In my son's words: I was watching a few of my favorite YouTubers (who is an artist) when suddenly I stumbled upon one of their videos unboxing and reviewing the Huion H420 drawing tablet. After the video which was an overall positive review, I just had to see if the tablet was worth the thirty-dollars. After the package came as a birthday present, I unboxed it and since then have had no issues and an overall enjoyable piece of tech that I have been enjoying since December. This is definitely a great drawing tablet that is great for beginners who are both learning and starting out on drawing digitally on a computer. The tablet lets you program how the pen works and comes with not only a carrying case, but extra parts for the tablets pen, a glove to keep the tablet clean from sweaty or dirty hands, as well as a tablet cleaning kit which consists of a cleaning cloth along with cleaning gloves and the spray that contains the chemicals that are used to clean the tablet. And of course it comes with the installation CD which allows you to set up the tablet. If the CD doesn’t work, is broken, or you’re computer does not have a disc tray, fret not as you can go on their website and download the drivers there which will allow you to install the program needed to have the tablet work. Over all a worthy piece of tech I enjoy and would recommend to anyone who’s either starting out or wants a cheaper but efficient drawing tablet that works.

I was a bit skeptical about buying one of these at first. I have always wanted a drawing tablet , but I thought I would get it and hate it but I don't. I love it and it is super easy to you (don't let the thick instruction booklet intimidate you, it really is not hard to use at all). I am very happy I bought this and it is great quality :)

I really like this tablet, and I think it is a very good choice, at least for what I use it for. My main uses for this tablet are playing Osu and practicing kanji on Skritter. Osu: The tablet is very responsive and the cursor updates immediately. The tablet allows hovering up to a little over a centimeter. If using this for Osu, I recommend trying to hover or dragging very lightly across the surface of the tablet. You can turn off mouse buttons in Osu settings which makes it so that if you touch the tablet, it won't register a click in Osu. I find the buttons on the side of the pen to be a little bit annoying since I don't use them, though. Skritter: This tablet works great for Skritter. Tapping, holding, and dragging work as expected. I should say it does not feel like writing on paper, though. The tablet has a hard plastic surface and it feels like trying to write on plastic. Drawing: I haven't used this tablet much for plain drawing. I used it once and found the pressure sensitivity to be a little weird, but you can adjust it a little in the tablet's settings. I would recommend a better tablet if you intend to draw on a regular basis, but this should be an okay cheap alternative for someone who is just starting out. You won't be blown away by it, though. Tablet Settings: My main issue with these is the tablet area. There is no way to adjust the tablet area precisely. You must estimate the size of it by resizing the box in the options. There are no fields to enter height or width or anything of the sort. On top of this, there is no way (that I know of) to save settings, so if you would prefer different tablet areas for different tasks, you may be out of luck. But this is Huion's fault for not including it in their driver. Case and Equipment: I really like the case and equipment this tablet ships with. The cleaning equipment is more than enough to care for your tablet. I find that I don't really need to use it much. The glove for writing is a comfortable fit and stretches to fit many sizes of hands (I have fairly big hands). The case isn't amazing. I find the pocket on the side to be only useful for the writing glove, unless you want a bulky fit. However, everything fits inside the main compartment nicely and the tuck-in flap ensures your tablet won't fall out. The material is a rough felt with a fake leather strap. It appears hand-made and well-sewn. The inside is cozy and protective.

