Warning: This is a long review, simply because I absolutely love this stand, so please accept my apology in advance. Prior to purchasing this I read several reviews, which I do before buying anything from Amazon. I noted several buyers that reported how sturdy it was, as well as several buyers that reported that the cushioning pads were missing, so I had an idea of what to expect. Overall the consensus seemed positive, as even the buyers that reported the missing pads decided to still keep the product. When I first received the product, I noticed how heavy the box was, I mean it was much heavier than I thought it would be, which was good, I guess. The product was well packed and the stand is sleek, free from scratches, and had all of its' cushioning pads in place. I would have preferred that it be the same color as my MacBook air but it is a bit darker grey, and it's no biggie, I like it just the same. It has a matte finish and sort of melts away into the background. This stand is EXTREMELY sturdy, sturdy enough that I can actually type on the laptop while it is on the stand, resting my wrists on the keyboard, and it doesn't move or rock one bit. Now I see why the item has the weight that it does. The cushioning pads not only provide protection against scratches but they ensure that the laptop is held securely in place. The color of the stand appears to be baked into the surface somehow, instead of just being sprayed on, which means the risk of the surface chipping is low. This stand elevates my laptop so that I don't have to keep my neck bent down while using it. The screen of my laptop is now fairly level with my second monitor, so this prevents me from having to look up and down to compare data and other information. So, in addition preventing aches and pain in my neck and back, it essentially allows my peripheral vision to work more effectively. This stand also provides additional space underneath the laptop. So now my external drives are readily available and the cords are kept out of sight behind the stand, as you can see in the photo that I attached. Previously I kept them on another desk because this desk is on the small side and has limited space, and I hate to have a cluttered work space. I have not been able to identify any negative aspects of this laptop stand. It is sturdy, of high quality material, and the cost is phenomenal, especially when compared with alternatives that range from $40 - $70, such as the Rain mStand and Apples' adjustable stand. This is the best $20 that I've spent in quite a while and I'm not surprised that it is an AmazonBasic product. I absolutely love this product as it fit the bill financially, and in regards to design and quality. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this product.

I found what I was looking for, a solid, stable stand for my Macs when I am using them at my desk at home. I bought this stand to replace a light-weight stand that was very attractive, but seemed like an accident waiting to happen. This stand is solid and has some heft. It sits firmly on the table and there is little concern about knocking the laptop off of it. It does raise the laptop significantly off the table, about 3.25" at the front edge and almost 7" at the base of the top. For my MacBook Air, that puts the bottom edge of the screen at 8.25" above the table top. There is usable space under the laptop, and it isn't blocked by any of the stand's structure, which is a plus for me. One of my stability concerns was the front edge of my previous stand, which barely held the laptop front down. This stand uses rubber, friction pads to keep the front edge secure. You can still knock the laptop over backwards though. If the front edge of the stand folded back over the front edge of the laptop or somehow captured it, that would be more stable, but since few stands seem to have that feature, there must be some argument against it, probably because laptops are all different thicknesses. Anyway, I am satisfied with the way this stand solves the problem. Another factor with respect to tipping is the front-to-back depth of the stand. This one is sufficient for either my MacBook Air or MacBook Pro to sit well on top. Because it is high enough off the table, the top doesn't need to be leaned back much for me to view it straight on. However, if you do try to keep the screen tilted back, this will make the laptop unstable. When you look at your workspace arrangement, keep in mind that to use this stand, you will want to have the screen nearly vertical. The bottom line is that this is the stand that I was looking for.

The Amazon Silver Laptop Stand is a great solid stand for those who want to use their screen and have their laptop elevated at the same time. It's solidly built and the pads that are included are cushioned well to help your laptop from getting scratched. It shipped in it's own box which surprised me, but worked none the less. I use it on a MacBook Pro 13 in and standard issued 13 in PC that was issued for work. Both are ultrabooks and don't weight too much and fit great. I use both with an external monitor, mouse, and keyboard and this is a great setup for that. It's better than having the computer on the table since it provides a better sight line. It also is great since I can reclaim some desk space with the elevation. I would caution the use of this stand if you have a larger computer though. Since this stand wasn't exactly designed for a computer of that size, it could cause the stand to tip over. All in all, as long as it fits, it's a great stand!

At first I was hesitant to pull the trigger on this stand after reading some of the comments in regards to quality but in the end I'm glad I did. This stand did not have any cosmetic defects and the pads were all attached. This thing is solid (no flex/wobble) and has a good weight to it but it's not too heavy for a stand. I like the weight as it prevents it from sliding around under the weight of wires running through the guide hole. The paint is a nice flat black and matches my laptop perfectly. There are four pads under the laptop and two pads at the front catches which prevents the front and underside of the laptop from scratching. If you're debating between this stand and the Rain Design stand (as I was) I would go for this one. I use the Rain Design stand at work and this stand at home. The build quality is the same but with slightly different styles.

