Blaze a fire without newspaper residue floating around your house. Teepee your wood, place 2-3 of these below the teepee, light, and relax; within 10 minutes you'll have a self-sustaining fire. For the cleanest and easiest fire of all, get some pre-heated wood at least for for start of your fire to build a nice coal base and also to avoid bringing bugs into your house. That's the way it's done.

I have a fire pit in my backyard and build fires year round. I have tried pretty much every fire starter there is. Most are ok, some don't work well and others take a long time to catch a flame. These work incredibly well! The best ones yet. They are really easy to get lit and they burn a long time. I also use these in my Greeg Egg smoker and they get the charcoal going with relative ease. I HIGHLY recommend these. I am ordering my second batch today. As long as they don't jack up the price they will have a long-term repeat customer.

These things are amazing!! I'm a little fire starting challenged, and it was raining juuuust enough to make me miserable while camping this weekend. But I threw a couple of these puppies into the fire (I ended up using two because of the rain/lack of skill - probably only need one) and BAM, even I could get flames! And if I can do it, anyone can do it.

Simple as they are, these work extremely well. They light very readily (even with a Ferrocerium rod) and I've never needed more than one to start a campfire, even with wood that isn't completely dry. They burn for quite a while and the bucket carrier is a great bonus. When I was shopping for firestarters I almost bought the small chemical 'cake' kind, but I'm glad I decided on these. They work well and I'm not concerned about myself or my kids inhaling God-knows-what. Finally these are made by adults with disabilities and I think that's a great thing.

These work great and are easier to light than the brick style made by other companies. I love the bucket that they come with. The price is really high when you consider that these are paper cups filled with sawdust and wax, but the fact that these are made by people with disabilities makes me feel better about the price and supporting them. These are very similar to the egg carton cups we used to make in boy scouts, but I have to admit that having cub scouts playing with melted wax in our kitchen isn't the most appealing thought. Maybe we will buy them for now and make them when the kids are older.

First, this review of Light-A-Fire pertains only to its use as a fire starter for lump charcoal in a Kamado grill (Vision Pro S). These were comparison tests over a number of days. Light-A-Fire, All Natural Fire Starters were set up on one side of the grill and Stick Stacks Fire and Charcoal Starters were set up on the other side. The two were lit afire at the same time and observed as the charcoal lit. Light-A-Fire was far superior to Stick Stacks being wider and not as dense. Stick Stacks smoldered while Light-a-fire caught fire right away; and started the charcoal with no problems. Another plus for Light-A-Fire is the fact that it comes in a plastic container that protects the starters from moisture while awaiting use. I recommend these starters highly.

I am the pit master of a grand championship competitive bbq team. Light-a-Fire starters are my go to starters. They are the bomb for starting a chimney of coals. They burn much longer you would expect by looking at them with a tall flame. One of them can get a full chimney of coals burning quickly. They are much cleaner than newspaper leaving no ash. They are much better than lighter fluid or petroleum based starters which can leave a residue that one can taste and is likely toxic.

I bought these for use in my green egg and they are awesome. I won't be going back to the wax squares. These are my "go to" lighter from now on. Highly recommended. You just take one of the cups out of the bin they come in, push it between the charcoal. A very small flame is required to get them started. Once they do, the product is guaranteed to work. I love these things. Honestly when I ordered them, I didn't have high hopes they would be taking over the job of something I've used for along time; wax squares. But after a couple uses, I am not going back.

Outstanding! I received my Light-a-Fire, and tried it right away. I have to say, that we were really shocked at how fast, and clean these wonderful lighters are. It lit perfectly the first time, and with no extra fuss whatsoever. We put it under our charcoal holder, lit it, and it was no time at all, before our charcoals were ready to use. Faster than with newspaper too! We also do a lot of wood burning, and I'm very sure that they will light them without any problem. I love that the materials are so safe, and that they used food grade wax too. You couldn't ask for anything better in my opinion, and will now be purchasing more too. We use a grill all winter, and I'm thrilled to know that we will have great lighters for it, that won't cause the headaches most lighters do in a cold windy winter. What a relief!!!

These are amazing little pods. They light in a moment with a lighter or match and produce a nice steady, 12" high flame that is ideal for lighting even damp logs in the fireplace. The steady flame continues for a good 10-15 minutes if you don't want to put it out to reuse it. It all comes in a nice bucket packed to the top with a bunch of these pods. In the past it was always a hassle to grab kindling, newspaper, etc to start up the fireplace. Since we don't use the fireplace for heating I found that the process made me less likely to get a fire going. With these it's as easy as setting a few logs on the rack. Setting a pod under the logs, hitting it with the lighter, and sitting back to enjoy! While I use these indoors in a fireplace, I have no doubt they'd work just fine for a camp fire, bonfire, or wood stove as well.