I bought this for myself, because I'm a casual and beginner Photoshop user who likes making clothing graphics on Roblox. I needed to be able to make smoother lines, and this had decent reviews, so I thought I'd give it a try. When you pop in the CD and choose which OS you have, it opens the drivers window, you simply have to choose which tablet you have out of the list of drivers. This initiates the software install. If you have zero computer skills, this might seem a little confusing, since install doesn't happen automatically, and plugging in the tablet to the computer doesn't cause it to recognize which tablet model it is. This tablet is AMAZING for the price I paid. I can not believe everything it does. It has three buttons along the side and the can be used to change controls inside the graphics program I'm using. The pen also changes the brushes I'm using with the buttons near the tip. The strokes are smooth, draws gorgeous curves, and it does pressure changes so beautifully. It was truly stunning to see so much come out of such an inexpensive tablet. You can change pressure sensitivity, and screen size in the setting to match your display, so I had no difficulty drawing in Photoshop despite the small size of the drawing tablet. I really love this thing. It is perfect for someone who is just starting out, or is very casual and does not do a lot with graphics and want something to use intermittently. The tablet came with replaceable tips and cleaning supplies, as well as a protective sleeve for the tablet. The pen came with a battery and replaceable tips. I am extremely pleased with this purchase, and glad there was an inexpensive option out for beginner-lever in graphics programs use. ---- UPDATE ---- 7/1/17 Just bought a second one for my mother, who is an artist and who has never done digital drawing before. She had previously bought another brand and spent $100 on it, and said it was awful and was really disappointed. I recommended Huion to her then just bought her this same one. She couldn't believe how amazing it was. She's in love! She uses it in Adobe Illustrator and is really addicted. I will continue to recommend this to people.

So far, this is a fantastic package for a fantastic price. PACKAGE: Just got it today. Opened it up and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of everything included. The cleaning kit (includes a pair of white gloves, dusting cloth, and a telescoping soft brush) is soft and well-made. The weird black glove (what are those called, anyway?) is soft, stretchy, and comfortable, and it fits well; even though I have small hands I can tell it would fit nearly anyone. It also comes with a felt-and-leather kit pouch which is a nice touch and a much better option than using the box as storage. The tablet itself seems sturdy; it's flat and smooth without any fancy gimmicks to get in your way. SOFTWARE: When installing the drivers on my Windows computer, the drivers didn't automatically install themselves -- not a bad thing or even an expectation, just a bit intimidating 'cause I'm not tech savvy. The manual didn't mention this part, so when I opened up the drivers folder I just installed the six files manually. Working fine so far. When I first turned it on there was no pen pressure, but that's fine. My last tablet was also an under-$40 model from another brand and was the same way so it's an easy fix (just needs calibration). When I loaded up my art program after calibration, there was a weird bit where the pen stopped working but it had nothing to do with this product (it's a weird Krita thing apparently). Easy fix. PEN: I also prefer this pen more than my old model, as it's not nearly as heavy (hand cramps!) but still feels like a real tool in my hand rather than a hollow plastic tube. It even comes with a battery! So far there is no jittering/shakiness to the pen cursor and it moves smoothly. TABLET: The surface of the tablet itself is responsive edge-to-edge, which helps when the surface is small to begin with as you don't end up feeling cramped. USE: Aside from reconfiguring some settings (just simple preferences; was very easy though!) this product is working fantastically so far. It meshes seamlessly with my art software (Krita 💚), was easy to set up, and is very customizable AND responsive. I'm still getting the hang of it, but that's more to do with learning the media as this is only my second art tablet. Overall I am ecstatic with this purchase, and will update this review if anything changes. :) TL;DR: Awesome tablet kit, awesome price, awesome art. Zero complaints! I'm in no way compensated for this review, I'm just easily excitable. :D

For a newbie to graphic design, I have to say this is by far THE BEST item to start with. Its not difficult to set up and the ease of use is remarkable! I know this sounds cliche and you may be thinking this review is bogus, but check my review page, this is an honest review and I did not receive a discount for purchase, I paid for this item in full and want to share with you just how great of a buy this is. The glove provided for your ring and pinky finger is so comfortable I forgot I had it on. The Pen is easy to use, though I would recommend disabling the keys on it until you get used to handling it. I made several mistakes by pressing them when I didnt intend to. Once I get use to holding it I will turn them back on. Its great because you can choose what function you want those buttons to have. The carrying case fits all the needed components with room to spare. The pen, tablet and cord all fit nicely. However, I am on the hunt for a better case for the pen as I am a bit nervous about the tip calibration possibly being damaged. (read the instructions that come with this product, these pen tips are extremely sensitive and must be taken care of properly) Currently I have it in the back pocket of the case, but that's only because I havent taken it anywhere yet. I may stuff bubble wrap in the bottom of a travel toothbrush holder to protect the pen until I can find something else. But just in case, this does come with extra tips : ) I havent been this excited about the results of a purchase in a very long time.

