It's right up there with sliced bread for great inventions
I'm kind of a fanatic about keeping my cords neat and separated. I detest trying to untangle a mass of wires and cords. I'd never heard of these before, but came across them on the Amazon site, and they looked useful. I love them! Not only do they get the job done, but, unlike the wire or plastic twisties, they can be used over and over without damage to the tie. And, as an added bonus, I can color code my wires and cords! While they are more expansive than other products for this purpose, they are still very reasonable - and far superior.

Wonderful ties!
These ties are really great. After reading a review on another product that suggested these, I went ahead and bought them. I'm currently using one tie to keep my shower caddy from falling down and so far-so good! They really do stay in place. I'll probably use the second one for my million computer wires.

x1000 Better than Velcro Straps!!!
There's an abundance of incredibly long, nasty, gross but perfectly functional and (theoretically) useful extension cords in the garage that the guys in my house refuse to part with. These items have been driving me crazy for years! I finally discovered a method to store them vertically (Elfa Easy Hang Tracks with Accessory Hooks- LOVE LOVE LOVE); however, there was the enduring issue of keeping them shaped in a way that makes them "hangable." (Both in terms of function and my obsessive need to make them appear pretty.) I tried multiple methods, including assorted ropes, wires, and Velcro straps (I do NOT recommend these for multiple reasons) until I stumbled across silicone ties. Initially, I used shorter ones (as I happened to have 6" ties on hand). They worked GREAT, but it required 4-6 ties for the longest cables. I'm really grateful to have discovered these.... The 18" length is absolutely PERFECT for these industrial sized cords! As long as I wrap them well to start with, just 2 of these babies keeps the cords well shaped. They don't tangle on themselves, they're easy to reshape, and this size provides a nice, strong grip! Additionally, I spent quite some time searching for the best prices for the highest quality ties and believe that these are the best bang for the buck. (I paid $11 and some change for a pack of 6, multicolored 18"). In case you're looking at my pics and trying to figure out what the hell is going on... I still have a few Velcro straps on the bigger cords. Not that they're really serving any purpose, I just haven't taken them off yet.

The 6" ones work better for computer
These really hold, are much easier to use than cable ties or Velcro-style ties, and don't break or get weak. Available in many sizes and colors. This it the size we use for wrapping small charging cords, USB cables, headphone cords, etc.. The 6" ones work better for computer, TV, and appliance cords, while the larger ones work great for extension cords, Christmas lights, etc..

Great cable organizers!
My wife picked these up as a quick way to organize all those pesky cables that have become a mainstay in our daily lives. Honestly, what a royal pain to dig in a drawer and pull out 1 cable...that is attached to 2 cables...that are attached to 4 more cables. It's an endless cable pull. Enter the Nite Ize Gear Ties. No more twist ties that are good for a use or two, these are reusable and work great for just about any standard sized charging cable. Would work for network cables and power cords too. They work exactly as they are designed and provide an nice organizational touch to our world filled with cords!

Wrap your Cords!
Gear Tie Reusable Rubber Twist Ties from Nite Ize are perfect for temporarily wrapping up cords of appliances, computer equipment, or electronics (eg, headphones). And I do mean PERFECT! The flexibility is just right (flexible but firm) and the rubber coating is excellent... and there are some nice colors too. I use them for tying up cords for my iPod headphones, rice maker, steam iron, computer cables, and about 100 other annoying electric cords found around the house. This is wonderful because the cords become neat little bundles that can easily be untied and used, and then tied up again, with ease. Cords of counter- and desk- top appliances no longer have cords hanging around. Headphone cables no longer become a tangled mess. Look around, I'll bet you can count 50 cords that could be tied up. I say these ties are for temporary use because they are designed to be tied and untied, a million times or so. If you want to permanently tie your cords it's probably better, and surely cheaper, to use good old cable ties (sometimes called zip ties). How about length? The 3 inch version is perfect for wrapping up iPod headphone or other VERY small cables. You'll be surprised how big (ie, circumference) a bundled cord can be so be careful with the 3 inch. This 6 inch version is just right for wrapping cords of coffee makers, lamps, and perhaps thinner vacuums and so forth. There's an 18 inch version that I've used in the garage for thick extension cords, cords from circular saws, and so forth. I suppose the downsize is the cost. They are not dirt cheap. But for me the cost is dwarfed by the benefit. I'm just so mad I didn't "invent" these!

Industrial Twist Ties - Great for organizing cords, straps, or other materials.
I tried some of these out awhile back and have been buying more over time. I had been trying to use velcro straps to organize power cables on tools, ratchet straps, and other similar items. The problem was that over time I'd end up with dirt, leaves, sawdust, and other crud stuck in the velcro. These Gear Ties are basically industrial twist ties - like you find on your bag of bread from the bakery. However, they have a sturdy rubber coating and a strong inner core (wire of some sort, I suppose). You know how the paper or plastic strip on a twist tie breaks down and you're left with just the wire? Not these! I've been using the oldest ones I have for a little over a year and the coating is still intact on all of them and the inner core still is firm. After a couple of the blister packs from local stores (usually with two ties in a pack), I went online looking for bulk quantities and found these. Definitely worth buying in larger quantities!

looks nice + practical
These are fantastic little things; they're lightweight but feels quite sturdy. I have been using some this last month (tie/untie each day), and they still look as new -- I think these will hold up really well. These little ties are really awesome and fairly economical -- perfect for tech device cables; highly recommended!

Numerous Uses, Well Made, Hold Shape
I used this 2pk to secure a (3’ high) garden gate. The gate consists of 2 swinging panels. The gate came with a factory attached locking mechanism. The factory lock doesn’t even remotely hinder a 70lb bulldog from gaining access to the garden. However! These 2 gear ties stop him every time! They’ve been on the garden gate for over 3 months. They hold just as well now as on day 1. The attached pics show how I use this product to lock the gate and the unhappy bully byproduct. He actually jumps up and pushes with all his weight (because that’s how he used to get it open) BUT these gear ties stay in place!

Excellent Solution... a couple of tips
I purchased a number of solutions recently for tangled cables. I tried them all, and these are the best. They are the least bulky of the solutions I tried, lay flat, hold the cords well, and don't loosen. Other solutions either twist so the cords don't flatten for drawer storage, or they are bulky. They are a bit expensive, but can be reused and straightened out to tie other cables. I think they are worth the cost. I purchased both the 3 and 6 inch. The 6 inch are heavier, but are perfect for laptop charging cords, etc. I use the smaller, 3 inch for iPad charging cords, headphone cords, etc. Here's how I've used them: I leave the charging (or headphone) and plug ends long(ish), and roll the middle section. Then, I twist these ties around the rolled section of the cord. This way, the ends are available when you need them without untwisting the cord ties...it just means you have to keep the device closer to the plug. It's working very well, and has really helped me to organize what was a huge mess of cords. Then, I hang the rolled section over a hook, or on a hanger that has hooks for belts. This works great. Another option is lay the cords flat in a drawer. I purchased different colors, and have somewhat coded my cords by type, but I also have my cords labelled, which I strongly recommend. Saves a lot of time. Any questions? Drop a note, and I'll get back to you. Enjoy!
