Sturdy and reliable

Keeps my knives off my fingers and the tines are sturdy enough to make this work. I have tried others that are too flimsy and not workable to be able to make a cut straight across.

Great kitchen helper.

It's pretty, but more importantly, it works great. We eat a lot of tomatoes, which can be difficult to slice evenly, or thin. Also easy to clean . Nice kitchen gadget, I wish I had had years ago.

Great product!!

I like the size of tomatoes I get with this slicer and they are uniform. Thin slices using ever groove or thicker if skipping to one ever other groove. Works for other products as well...lemons, larger limes, small onions. I love the red color as it goes with my preferred color scheme so I can leave it out as a conversation piece...."What is that!" . Love it.

Great tool, good longevity

I bought this tool a few months ago, and I've used and cleaned it about 50 times, and it's still almost like new. I have seen other reviews stating THEY THINK it's not going to last, but I'm reviewing stating I KNOW it will last, or at least long enough to justify its price-point. I'm starting to get some rough edges in the grooves from knicking it with the knife (which is why I use this, I can't hold a knife steady enough to slice tomatoes safely anymore without a guide like this). Keep in mind I've never put it through the dishwasher, I only handwash it, which is very easy to do. The spring has not started to rust yet either. Good product, I will re-buy it when it wears out.

I ALWAYS have trouble slicing tomatoes...even with a properly sharpened chef's knife. This device secures the tomato safely and allows you to slice it. You do need two working hands... one to anchor it, the other obviously to use the knife. You have to pay attention to ensure the knife is properly aligned in the slots. You can't do this quickly, but then, you shouldn't cut tomatoes quickly unless you are a contestant on Iron Chef! This does exactly what I want it to do. Highly recommended.

I was looking for some way to make thick sliced tomatoes and squash and this is just the ticket. You can make really thick ones by skipping every other slot.
