All you ever need for video poker training

An Essential Tool

Works very well on Mac. Really like the strategy charts and error alerts. Very helpful. Make sure you are practicing the same game you will be playing at the casino!! They can be deliberately confusing with with so many games to choose from. I had success my second time out after I practiced the correct games. An essential tool if you are new to video poker or need to improve your skills.

Serious Video Poker Help, Strategies and Practice all in one!

I have used several programs over the past 15 years to improve my Video Poker play (WinPoker, Wolf Video Poker, VP Strategy Master). Some have the ability to allow the user to change some of the parameters of the payout so as to more closely simulate games found in a Casino. Some of the programs will assist in establishing a play strategy. Some of the books out there (Winning Strategies for Video Poker) offer a good listing of strategies for some games. They are all good programs, books and resources and I still use them. With that said Optimum Video Poker combines the best of what I have found over the past 15 years into one program, allows one to practice, adds a lot more insight and options at your finger tips. I added "The Secret World of Video Poker Progressives" by Frank Kneeland and work between the book and Optimum Video Poker and it has really helped me to develop my strategies for VP play. You can emulate a Progressive by changing the values of the Jackpots and then generate strategies (in just minutes) at different payouts to then go and play ON PROGRESSIVES!!! The volume of data, strategies, Risk of Ruin Calculations, EV percentages makes this Product a must have for the VP player wanting to improve the odds of winning in a predictable manner. I am heading to the Casino the last weekend in January and will see how it all works out. DocMike

The program is a great learning experience and if anything allows you to play longer and win more. Attest that it worked at a casino this past week.Also, I had some problems loading the program when it first arrived and e-mailed Dan. He replied within a half hour and we solved the problem. The program does allow you to make smarter choices and makes you aware of the different payouts at each machine. Besides that, it's a lot of fun.

I have a copy of all the popular video poker trainers and none of them have the features of this one. I simply love the on-screen strategy that displays when you've made an error and shows you the correct draw "on the strategy card you'd be using in the casino". This makes so much sense I'm not sure why no one thought of it sooner. Also the strategy generation feature really works. Great program...
