wrapped well with original Fender inspection tags and those cool plastic wraps on the tuning keys
Fender Steve Harris PBass a Review. Came boxed up well from Amazon -opened to find original Fender box under Amazon shipping box. Inside that it was inside the gig bag , wrapped well with original Fender inspection tags and those cool plastic wraps on the tuning keys. Exciting! Came with warranty book, fender history book and Bass manual. Oh and Strap locks -nice touch! Smelling new and looking shiny! The website picture really does not do it justice. The Chrome mirror pick guard really shines in person. And the fret board is beautiful wood. That Olympic white stands out and the pin striping is just awesome. I got out the electric tuner and really only needed to make a slight adjustment- that's a Fender for you. they stay tuned like a champ! It came out of the box ready to go. Some might think the action is a bit low -but since i am a noob i loved it. I may get it adjusted up later when i develop my chops a bit more. Damn this bass goes way beyond expectations! the play is easy across the board and it sounds brilliant!! crazy for a Made in Mexico bass. This is a lifetime bass and i hope to be rocking Motorhead on it when i am 70 -in a tribute to Lemmy. Get one delivered to your hands -you will love it!

... bass for over 30 years and I am in love with this instrument
Been playing bass for over 30 years and I am in love with this instrument. Yes, I'm a Maiden fan but this is a beautiful bass regardless. The sound is incredible, particularly the sustain. So happy I got one of these (they're tough to find, don't hesitate).

Amazing piece of hardware
Amazing piece of hardware!! massive body and neck ~15lb great sustain yet very easy to play on the fretboard the pickup is really loud and very sensitive (responds better than my active Ibanez). but easy to control form the volume pot the tone control has a huge range it really changes the instrument the bridge is really solid even with all the weight on the body it transfers the strings to the body really well. The bass is built in Mexico and the quality is great. the finishing on the pinstripe is really good and frames the body really cool on stage. the mirror pickguard gives it lots of cool factor under any lights the decal is really high quality no fuzziness no effect on the clearcoat. all Maiden fans will love it, all Fender fans can trust the tone quality and sound of a good Pbass with upped hardware(bridge and pickup) Comes with a super-thin toy-like Fender gigbag would work great with lighter basses not this one, too heavy but does the job just won't last too long. when i got it, the Rotosounds SH77 were not in the box; had to contact the seller to get a separate shipping for the strings it comes with Fender standards i believe, pretty bright strings that depends on your preference, I like heavier gauges but it's up to you. Things to look for... mine had a little rust on one of the machine heads just a little speck but you would not expect that. It is heavy, get a fat strap. The new Steve Harris Sig. has a better bridge and comes in the blue sparkle finish I like the White one better, up to you really... the blue one is more expensive have not tried it i don't know if the tone quality etc justify the prize. This is a really good Pbass with cool looks. Up the Irons!!!

Mission from 'Arry
Awesome bass! After shipping to MI during a snow storm it may need a setup but other than that it's amazing! Been wanting to own a Steve Harris Signature for a long time and it's about time! The neck on this bass is beastly so if you have smaller hands I wouldn't recommend it. It has amazing tone, clear, deep lows, punchy mids, and the clearest and most mix cutting highs i've ever heard a precision bass have. UPDATE: So I've had this bass for over a year now and I still love it! However, I did have an issue with a neck pocket gap. The routing for the neck pocket was poorly done and they over tightened the neck bolts at the factory to the point of the holes on the neck plate were pulled through. I put a new neck plate on and it helped a lot but it does still bother me that there's a gap there at the top of the pocket. It does not seem to affect the sound, but since it's a thousand dollar bass this shouldn't be an issue. 2ND UPDATE:So neck pocket was not sanded correctly at the factory. The part of the pocket where the neck should be laying flush with the body has a wave in the wood (on the body) and is causing the neck to not sit flush in the pocket. This can be solved by sanding a little in the pocket but wow, very poor QC on the MIM factories part.Obviously this is a one off issue and I've played other copies of this bass that did not have this issue.

Better than my American Standard P Bass
Unbelievably crafted and it is built like a tank (over 13 lbs). The sound from the Steve Harris signature pick ups is crisp and clean. The paint job was well done. There is one reason why it is better than my American Standard P Bass and that's because Steve Harris was involved. I am also very impressed with the fender high mass bridge. Very comparable to a Leo Quan bad ass bridge. The body is solid and heavy, the neck solid, straight and heavy which makes the sustain go on forever. I was lucky enough to get one of these when they first came out. Now they are on backorder. I hope Fender does not cut any corners trying to keep up with the back orders. I have been playing bass for over 30 years. I am a big Steve Harris fan and I own all 3 of his signature basses. This new West Ham bass blows away Harris' 2009 Lake Placid blue sparkle version. I thought the 2009 was a good bass for the price and this bass is $300 less! If your a Maiden fan this is a no brainier. If your just a P Bass lover this has to be in your repitiore. Good job Steve Harris and Fender!
