I absolutely love the size and the shape of this pan, and love the lid too because I can make broth with the lid on and the liquid reduces at a slower rate. My chicken broth jellied really well in this pan using only chicken wing tips. It's a very sturdy pan, the handle is strong and attached well to the pan, just like an All-Clad. This pan is not as thick as my D5 All-Clad which is to be expected, since those are 5-ply and this pan is 3-ply. So unless you have a need for a very thick pan, this pan should work well for most everything. And the price is more affordable.

I am very impressed with this pan, with only one reservation. First off, it’s made very well. Very solidly crafted, both handles secured well. The lid handle is again very well done, and I do prefer glass lids. In this case I was pleased to find out that the lid can be used in the oven up to 400F (the pan itself can go to 600F). The handles are large, which makes them more easily-gripped using pot holders and I appreciate that detail. The long handle has more arch in it than usual, and I find I quite like that. It does need to be taken into consideration when used in the oven, though, since it will need extra space. I love the deep, slightly flared shape, and of course the whole thing is really a gorgeous pan. We’re still working on building up a good seasoning (seasoning is not just for cast iron ;) but it’s really a joy to work with. We currently have an electric range, but will have a new gas range delivered after Christmas, and I’ll update when we get some experience with that. The only reservation I have is its weight. Honestly, a heavy pan should be expected with its 3 ply steel and a glass lid. I can’t take a star off for that. It’s just that one should be aware if one has any mobility/strength issues that it might clash with. Any questions, feel free to comment or email.

I took a cooking class awhile back where the chef used Viking pans. I didn't even know Viking made pans! My AllClad "go to" was warped (I've learned since then it was my doing) and needed to replace it. I loved the glass lid and the fact that there are measurements on the inside of the pot! Who does that? This has turned into my new "go to" and I could not be happier.

To get this quality in a large deep skillet/pan like this, it's going to be heavy. I haven't used it yet because I'm 73 years old and I'm weak. It's just too heavy for me to pick up but that's my fault not the skillet's. I still plan to use it, I'll just ladle out the food/oil before I put it in the sink to be washed.

Sweet look and even cooking. I have induction stove top and this pan is perfect for the large eye/hob. Lighter than I would have guessed by its size but that's a good thing. Structurely the thing is a tank. You'll be passing this pan on to your children.

I have this pan and other 3 pieces of Viking Culinary Contemporary cookware. They are much better than All-clad D5 series!

Clean design and easy handle, beautiful mirror finish, I used it everyday, my favorite!!
