pretty good. Seems to have handled every nut I put into it so far...Brazil, pecan, filbert, almond ect...It's not rocket science...the bigger the nut is the closer to the top it stays. The concept is the same. Squeeze the handle and it cracks the nut...WOW...

Best nut cracker I have ever owned. Gets the job done with a minimum of hassle.
The cone shape lends itself to keeping the nut and its meat in one place after it's been cracked. Minimizes the mess. It also works ninety nine times out of a hundred which is good enough for me.

I'm a tool guy and though this is strange looking nut cracker but it really works. And on so many different kind of nuts. If you play around with it, you can get to the point of cracking the shell and not breaking the meat. And solves the mess problem. Just need an separate dish to dump the shells in. And, I almost forgot, it doesn't take anywhere near the effort of those old styled crackers. It makes sense, you have one lever causing again the steel side of the "bowl". Very clever, costly but worth it.

Kid approved nut cracker!
this is the best nutcracker EVER! even the 6 and 7 year olds can use it. It has worked on every kind of nut we've tried (Brazil, walnut, hazelnut, almond, pecan) All of them come out whole nuts about 95% of the time with the exception of the Brazil nut. Brazil nuts only have about a 60% whole nut that comes out of the shell. When that happens we just put it back in and crack it some more.

It does the job.
I love this "gaget". I crack a lot of nuts during Xmas time, when available, I've tried them all. Good price and works perfect. Don't abuse it, use with care and will last for ever. Try your strength on something else like chopping wood.

The best nut cracker
This is the best nut cracker. Solid metal. There is no plastic parts. I also surprised that it was made in Sweden, not China. I always prefer refresh walnuts, but cracking walnuts requires elbow grease and it gets messy. Even my 5 year old boy can crack walnuts with this, No more Costco walnut. Sorry Costco!

Cracks every nut we had, easy for kids to use
We used this for mixed nuts (almonds, pecans, walnuts, hazelnuts, brazil nuts) and it worked well for all of them. Closed on the bottom so shell doesn't fall out (unless it pops out the top while cracking). I bought three nutcrackers and this is our favorite. My kids (6 years) can use it without any trouble.

Great nutcracker!
Wow- this is it! Great nutcracker. Almonds, filberts, brazil nuts, walnuts crack wonderfully and quickly. It fits nicely in your hand and doesn't require a lot of force. Only issue I have is that super large walnuts don't fit the best -- most fit just right and brazil nuts are a bit of a challenge, but much easier than with a traditional nut cracker. Spend the coin and get this one!

good nutcracker
Really nice product. Does what it is suppose to. I have not yet tried it on macadamia nuts or black walnuts, but tried it on just about every thing else, and it did great, even brazil nuts. It is well made, and nicely packaged, would make a nice gift. I recommend it.

Drosselmeyer Nutcracker vs Landtom
I purchased the $50+ Drosselmeyer as well as the $20 Landtom to compare... Much to my surprise, they are virtually identical in appearance as well as build quality. They are also both made in Sweden, have identical parts, color and finish. The photos tell the story best. What you see is what you get. They are virtually identical. The difference is that the Drosselmeyer name is stamped on the silver vertical "cutter". Additionally the Drosselmeyer includes directions and a box with a photo. The Lantom is less than half the price and it works just as well. I found the Drosselmeyer was easier to disassemble and put back together. The Landtom was a much tighter fit and thus a challenge to disassemble and reassemble. Land toms handle also had a slightly nicer finish. You cannot go wrong with either, but when you can buy two Landtom for the price of one Drosselmeyer, the answer is clear to me that you can pay for the name, instructions and fancy box or get two without the name, instructions and fancy box.
