I have special requirements . I have a giant breed(Irish Wolfhound) and a tiny mini dachshund . The big one whacks the bells with great force. My previous bells couldn't stand up. The mini needs them to be long enough the she can lift her little paw and ring them. These bells are both sturdy and long. Great communication and service from the company.

Worked like a charm

We have owned several dogs and they are always inside outside dogs. Meaning they must be potty trained. Our new addition a 4 month old german shepherd was having trouble getting the idea of going outside. He knew he wasn't supposed to go inside and knew he got a treat for going outside but couldn't grasp the concept of letting us know when he needed to go out. Had read on line that some dogs who are more difficult to potty train sometimes respond to door bells and such. After receiving the product hung it on the door we normally go out to potty and he picked up the idea that he was supposed to ring it to go out within one day. That has been a couple of weeks ago and have not had one single accident in the house since. He goes up and rings the bell with his muzzle and then sits there waiting to be let out every time. Worked like a charm!

I am amazed at how fast my dog caught on. I anticipated the arrival of the potty bells and prepared myself for how to use and train my dog by watching a few videos on Youtube with similar products just different brand names. It really is so very simple. Once the potty bells arrived, they also came with a set of simple instructions which I also used and implemented. First, I used a treat reward method, when introducing him to the bells. I placed the treat in-between potty bells and as he approach the treat I gently tapped the bells on his nose and praised him and gave him his reward. About 5-6 times later he understood, approaching the bell and tapping the bells with his nose meant a treat reward. Then I moved onto the door. It took only a handful of times before my french bulldog understood that ringing the bell with his nose = door opens. I can tell he understood by the movement of his eyes. Looking at me ringing the bell then looking at the door open. I must have done this 20 times in a row, just so I get the message clear. Then I reinforced this by ringing the bell each time we leave to go potty. Before I knew it, later that night on two occasions he rings the bell with his nose, and off we go to potty. With a little bit of patience, your dog will get the hang of it too. I highly recommend "Potty Bells".

I absolutely love this product and idea! My Border Collie is about 1.5 years and was really struggling with potty training. He would potty outside if we let him out often enough, but would go in the house if he happened to need to and the door was shut. Simply put, he couldn't figure out how to indicate to us that he needed the door opened. We started the training by hanging the bell on the door and told Patches to "ring your bell". It took him a few days to figure out we wanted him to nudge the bell, but he did figure it out. He began nudging it on command the following week. By the 3rd week he was ringing it on his own, even when we were out of the room! It's been about a month now and we've gone nearly the whole month without any accidents in the house! I was hopeful when I ordered the bell. I figured it would eventually work based on classical conditioning, but I honestly didn't think it would work this well and this quickly. After months of stress, countless packages of doggie diapers, and (before the diapers) nearly daily carpet cleaning, this has been the best result I could have ever hoped for.

She swings on them like Quasimodo ringing the bells of Notre Dame. Sometimes it's because she wants to go out. Sometimes it's because she needs to go out. Sometimes it's just for fun. But it has saved us a few accidents. I think as she gets older she'll get more selective. P.S. This took virtually no training. I just hold her up to the bells and let her ring them every time we go out.

Took a while but now they work like a charm!

We got a 9 month old puppy recently and he was partly house trained. He was having many accidents all over the house but would go to the door sometimes because he wanted out. However, we did not always know when he was at the door. A friend suggested using a bell. I was doubtful until I started reading reviews and watching videos on the bells, so I thought, "What can it hurt?" Our little Morkie, (part Maltese, part Yorkie, about 6 pounds), was very curious about the bells when I unboxed them. I simply let him sniff them before hanging on the door. Once I hung them on the door, I stuck a treat on one of the bells (it was a soft treat so I was able to press it partly down into the bell where it would secure). Whenever Cody nudged it with his nose, regardless if it made much noise, I gave him a treat and opened the door. After about 10 times, I started taking him outside when he nudged the bell and gave him the treat outside. We did this about 10 times too. I continued with this repetitive action for about 3 more days and always tried to get him to nudge the bell before we went out. Oddly enough, he stopped nudging the bell and almost seemed scared of it so I took it down for about 1 week, Once I returned it to the door, he immediately started nudging the bell! I was amazed! As a matter of fact, he rings it loudly now and does it about 10 - 15 times a day because he LOVES to go outside, even when he doesn't have to go, lol! He's had only one accident since I returned it to the door and that was mostly because he was not let out long enough to "finish his business".

These Potty Bells are an excellent choice for anyone needing a solution to potty training. It took our 6 week old German Shepherd about a week to pick up that the bells meant outside. Our only problem is that he rings the bells to go outside and play, or if he hears a neighbor dog outside. We haven't found a way to get him to stop doing that, but he hasn't had an accident inside for a few weeks now. I love our Potty Bells!

We purchased a border collie a few years ago, she went from living on a farm to living in a single family home. We house trained her and that didn't take long, but when she wanted to go out she would always go stand near the door, bark until I heard her and scratch the paint off the area under the door handle. VERY FRUSTRATING!!! We needed to find a solution to this problem and dog doorbells was it! I had never heard of dog doorbells, but a friend of mine told me there were a few companies that made them. We searched for them on Amazon, and bought some a few months back. It took our dog about a week to understand how we wanted her to use them, but now she rings the bells every time she wants to go out. I must say, hearing the bells ring vs hearing scratching and barking is music to my ears!!! At first I was wasn't sure if I would be able to teach my dog how to use the bells, so I found a few videos on youtube which helped me get ideas for training our pup. I learned that you shouldn't react to the bells every time the dog rings the bells, because they will think it's a toy. If the dog just went to that bathroom and you hear the bells ringing 10 minutes later, chances are the dog just wants attention. I would suggest only reacting when you know the dog hasn't been out for at least an hour, maybe 35-45 minutes if the dog just ate or it's a small dog. Well the first bells we bought broke, and we needed a replacement. We hopped back on Amazon and selected Potty Bells because they looked like they were quality. I can tell you that once I opened the package I knew I made the right choice. The material is great, the stitching is great, the rings are solid and the bells are nice a loud. The decoration is cute and it SHIPS WITH A BEGINNER'S GUIDE (Nice touch)!! Our pup took to them with no issues and she's back to her old ways. So far these Potty Bells are a great product and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to house train their dog. I'll be back to leave more feed back if anything changes. 5 Stars for now.
