Has a nice mellow sound
I teach general music. I use a cart to haul 32 ukuleles from classroom to classroom. I put this one in a different place on the cart each time. The kid who gets the "clear" one is always elated! Has a nice mellow sound.

Functional uke!
So I now have 14 ukuleles, a few over a grand a piece so am pretty opinionated. I bought this specifically to keep aboard my sailboat. Based on some reviews I read I didn't expect much but am pleasant surprised! It sounds and plays pretty damned ok. It ain't now old Gibson or Martin, but for $39 add one to your collection to play outside in the rain, hell, the strings are worth 10 bucks! I would not however not recommend it as a first or only uke. Tuning gears, not perfect but serviceable contrary to what others have said. Five stars for value and novelty if nothing else.

Great!
I love this thing! Pros: • looks super cool! • Sounds decent for a plastic ukulele • comes with aquele strings • can get wet • really wet • good action (I thought) Cons: • took a bit longer to stretch the strings than my mahogony kala • does have a slight tinny sound • resonance not as good as the mahogony uke • while it does drain water, there is a lip around the sound hole that makes things difficult. • if you submerge it too much and for too long, the bridge and tuning area can get water in them for potential mold growth. Overall opinion: This uke definetly takes the wow factor in looks, it's a novelty and it's great that it works properly on top of that. This uke has its downsides but I would still give it a chance, it plays well, I kind of like the tinny sound and if your brave enough tl fill it with water, playing it while it's full has a pretty cool sound. It's a great durable little toy of a ukulele and very worth it if say

Waterman - what a uke!
You ain't got a thing of your uke ain't got bling! The fact that the Waterman is clear opens up all kinds of "bling" opportunities. The fact that it sounds great for the price really ups its cool factor!

Very cool Uke!
Very cool Uke! I thought I was buying a novelty Uke, but this thing actually sounds pretty good. As most new strings, they need to be stretched, so don't expect perfect tuning for a few days, unless you buy higher quality stings. Great conversation starter too. I'm thinking of putting LED's inside... who knows.

Toddler's first uke
We bought this uke for our son's first birthday. He had shown interest in stringed instruments so we figured we want him to have his own. We looked at other models which were more designed to be toys, but settled on the kala as it appeared far more durable. We do monitor him while he plays with it, but there aren't any sharp or small pieces that are going to come off any time soon. Though, the ends of the strings might bother some people. We are very happy with this purchase for our young musician and hope he will continue to play it for years to come.

I love my waterman!!
This is my 2nd uke, both Makala. My first was the pink burst Dolphin, so it's apparent that I'm inclined to buy something just because it's cute, but I did read tons of reviews before ordering this ukulele. Despite being all plastic, this uke does have decent sound quality and comes with high quality, well-reviewed Aquila strings. Although, I wasted no time taking said strings off and replacing them with the Aurora multi-colored strings. Considering the slightly different bridge, this uke was VERY easy to restring and it's very very cute! The quick start guide included in this purchase is also pretty cute. It would be extremely helpful had I not had experience with ukuleles and their workings, but it still found a way to help me out by including the chords to two well known Bob Marley songs on the back!

The invisible ukulele: is this cool or what?!!!
Really neat how you can see through it. Good intonation includes Aquila strings! I don't even have to change them out like I do most of the time. Third day in and the strings are still stretching. I love the fact I will be able to play "in the weather" and it won't go horribly out of tune like my "real" ukes. Back and sides are solid molded plastic and the top snapped on and probably glued.

This is such big fun! As with any new ukulele
This is such big fun! As with any new ukulele, it will take a bit for the strings to settle in. I expect that. But, it feels wonderful. I am going to take it into the pool, at the beach, EVERYWHERE with me. (It comes with a backpack gig bag. For those wondering, the gig bag is not padded. But, for me, this is nice, since I like small and light for this little uke.

Fun little uke
Fun little uke! Arrived sooner than expected in great condition. I love having a uke I can take to the campground or back porch without concern for heat and humidity. I was a little disappointed that mine didn't have the paddleboard decal on the headstock...sounds great nonetheless!
