Excellent Tool for Shredding Cheese

Excellent tool for shredding soft cheese like cheddar. Very easy to wash, can hand wash or put it in dishwasher. Easy to use. Nice that there is a plastic cover, as well. Well worth the price.

Another keeper by di Oro!

Now that I've had a chance to use this nifty tool, I can say I really like it. The product is well balanced and not at all awkward. I have a medium-to-large sized hand, so the diameter and heft of the handle suits me perfectly. That being said, this grater is light, while still being solid and gives a nice result, no bending or stressing at the neck. Also, the end where the small black plastic piece is located has a slight bend to it, which serves to anchor the grater over top a bowl or saucepan. Nice touch!

Better than Microplane...

Had a Microplane grater before with handle that broke. This new grater is sharper, easier to hold and more sturdy ... we love it!!

Ease of use

I've only used this grater on hard parmigiano reggiano cheese. It performed extremely well. This grater is definitely sharper than other graters, and is easy to clean. It's like they say about a chef's knives, the sharper the better. I think one would have to be more careful with this grater when getting your skin close to the cutting surface.

I'm in love!

I have nothing but good things to say about this grater! It's made very well, definitely a solid piece of kitchen equipment, and it is very sharp and shreds cheese in the nicest little curls. It is quite sharp so do watch out (my thumb will tell you), but that is completely my fault for not being careful! And I doubt my last grater would have shaved anything off even if I tried to taken some flesh to it, that's the difference in sharpness from my old one to this one. I would take super sharp any day! The cover is also a huge bonus because it's much safer in the drawer. At first I was worried this would feel too small (compared to my old box grater), but I needed something small to fit in a drawer so I gave it a go. I will NEVER go back to a box grater again! The size is perfect, making it so easy to store, easy to hold while shredding cheese, and cleaning is actually a joy rather than a chore (compared to a box grater). I think I'm in LOVE!

Sharp and exactly what I wanted..

Don't laugh..but yes.. this is Sharp.. My first batch of hard cheddar cheese and I pushed too hard and my hand slipped.. and sure enough.. I cut myself.. But.. I find minions band-aid's help with the pain and embarrassment.. As I was laughing at myself I changed how hard I pushed and let the grater do the work and the rest went well.. little curly shreds that were perfect..

SHREDDER!!!!

With careful use and storage this will be the greatest thing since...shredded cheese. It is extremely sharp (as in you will shave your fingers if you aren't practicing careful cutlery). This is a positive because it means very easy work and finely shredded cheese. Make sure you keep the cover and use it when in storage to avoid and drawer accidents. I've heard some people complain that they cut themselves on it. It's true. I've don it too, but it comes down to careful use. Don't blame the tool for improper use. If you hold the grater and your shreddable material carefully (as in don't try and get the very last bits) then you'll have a great experience. The handle is well shaped and easy to grip and the frame of the shredder is strong and durable plus has a rest for shredding downwards. A very well designed shredder. We have washed it in the dishwasher numerous times and it's always held up very well. We've been through several shredders but this one is definitely the best. Highly recommend this product.

Great shredder with guard.

Really, really sharp cutting, and works for lots of vegetables, apples, etc. I like the protective cover that, turned upside-down, catches the shredded material for easy addition to s kettle, bowl, etc.

Nice grater

I use this almost every day -- it is my go-to grater. Beautifully constructed, strong, well balanced, easy to clean, and very sharp. I recommend this. The cover is flexible and easy to snap on/off. I have 4 other graters -- they are usually idle.

A professional tool that very sharp

No mistake here. This is SHARP. Be careful, it is a real professional tool. This is not for kids. It makes quick work of any veggie or cheese. I expect it will last a very long time.
