a not yet housebroken adult rescue dog? In these situations, you can save money by only allowing the potty area to be on tiled or laminate flooring. Or, you can invest in a hard, plastic pee pad container in which you place the disposable pee pad on top of. Just to throw out a few other tips for housebreaking clean-up... do you have a fun-loving, rambunctious puppy who just loves to tumble right into the pee pad area, toss those training pads around, and then pee RIGHT NEXT to the pee pad (if only it hadn't been tossed around)?! A nice trick is to pickup a thin roll of masking tape and tape off the corners of the pee pad so they stay put! This works on carpet as well; however, you might want to line your carpet with either a hard, plastic training pad or trash bags in order to save your carpet. Regardless of which route you go for your training pad purchase, DON'T use newpapers! Some people try to cut costs by using old newspapers, and if you're in a bind until the morning, these will do in a pinch. However, newspapers definitely and readily leak through. Plus, that nice newspaper ink just runs through to your flooring. It's worth it to buy training pads! As a pet foster volunteer, these are my go-to for training pads. If you want an affordable training pad with a decent quality, these work great! Enjoy and happy housebreaking!

First of all, the price was better than other pads. And- they arrived on my doorstep lightening fast. I have used 4 different varieties of different price, etc. These work without any problems. I have 3 indoor dogs and they all use the pads and I have not experienced leakage. I have had that problem with other pads but not these. (BTW my dogs are a chihuahua, lab mix, and a CavaPoo.) I would like to note that I paid a few extra bucks for the lavender scent and detect absolutely zero fragrance. Next time I'll save that $ and get the unscented. ***I have a 2 level home and use 3 pads on each level. I'm happy with this purchase and will continue with this brand until I find something else as effective but cheaper! (I doubt that product exists.)

these have been a life saver for my wood floors, we have a dog who unlike the other dogs will not use the doggy door and insists on walks and ends up holding it way too long when no one is around and appearantly she has been puppy pad trained before she came to us.......she was using the rugs at the door. .... so to save the rugs we got these and have one by each door in case no one is available to take her for the walk. It makes it simpler to find a used puppy pad and throw it away than to have to keep washing rugs or in my case the rugs were at the end of life and I tossed them. The price was right on these and being such a large pack should last us for quite some time. so thank you thank you thank you for have such a big pack at a great price.and the rugs at the doors were leaking through to my wood floors so this saves the floor too. thanks

I used these training pads 14 years ago to train my new little girl not to pee in the house. No fear or punishment was used - just praise, as she continued to follow them as they were placed closer and closer to the door, until she taught herself to knock on the door when she wanted to go outside. Fast forward - almost 15 years later - my sweet old lady's kidneys are failing and I find myself again reaching for the training pads to deal with her incontinence. So far her only other symptom is some nausea and loss of appetite, easily controlled with medication. I know the end has already been written, but I am so grateful for the extra time with her that comes from closing off some rooms and carpeting the others with the training pads The pads have a gel center that holds even the full amount of an adult dog’s pee. They also change color so that it is easy to see when one has been used. I simply pick the pad up by the most dry corner, dispose of it and put down a fresh pad. These pads allow me to extend our time together. Without them, the final visit to the vet's office might have come much sooner, and not in keeping with any quality of life test. These simple-to-use pads ensure that I will make that final decision based upon the quality of HER life, not based upon mere inconvenience to mine. I never imagined 15 years ago, when these pads so helped with potty training, that they would become so important for her end-of-life issues. She’s still cuddly and affectionate, and we have such love for each other. Thanks to these pads, we have many more weeks together before she must leave me.

As of right now, these are my absolute favorite training pad for my pup. I ordered the X-Large and put them on IRIS Regular Puppy and Dog Training Pet Pad Holder, Blue, which means that the pad is "too big" for the holder. However, I have a male beagle who, for whatever reason, likes to aim at the edge of the holder, and I find that giving him a bit overage helps combat his aiming. They do well with soaking his urine, and only when he's peed more than once on the pad do I smell it. The pads don't gel like Hartz Home Protection Unscented Odor Eliminating Gel Dog Pads - 50 Count, but I don't like for my pads to gel since my dog never uses the whole pad; and I'm able to sort of "fold" the access pad over to clean the corners of the holder. ( I use Comet Bathroom Cleaner Spray - 32 oz - 2 pk to clean the edge and the bottom of the holder since bleach is a base and urine is an acid. I like that it neutralizes the smell of urine enough that my dog doesn't mind going in the same place - he has a Beagley nose and is very selective.) All and all, for the price point, and the amount you get, these pads are absolutely amazing!

