I've been Shaving my Head for years and I've bought every new Trimmer on the market. I have the Wahl 5 star balding clippers, Andis T-outliner blackout (limited edition) and the Oster classic '76 with "00" and even "00000"... none of these clippers ever blew my mind the way this Magic little Foil Shaver does. Keep in mind, your Hair does have to be super short initially for the Foil to work but it will take your hair down to just above a straight Razor cut... insanely close without the shine . Perfectly CLOSE in my opinion. I shave my Head every other Day in literally five Minutes or less using only this, it literally changed my Life. Sometimes if I miss a few Days I have to cut the Hair with a clipper first before I hit it with the Foils, but it's still maybe 15 minutes tops. I've had my Profoil for 4 months and i've only charged it maybe 5 times. Insane Battery Life. It comes with a plastic guard to protect the Foils and Travels in my Shave Kit with me everywhere I travel. I can shave my head anywhere I like cause it catches almost all of the Hair! 4 months down with frequent use and the blades are still cutting extremely well. Cleaning it is super easy, you just remove the foils and brush the hair off of the blades and the body, and then you just put one drop of oil on each clean blade. I would suggest buying a nice Clipper Brush and a little Clipper Oil to keep yours nice, and clean like i do. Trust me when I tell you that if you Shave your Head and you don't own one of these, you're doing yourself a disservice. Light, Powerful, Great Quality and Cheap. For the rest of my life I will never use anything else! What are you waiting for?!

There are thousands of reviews for this razor on the internet so I won't bother with that. It works great for me but I've not tried many electric razors, so your mileage may vary. I ordered this and received what I believe was a fake the first time. I base this on comparing the razors to photos and videos on the andis.com web site. The attached photos shows the obvious differences (green vs red light, shiny vs dull finish, warning text vs none, and right side plug vs left). The legit one seems to run at a higher rpm too. The included manual references a green light and not red. The legit one was purchased from seller PERSONAL&ACCESSORIES.

Excellent for shaving my head. I use this every day or two. I made the mistake of pressing down too hard while shaving though, and quickly damaged the replaceable head. If used properly, I’m guessing that the head should be changed out every 2-3 months. The only real downsides that I’ve noticed so far, are that it does not shave around my neck area well, and once hair gets a certain length, it can have trouble as well. All in all this is a great product. I used to go to the barber regularly, this product has already saved me a ton of money!

Really happy with this item. It provides the cleanest shave and all my clients love it. It's a must have, especially if you're into barbering.

I have been a barber for 12 years, owned a shop for 7. I do a lot of skin fades/skin tapers/skin blowouts/beard and face work, and used the Wahl 5 Stars for years. And I was skeptical when Andis came out with their version of a box shaver, but I gave it a shot. And unless Wahl comes up with a lithium ion battery and better cutting blade assembly, these are my every day go tos. I used to have to leave the Wahl Shaver on its charger cord constantly, I only have to plug these in for an hour halfway through a ten hour day. I used to have to change the cutting bars on the Wahls every two weeks: I change the foil once a month on these and then the whole assembly the following month. Cuts a lot faster too, so if you're using it to smooth out a transition and don't have your method down, it could cut too fast, but I love it. Andis has only won me over a few times over the years, and this is definitely one of them. Thank you for making this great product.

I love it!. I used a double edge safety razor for a long time. This has nearly the same closeness. I'm black with very irritable skin, this get super close without any irritation. Feel sturdy in my had, doesn't slip, lightweight.

The best close-cut shaver/razor I've ever owned and I've been shaving my head for 15 years now. Thank you Andis!!! Keep in mind, it's not like the 00000 Oster 76 Classic I've been shaving with for awhile now. Your scalp needs to already be cut pretty short with a 00000 blade and then attempt to cut it with the Andis Profoil. And when you first start cutting it with the Profoil, start slowly until you get used to it. It really does a fine job and cuts really close for a really clean shave. You'll want to keep cutting it every 2-4 days after to keep the clean close shave but to also make it easy enough to cut/shave again.

This is an awesome shaver. I am a stylist and use it on my clients all the time for bald fades and beard trims. It shaves super close and is easy to sanitize between clients. I also got one for my husband for him to use at home. He loves it.

I always have gotten razor rash and ingrown hairs from shaving. Not with this though. I have thick and coarse beard hair, and it does an excellent job of cutting right through them. Every now and then i'll have a hair laying just right and it can't get it, for those just snip or pluck or hit with my Wahl Peanut. Speaking of that, your hair will need to be really short in order for this shaver to work. No problem if you use this every day or two. If I have went a week or longer I'll have to knock down the length with the Peanut, and then this little guy makes me straight razor smooth. Haven't used it on my downstairs bits so you'll have to write your own review on that. The price is about the same as a couple of 5 packs of Mach 3 razors, but lasts several orders of magnitude longer.

I read the negative reviews and I cannot understand the reviews. The shaver is fantastic if used the way it is intended. I use it to bald my head. I first cut with the Andis outliner. Then I lightly make contact, not pressing down, but guiding the shaver across my head removing the short hairs left by the outliner. The results are a very nice dry shaven head. It's a piece of fine machinery, if treated with that in mind it will perform as it was tested and manufactured to do. Thanks again Andis.