This stand, just like its inspiration the mStand Laptop Stand by Rain Design (http://www.amazon.com/Rain-Design-10032-mStand-Laptop/dp/B000OOYECC) is a fantastic little accessory. A quick comparison of the two: Build Quality (5/5): Solid and sturdy. Slightly heavier than the mStand, in a good way. All-in-all about the same though. [Push] Form (5/5): The laptop stand is similarly shaped and does an equally fine job with positioning and support. [Push] Ascetic (3/5): The appearance, while not obtrusive in any way, lacks the pleasing facade created by the sharp lines of the mStand. Considering the fact that you almost never see either during regular use, this was not a large issue for me. [mStand] Price (5/5): At the time of writing this review, the stand is less than half of the price of the mStand. [AmazonBasics] Value (5/5): Despite its less attractive facade, the price difference makes this a fantastic alternative to the mStand at a steal of a price. [AmazonBasics]

This is hands down the best laptop stand for the money. I absolutely adore it. It’s less than $20, yet it’s made of one solid piece of metal. It’s very thick and very heavy duty, and it holds a heavy gaming laptop with no worries. There’s also two passthroughs in the back for cable management. In the pictures, the stand looks very shiny - almost cheap. I can assure you that this is not the case. The metal has a gloss-style coating, but it’s a dull sheen and looks very stylish. There are pads on the top and bottom of the stand and on the little grabber edges to keep the stand from scratching either your desk or the laptop. These are adhered very well and won’t come off anytime soon. Long story short, for the price point, this is the absolute BEST laptop stand.

ATTN: Musicians, & Recording Studio GEAR HEADS. I have 2 of these at the moment. And I will purchase SEVERAL MORE. I do not use this for "laptops" Where this IS really outstanding... Is for things like DRUM MACHINES.. Groove Boxes.. Samplers, and synth modules just to name a few! And Such. Currently have one for my Novation Circuit. And My Korg Electribe Sampler. See Pics. Getting another for my Korg KP3+. The more I look around my studio... The more I need. These are built like tanks. I was SHOCKED at the build quality... This cannot be bested for the money. They work beautifully for all kinds of "gear" that needs some SAFE STURDY "Elevation"... Grab one, and I guarantee you will buy a half dozen more. One of my favorite buys of 2016

It's a simple laptop stand, but it is sturdy and better in my opinion than those cheap plastic ones. It also just meshes better with my aluminum Macbook look. But overall, it serves it's purpose very well and exists as the new home for which my laptop sits on while at my desk. It helps elevate the screen, so that I'm not hunching over my laptop as normal and thus reduces neck strain while working on my laptop. The angle of the stand is ideal, and keeps it at the perfect height to where it still can be typed on. I did end up pairing it with a bluetooth keyboard as it is still much easier to type on that than on the elevated laptop keyboard otherwise. But it's still doable to use the laptop keyboard as well, just not for prolonged used in my opinion. The underside is also useful for simply having additional storage space, and is where I keep my external hard drive stored. The stand can handle the weight of my Macbook just fine with very little bend, but I suspect heavier and beefier laptops may distort the stand a lot more, so this may not be the best stand for heavy laptops. The stand does a good job of keeping the laptop cooler as well.

The stand is able to fit my 5 pound 17inch laptop without any problems, as long as I adjust the center of gravity of the laptop and take precautions when pressing the power button near the top. The power button on my laptop is located near the hinge of the monitor; When pressed, i have to make sure to press it lightly (or hold the side of the laptop for balance if i want to press it harder) or it'll make the stand wobble back-and-forth. but not make the laptop fall off the stand. Other than that, normal function on the keypad works fine. If you own a 17inch laptop that has a lot of buttons on the top row near the hinge of the monitor and use them frequently I do not recommend this product as your laptop may fall off eventually during forceful uses or may damage your table due to constant wobbling of the stand. Any button that is pressed 1.5inches vertically from the hinge will not cause any issues and your laptop will remain stable. All laptops are different, so can't say for your particular situation, but if you own a 15inch or 17inch laptop with similar specs and still have problems with it, the return policy for an Amazon Basics item is hassle free. Just take precautions just in case your laptop fall off the stand when testing it out for the first time as Amazon probably won't take responsibility for a damaged laptop. The stand is great for standing desk and also for when sitting down. For the latter, your posture may be better as it forces you to look up more as you do not tend to bend forward as often. Good if you're one who uses a usb or wireless keyboard, let it be the keyboard of your laptop doesn't work or prefer a larger keyboard to type on. There is about 3.5 inch gap between the laptop and the base of the stand at it's lowest point, making for a good storage location for misc items for quick access or for the keyboard mentioned earlier Very good ventilation especially when using on a gaming laptop as you hear the fans less when playing a high graphic intensive game. The stand itself is sturdy, yet heavy. Best to have it fixed in a central location than have it transported constantly. If you do plan to move it to different locations, I would save the box it comes with along with the cardboard grips as it'll make transporting easier. Overall worked very well for me, especially having a large laptop.