Came on time and in a large box! The things inside included the tablet, a USB cord/charger, gloves, user manual, pen, pen holder, a cleaning kit, Cd for driver, and, surprisingly, a tablet case! The tablet is small, but I knew what size it was when I got it and I don't regret doing so!

This small tablet is perfect for my digital drawing needs. You dont need a big and, expensive tablet to be able to make art. This little thing is great quality. Its way better than the one i use to have. The one i had was called a visa and, it was like a mouse pad. I advise you to stay away from that one. It was garbage. It includes a batterie for the pen which is under the black plastic inside of the box. The usb cable is there also. The pen actually locks so the batterie doesnt fall out. You have to twist it and, itll snap when its on right. It comes with extra pen nibs and, a nib remover but, NOTE it doesnt come with the plastic nib holder like in the picture with the pen. It just comes in a tiny plastic bag. The 3 small buttons on the side work perfectly. I think the on and, off switch on the top of the pen is neat. It prevents the batterie from dying when it's not in use. You tap on the top like an actual ink pen. I love the acceseries it came with. All of the stuff that i got, perfectly fits inside the wool bag. Theres a small pocket on the other end to put whatever you want in it. I love the glove it came with. A lot of times when im drawing, my hand sticks to the tablet from sweating and, it would prevent me from drawing smoothly. With the glove on, i can now just easily slide my hand around the tablet. Those gloves are usually expensive too.The cleaning kit is also nice. I might not ever use the white cleaning gloves but, ill sure use the microfiber cloth. Overall, its a nice tablet. Especially for the price.

Let me start with why I needed this product. I am a self employed, full time photographer with an excessive work load. I haven't played with a drawing tablet for my editing in quite some time, but I wasn't ready to drop a bill on a Wacom that I might not *love*. I had purchased a light tablet from Huion via Amazon in the past, and was pleasantly surprised at the quality for the price. $30.00 on a modestly sized drawing tab was totally justifiable, and with an abundance of positive reviews to back it, I was pretty sold. I wasn't overly impressed with the overall presentation of the packaging, but I'm also harsh in that department. Overall, it was secured and well protected; that's what matters. Plus, the added hand glove + cleaning kit made up for it. The tablet itself is sleek, lightweight, and seemingly well put together. Upon installing the battery in the pen unit, I felt that the plastic barrel of the pen body really took away from the appeal. BUT, I like that it's so light and has a rubber grip. At first, I was a little disappointed in the size of the drawing surface, but don't let it fool you. Once I started in on a photo, I found myself not using more than a 2-3 inches of space, with plenty of surface to spare. Installation on my computer was quick and seamless. I had no issues navigating the set-up, and had my hot keys programmed in no time. It's a dream to use in Photoshop, there is no lag whatsoever. I will note that the two buttons on the pen itself don't seem to interact well with the PS interface. I'm really amazed at how much it has sped up my work flow though; I noticed a difference in the first photo! My detail work is much more precise, and it takes half the effort of using a mouse. I think for what you're paying, this is a solid product, and a fantastic alternative to it's expensive competitor. If you're just testing the waters, I highly recommend you start here.

It's perfect if you're just getting into drawing on a tablet. The price was the best I've ever seen for a drawing tablet and the extra stuff that it came with was just topping it all off. The only down said is its size but that makes it perfect for travel drawing if you have a laptop with you. I drew this in firealpaca for about 5 hours and I personally thinks its the best I've done on a drawing ever.