I LOVE the price, but my dogs DESTROY these pads, DAILY. DO they work? YES? Do my dogs seem to rip up and shred these pads WAAAAAYYYY more than the $$$$ brand? YES!!!!!! (damnit) With the more EXPENSIVE brand, I NEVER had this problem. (But my bank account LOVES these pads.) AND I have to SHAMPOO my carpets WAY more often than when I used the more expensive brand. But they DO work! I guess I can relish in the fact that I am "bending&stretching" (aka exercise) when I have to shampoo this often. I guess? Okay, it is now June 20th, and I have more to say (errr, write): I had to work late tonite, so my dogs were in the house, on their own, for 8 hours (my dog sitter comes at noon to let my little monsters out). When I got home, I truly did notice the irritating odor of "P" in the house. I was immediately thinking, "Damn! One of the pups missed the pad". So I began cleaning up the soiled pads and discovered that "No, no one missed. It was just the smell from the pads" And once I got them up, the smell was GONE! AND, AND!!! (And this is big) AND, the "P" did NOT LEAK THROUGH THE PAD. I could actually pick them up (sans gloves) and did NOT come into contact with the "P"!! (The more $$$ brand I was discussing earlier DID leak, but they DID absorb the smell. SO- ALL THAT BEING SAID (written) I WILL re-order these pads again. Like I said, they did NOT leak, and once they were up, no more smell. (Besides that's one of the things incense is for, right?)

I have tried probably 10 or more different brands of potty pads and these have been the best. They don’t leak and they have a clean scent. Also they look better than the bright blue pads I normally use. The cute newspaper print is much more attractive! I would definitely recommend these! I have two dachshunds and use 2 pads at a time for each dog. Work great!!

I bought these disposable pads for my geriatric cat who just turned 21 and has pain in her joints so has a hard time getting off my bed to use her litter box. After a couple of unfortunate accidents on my bed I came up with the idea of putting disposable puppy pads on the corner of my bed. I also have a larger washable pad underneath just in case she misses or these leak but so far they haven't leaked at all so this has worked out very well. The idea of making part of my bed her litter box wasn't ideal but when she started peeing on my bed my only other option was to have her euthanized, which I wasn't prepared to do, so I had to figure out a creative solution, and this has worked out better than I expected. These pads are super absorbent so seconds after she pees it has been absorbed, and after a few minutes, it's absorbed so deeply you can't smell urine at all, which was my biggest concern, so in some ways it is actually better than a litterbox. The pads don't smell in the trash either, even after a couple of days, once these pads absorb the urine the odor is completely neutralized. These pads are truly amazing and you can't beat the price. I bought some pads at a local Petco first and a package of 40-pack of 24x24 inch pads cost me $35, and this would have made using these pads cost prohibitive for me, so finding a 150-pack of 22x22 inch pads for $23 was amazing. The slightly smaller dimension didn't matter at all and I think the quality is better than the pads I got at Petco too. The Petco pads didn't neutralize the odor of the urine as completely as these do. I have migraines so I am very sensitive to smell and you literally cannot smell any urine at all once these pads have absorbed it, and it only takes a matter a minutes for the urine to be completely absorbed. I'm so grateful since I've always been able to allow my pet babies to die in peace at home, and Hemma's been my best friend for twenty one years, so I couldn't bear the thought of euthanizing her, and now I don't have to!

At first I was a bit leary about buying this brand because of the reviews. I'm glad I bought them because they work well, and don't break the bank. My dog is a chihuahua, so I can't comment on how it works with large dogs. When they first came, I was worried about them being scented. I was afraid the dog wouldn't use them because I had never used scented pads before. Luckily, the scent is not too strong, and I didn't have that problem. I would definitely recommend this brand.
