Agree with all the comments about it being smaller (less floor space is a bonus in our home) and light weight (again I like this for storing away and cleaning up) it quickly became a favorite for my 2 1/2 year old and we are very pleased. It goes together quickly too! Three screws and done! Packaging was awful. All thrown loose in a non labeled box. Recommend wrapping if for a present arrives like it's used but all parts seem new and work great.

Time Honored Toy

I bought this for my 19 month old grandson for CHRISTmas. He was very intrigued by it. He stood on it and tried to make it go. He spun it around and thought he could get on that way.. LOL Grandma put him on it and spun him around and he loved that. He has not grasped it yet but I am sure that he will. This is very sturdy.. it is very hard plastic. It looks like it will withstand a lot of abuse from a soon to be 2 year old.

Great for spinning, but some like to use it for climbing!

Works great, just like the one I has when I was a kid. Love watching the kids get dizzy! However, be aware that some kids will carry it around the house and stand on the center wheel trying to access off limits drawers and cabinetry. Man, these kids just keep getting smarter.

Great Toy for Kids Who Like to Move!

This was a hit for Child That Does Not Play With Toys. At 2.5, she figured it out within seconds, and it spins FAST. I'm not sure about reviewers that said that they remember the top moving as a child because that's not the case. You can YouTube videos of children riding retro versions and the top has never spun. And about the she size being smaller than they remembered... I think that's a perspective issue. As you can see in videos, it's the same as it was years ago. We're just a lot bigger. ;) It fits my 2.5 year old very well (pictured), and even her 8 year old brother has taken a turn (though I can see why it's not for children that size... he pulls pretty hard on the plastic and I'm afraid he will break it). Overall this is a great, classic toy!

Sturdy and Spins Great!

My 3.5-year old has been asking for this since she was 2, and we finally caved and bought it for her. I was worried she may have outgrown it as she is 40lb and tall for her age, but she fits just fine and I don’t see how she will become too big for it for quite some time. I was also worried about quality as other reviewers stated it isn’t as sturdy as those of the late 70s/early 80s and doesn’t spin as well, but I found it to be well made and have no concerns thus far. It is assembled using only one screw (which did concern me), but it has been subjected to a lot of use and abuse in the last week from the 3.5-year old as well as the 1.5-year old, and we are hopeful it will make it for the long haul. I will certainly update if it doesn’t!

Year old toy with daily use, still spinning!

This is probably our most used toy. Whenever we have friend's kids over it's a big hit. In fact, it's a permanent piece of furniture in our living room. We have had it for over a year and it's still being used almost daily. Sometimes, my 4 year old and 2 year old will use it at the same time which is about 60 lbs of weight combined and they have had no problems spinning around.

Worried for nothing!

I was afraid to order this product after reading some of the reviews about how it didn't live up to expectations.. I even checked eBay for the older style people say are sturdier... I 100% would recommend this to anyone with toddlers. I was initially worried it would be too little for my 36" 27# 2.5 year old, and too hard to maneuver for my 31", 25# 18 month old. Not only do they have a blast with it, but my 4 yo goddaughter fights them for it. The baby can't quite get it going as fast, but she'll get there. The older girls make it move, and quickly learned it goes faster on the hardwood than the carpet. My 2.5 year old, for some reason, likes to sit on the center part like a chair too. Don't worry like I did, just buy it!

Works fine and is easy to assemble, also trash wrappers from Amazon employees at no extra charge

Little box within a GIGANTIC box is how it arrived, as does everything from Amazon, and once I wrestled the gargantuan chunk of cardboard open, I immediately noticed that the items' box was opened. Upon further inspection, I noticed several Oreo Mini wrappers crammed between the pieces. I wouldn't be as upset at the laziness that it takes for someone to cram their trash into someones purchases, as opposed to walking a few feet to a trashcan, if they had at least left a few unopened packs in there. In conclusion, the kids love it, it's cheap and I have trash wrappers to throw away along with a coffin sized box.

Easy to put together!

So easy to put together. Takes 3 screws that it comes with. It's small, awesome size for someone with a small apartment like us. And good price! Took pic next to high chair for size.
